1 She’s horned -balance sought between Aries Uranus and heavy Capricorn energy. Capricorn Venus Rx 22 nearly on Sun 19, Pluto 11 – Mercury ready to blaze out into Aquarius in 4 days.
Thoughts are heavy, balance is key.

Disks represented [that ironically keep the eyes closed after death] are the Sun looking out and Moon looking in.  Capricorn/Saturn is the veil of flesh that contains us separated from others, individuals unto ourselves.  Coin Athena (Sun) is wise, looking out; Coin Moon, Janus (god of doorways) looks into the great subconscious pit, the cave within.  Odin is also represented – the shaman, the oracle bringer hanging upside down from the world tree to obtain enlightenment – seeing both worlds, he gained insight, created Runes, lost an eye.

New Moon signals a time of new beginnings; void moons a time of contemplation and insight.  

This Libra New Moon delivered me off the scale fluctuation of feelings, restoration of balance using the sword of truth . . . rapid-fire insights were incoming from all quarters.

Did you feel a shake up in your Libra house ?

Libra is my MC, Moon passed over my Merc on the way to the new phase – so women, public and my thoughts and feelings surrounding relationships, balance and reciprocation were either folding themselves up for good, or spreading their wings to fly like paper cranes all around me.

Beautiful Venus does love her mirrors.

When I drew the Mirror card in the Wild Wood Tarot it perfectly described my fluctuating thoughts, feelings, and perceptions revolving around status, power, fame and friendship during this moon phase.

She also describes qualities of both luminaries meeting in the sign of balance and fairness – the house of others.

Unlike the Hooded Man who chooses solitude, the Mirror indicates being forced to surrender personal will, forced to be open to the ways of the universe, forced to quietly, patiently await for insights to reveal themselves as they will.

The Mirror sees both sides, she is uniquely attuned to both the inner and outer realms.
She is aligned with the Hangman, sacrifice, insight, Odin and the runic alphabet.
The Mirror is the Lady of the Lake, keeper of the magikcal sword, Excalibur.

Swords represent AIR: thought, insight, clarity, truth and justice.  Very Libra.

The mirror brings gifts of emotional growth, clarity of purpose, the bare truth of subconscious made manifest in waking life.  She reflects a wounding, the keen instincts and insights that come from passing through the dangers of the shadow world where warriors seek enlightenment.  She is dual, polarity and reveals a complete shift in awareness.

Is this not true of all relationships ?

What was one (Sun), now becomes two (Moon), the shift in balance is ongoing thereafter.  Diplomacy and compromise, bonds and contracts, love and war are also present in the world of Libra, the world of two, the world of mirrors. (First house Aries – ME opposes seventh house Libra YOU.)  Oppositions often play themselves out in the form of projection / reflection. 

Libra New Moon (conjunct Sun – all new moons are conjunct Sun) is particularly geared for understanding developing relationships and creatively loving the seed of willpower that lies deep within ourselves.

Although every moment holds the promise of change, New Moons accentuate this promise, they urge us forward in the process by holding up the mirror to ourselves.

During New Moons we (conscious – solar / subconscious – lunar) are side by side looking into the mirror : two FEELS more like ONE.  Instinct and will are a team, setting intentions for growth during the coming lunar cycle.

New Moons force us to grow into the knowledge of the next full moon.

During Full Moons two FEELS more like TWO, because we are at odds with the other side of ourselves, at odds with the reflection, at odds with the OTHER.  (Full Moons are always opposite Sun) Instinct and will are in peace talks, they are AWARE of their separateness.  Understanding, illumination and growth is at a peak – knowledge courses in from all sectors.

Subconscious self SEES the conscious self SEES the subconscious self.
Our creations are locked and loaded – visible.
Full Moon illumination – new moon intentions – are manifest, realized.

Synchronicities between new friends are popping up quite a bit the last few days, the last gasp of Neptune in Aquarius !  Synchronicity and friends are Aquarian ruled.  Pisces / Neptune are the cosmic connections, the net, the web of life.

As Neptune shifts signs, little oddities and revelations will be zinging around, particularly relevant as Saturn (traditional ruler of Aquarius) is stationing retrograde with a Full Moon on the 7th, four days later.
Saturn is in Air (communications) and Neptune will be in Water (emotions), Full Moon will be in Fire (actions regarding your passion).  Full Moon will bring clarity to your Leo House, a culmination in creative action followed by a spreading of seeds (disseminating moon) of knowledge  gained in the last moon cycle as the moon wanes to dark.

Neptune eases closer to home plate and already I can feel my body getting pickier about the food I ingest.  I had just a taste of meat a couple of days ago – forget it.  Couch time, sick.
So thanks micro organisms inside, message received Loud & Clear !

Neptune girl will be good, green leaves, lotsa H20, meditation and quiet.  It’s better for my ethric body, I work and think better when not working on all cylinders to digest.  Moon and Cancer rule indigestion and I have Moon on 4th (natural Cancer house) opposite Neptune in the natal.  Stomach issues due to sensitivity.  Also, I am a multiple conjunct Virgo which is opposite Pisces – so compromise with the digestive process (Virgo).  Heads UP, Neptune cometh…

January 9, 2012 at 1:30 AM CST, USA is the Full Moon in Cancer at 18 degrees.

I am looking at the natal chart for the Full Moon and it occurs to me the lovely trines and sextiles look like a step in cats cradle (click).

It wouldn’t be a Cancer Full Moon post if I didn’t share some weird memory, right ?  Well, here it is…my art story…
When I was in grade school I made a string picture.  You know the one, dip the string in paint, swirl it on the paper, smack another paper on top and press, then pull out the string, peel apart the papers and see what it looks like ! My Dad framed mine (so sweet, yeah ?) and it hung on the wall of his den for years, so I remember what it looks like.  I laid out the string in blues and greens in the pattern of the aspects in my natal chart before I even knew what it looked like.  No. Kidding.  How weird is that ?!

Now on to the Full Moon chart:
Jupiter in Taurus opposite Saturn in Libra is a tug of war between going large in art, money and love < -or- >  being thrifty, economical, balanced and practical.
Sun opposite Full Moon will bring focus to Cancerian matters (home, family, the root of your root, the deep watery well of your psyche) expect to find some new developments in these areas.   Look to 18 degrees in the house of Cancer in your natal chart for more clues.
This Full Moon will be opposite (others involvement) Capricorn and square (your internal struggle) Aries and Libra, also look there.

Mercury conjunct Pluto in Capricorn trine Jupiter in Taurus – not only are powerful communications off the chart, but they are grounded, firm in earth.  Thinking will also be grinding our internal gears with Mercury/Pluto in a knockout square to intuitive Uranus in gung – ho Aries.

Who do you think would win a head butt competition between Capricorn and Aries…?!

What will we be learning and what will we do about it is going to be rattling around in our heads as Mercury is in square to Mars in self-improvement prone Virgo during the Full Moon.  Mercury is also squaring Uranus, it is the focal point of a T-Square, so thinking and talking is most definitely on the table during this Full Moon.

Luckily, Mercury is simmering in the Saturnian (slow, patient) cooker of Capricorn giving the quicksilver tongue time to think before blurting something only to regret later.
Mercury/Pluto are also sextile Saturn, crunching the numbers, and doing the work for long-term results.

What I find really terrific about this sky is the trines !   And the sextiles !
Mercury/Pluto conjunction – intense thinking and communiques in trine (ease) to exploratory happy -go- lucky Jupiter.

 The above are sextile the conjunction below : intense curiosity and cerebral twists surrounding art, mysticism, love and $ !

Venus/Neptune/Chiron conjunction – transcendent art, spiritual love and mysticism in trine to eathy manifestor, Saturn the builder.  Last chance for some Uranian style Venus conjunct Neptune universal cosmic love vibrations, in Full Moon fashion.
Full Moon amps up the emotional volume, work it !
So, hear ye, hear ye, groovy peeps ~ set your frequencies to peace, love and healing while Venus, Neptune and Chiron spark it up !

Make art, write poetry, eat good food, play, laugh, water your roots !

That outgoing Mars power has the opportunity to make emotional inroads as well with a sextile to the Full Moon.

Lunar Lore

The Moon moves fast, spends about 2 days in each sign, it navigates the entire zodiac in 27.33 days.

According to Ye Olde Farmer’s Almanac tradition, here is how to set the best times for surgery dates.

First look to the Man of the Signs drawing above to see which sign rules which part of the human body.
Then look to the see what sign the Moon falls in.
Choose a time when the moon is in the sign furthest away from the area you will be having surgery on.

For instance if having surgery on the head or face, schedule the appointment when the moon is in Pisces for best results.

Also watch for full moons and avoid surgery at these times as the moon rules the ocean tides and water, and human blood is 80 % water.  The blood flows more freely and is slower to clot during full moons.  Some also give 3 days on either side of the full moon as a time to avoid surgery because of the increase of blood flow.

During the Last Quarter and New Moon times, blood flow is more sluggish and is better for healing and resting.
Keep in mind, I am not a medical doctor, this is Farmer’s Almanac lore and wisdom, not medical advice.

Ever wonder why during dark moons you only feel like being quiet and lounging with a book ?
Now you know ~ your blood flow is slightly reduced, meaning less oxygen throughout the blood stream, it is a time for respite.

Hair ?
For increase of growth, cut between the New and Full Moon.
For thicker hair, cut on the Full Moon.  (My boss swears by this !)
To decrease growth, Full to New Moon (plucking, shaving, dyeing)
