The Voice.

If you want to study the astrology of singing look to Mercury and Taurus.  Mercury is air in the (Gemini) lungs, Taurus rules the throat.  Scorpio (opposite Taurus) is also worth noting as it is power (ruled by Pluto) opposite, therefore a give and take/unit.

Voice aspects have always been a subject of interest, as I have Moon in Taurus, a Virgo stellium and Libra Mercury at Midheaven.  I love to sing, and sounds directly influence my state/peace of mind.  The most intelligent, interesting lecture in the world would have trouble sinking in if I had to listen to a whiney, grating voice throughout.
It is what it is…just one of my quirks. 
Now onto the astrology of voice.

Clear voice: Sun, Mercury, Venus well aspected, on the angles
Deep voice: Saturn highly aspected (esp in women) afflictions to Mercury, Venus
Fluency: expressive dexterity corresponds with 7 degrees Capricorn/Pisces
Rumbling, course voice: afflictions to Scorpio; Saturn in hard aspect to Taurus/Libra or Venus, also in hard aspect to Mercury
Gifted: Venus or Mercury in Taurus, 2nd house; Air signs on cusp of 2nd
Melodious: Venus (Taurus/Libra) on the angles (esp with Mercury) and well aspected
Vocal control/tone: strongest at 16 degrees Taurus/Scorpio; 17 degrees Aries/Libra
Voice strain: Uranus or Saturn in hard aspect to Mercury, Venus, Taurus or Air signs

Factoids:
The larynx is said to build its power from the sexual nature of the Scorpio axis – the sex drive kicks in with the deepening of the male voice in puberty.  For this reason hard aspects (restriction) of Taurus/Scorpio will manifest in a high pitched voice in men; a low voice in women. 
Venus and Mercury strong with benefics can compensate for hard aspects to Taurus.

It is wise to remember that any contact is an exchange of energy a square or opposition can be stronger than a trine when solved – aka worked properly, honed to your highest expression of it.

Quicksilver retrograde runaround:
Mercury into Aquarius Jan 4, (in shadow 6th) retrograde at 17 degrees on the 21, direct on Feb 11 at 1 degree Aquarius (out of shadow March 4)

Quicksilver was fathered by Magneto – brill, yeah ?  
Mercury is the lower octave of Uranus aka magnetics.  

Mercury retrograde in Aquarius is particularly weird because perceptions of space-time are skewed – shifting and changing like prismatic flashes in a crystal prism.  Thoughts emerge from odd spectrums.  Waves and vibrations flare – deliver clarity – then fade, for another idea has already taken its place.

Accept the intuitive leaps and inventions your synapses are firing across the chasms.
The greek root of synapse means join together.

Full Leo Moon opposite Aquarius Sun is delivering heaps of creative brainstorms with Jupiter Rx in tow.  Mercury Rx in Aquarius is ahead of its time & ahead of your time.  Messages incoming may not make sense at this moment – but do not idly dismiss them – they will make perfect sense in the future.

Question girl has a question.
I know, I know – Leo full moon me Me ME and all that…but what sort of 8th house Leo spy researcher would I be if I didn’t have an oddball query for Aquarius Sun in opposition ?

In astrology, Sun rules the conscious; Moon the subconscious.
Rupert Sheldrake goes one step further to ask, “What if the sun has consciousness ?”

Everything has a time and season…our Sun was once born and one day will die – it is alive and giving off energy – just like us.  I look at life, also death – I am Plutonic, hence the Vampire Tarot.

It is with this spirit that I ask, “What does our star, our Sun want us to know ?”
Us being those drawing breath on Gaia now. 

Fascinating response.

Earth is erotic and seductive, mysterious and romantic…water, emotion and lust.  It is a hypnotic dream state, influential – but not all it appears to be.  Living is holy baptism in the water of life, the metamorphosis delivered by the struggle for knowledge. We are, our the earth is –  primarily water – emotional and intuitive with a desire to delve deep into experience.

Here we discover our identity, we ‘test’ the waters, so we may find balance.

The message from spirit or crux:
Grounded in the physical world is Earth school, the material limitations that must be overcome in order to fulfill the spiritual quest.  Material form is primal animal nature: blood, teeth – life and death and the lessons learned in between.  It is survival of the fittest – physical stamina coupled with cunning and craft and companionship.

Here we face karma; authority, limitations and boundaries. 

On this full moon with Jupiter we walk between worlds.

Pulled a quick card (see twitter feed) for incoming Pisces Venus conjunct Chiron (exact on the 8th) at 15 degrees. Chariot – moving through opposing forces – was apt in more ways than one.

Venus moves to meet Chiron and Mars.
They are within 3 degrees of separation on the 14th (USA) – though they will not reach exact until the hop into Aries at 1 degree on the 21st.

As always, note the energetic event that accompanies the heavenly shift occurs before the energies are exact.  If you are a sensitive with these planets active in your natal, you will likely be feeling it 7-5 degrees out.

Venus conjunct Chiron = wound & healing re: love, security, money/trades, inclusiveness, compassion and the knowledge of karma that accompanies all choices.  It represents the learning that springs from wise understanding of both.  Lower and higher octaves of love/art (Venus in Pisces, Neptune also in sign) helps smooth this transit via higher vibration.  Keep in mind during this transit that emotional compassion and/or pain is wisely used to:
1 help yourself
2 help others

Know what you want, where you are going, how to get there.
Have faith in your future, just keep walking, swimming – whatever !
Head ’em up and move ’em out !

Venus conjunct Mars on the 21st also brings Moon conjunct Uranus in Aries, a visceral shedding of the old emotional baggage while shoring up paths into new horizons via trines to Jupiter Rx in Leo and Saturn in Sagittarius.

Take projects in small bites, larger steps, until you are flat out running with it.
Power IS operating – change is imminent.

A bit of mini interp prior to Full Leo Moon conjunct Jupiter stuff…

Rose is an Aquarius with Jupiter (traditional ruler) in Pisces in exact square to Uranus in Sagittarius.  Sagittarius (the archer) is ruled by Jupiter; Pisces rules film as well as what lies beyond.  Rose is either a late Gemini or early Cancer Moon – making Jupiter focal planet of a(n out of sign possibly) T-square with Moon opposing either Uranus/Saturn in Sag or Venus/Neptune in Capricorn.

Pisces Jupiter is sensitive, enthusiastic – while square Sagittarius Uranus, wildly unpredictable – gypsy spirit emotional consciousness, seeing/knowing keen: scout. 
If Moon is in Gemini: think/hear it coming; Moon in Cancer: gut/feel it coming. Pisces Mercury tends towards transcendent thinking, daydreams – senses of thinking and feeling are tightly woven.

In tandem with Aquarius Sun, boho individualism is strong, rebellious, while Venus and Neptune in Capricorn shore up love/work structure, goalsets and practicality.  Values earth, time, place, emotional roots, the past.  Mars in Aries (ruling) is gutsy, brave and independent; adventurous and hard-working when trine Uranus/Saturn in Sagittarius.

I see now why her performance moved me to tears at the end of last season.  Actions screamed, yet volumes remained silently unspoken.  Exquisite, truly.  Astrologically, Rose’s late Sag trines my Leo Venus Jupiter & her Venus is on my ASC.  Ygritte is a tough girl on the outside, but sensitive on the inside.  I get that – more than I’d like to admit.  How perfect the line and the fact Rose is an Aquarius, yes ?  Brilliant.

Sun in Aquarius thinks globally – yet we are individuals within the global energetic etheric field.  We must first suss out personal issues before we can offer the world our highest vibration.  So it is.

Saturn is the restriction, the slowing, perfecting, deepening, building, work, time, and the aged sage.
Venus is love, art, social graces, kindness, beauty, finery, flattery, money, trades and partnerships.
