Bitches for God

Williamson_IMG_1070-1Marianne Williamson

This woman is unusual.
A self-proclaimed ‘bitch for God’, Marianne’s obviously a woman after my own rebellious heart.  After all, the god/goddess does have a sense of humor (Venus), and I do love a good smartass who doesn’t get all precious and up themselves about spirit.
I’m in !

Marianne has a whammy Cancer stellium: Sun conjunct Uranus and Venus – there’s the rebel streak.  Venus opposes disseminating Moon in Capricorn by a wide nine degree orb, by transference of light – they all do. Yes I give more orb to luminaries, particularly with a Cancer (moon-ruled) stellium and Moon being at highest elevation.
Venus in 2nd opposing Moon delivers money/success via the public.

Uranus rules her North Node of Destiny in the 9th of philosophy/publishing and she has published ten books, including four New York Times #1 bestsellers.  She’s a relaxed (mostly, see bitch for god), boho spiritual guru seeking enlightenment,  exploration – and we all get to ride shotgun on her journey.

Saturn and Neptune (spiritual work) in Libra square Cancer stellium delivers the impetus to create balance and justice via healing through public work.  (Libra/public, but also Neptune square Moon elevated by orb of 10)

She’s a fabulous engaging speaker with Mercury and Pluto in Leo (drama, power, captivates).  They square Jupiter in Taurus 11 (Placidus) – make no mistake, she has control of the reins – fixed twice over when square to fixed Leo.  Soft voice, a patient teacher, packing tremendously powerful insight.

She has Mars in Scorpio (applying out of sign) square Capricorn Moon, the uncanny ability to provoke transition by delving into common human fragilities, fears and struggles.  She knows them intimately because she has lived them herself.

Marianne shows us how to rise above via love/understanding, she teaches us to see how we are kindred in our basic humanity, the need to be valued and loved.

Peace out
Gneiss Moon

postscript for all my bitches:
Bitches = Being In Total Control of Herself.

myths & monuments

Graham HancockGraham Hancock

Graham Hancock is a British writer and journalist specializing in unconventional theories involving ancient civilizations, stone monuments/megaliths, altered states of consciousness, ancient myths and astronomical/astrological data from the past. One of the main themes running through his books is a posited global connection with a “mother culture” from which he believes all ancient historical civilizations sprang.  (wiki)

As many of my regular readers know, I am a big fan of cleaning with (Virgo 9) and falling asleep listening to lectures.  (Sagittarius Mars in 12)  I am also a big fan of Graham, who consistently delivers the curious/unusual and thought-provoking from sites around the globe.

Graham is a Leo Sun (ruling) conjunct (8 degree orb) Pluto trine Sagittarius Chiron Rx.  Fantastic placement for Chiron, a centaur body, naturally curious – the eternal student/teacher.  Chiron the hopeful healer in the sign of higher philosophies and the Big Picture signifies a man who will travel, study, and expand horizons wherever he goes and teach and help countless others in the process.  His study and consequent teachings will revolutionize how we SEE the world.

Driven by a quest for the Truth, he will find obstacles where authority is concerned (Chiron square Virgo Saturn) but he will also find a creative tension that is very rewarding when unlocking the puzzles of time and myths and monuments built on earth. (Saturn)

Graham Hancock diving in the “Basin” at Yonaguni.Graham Hancock diving in The Basin at Yonaguni

Pisces Jupiter trines Cancer Venus conjunct Uranus – both yin water signs of nurturing and healing, reflect his deeply felt care for our earth and herstory.  Venus conjunct Uranus in Cancer is an interesting combo – simultaneously separating from dogmatic science yet embracing the relationship in a deeply personal fashion. This aspect likely attracts scientists and oddballs in equal measure, it also points to a love of ideas.

Mars and Neptune are placed in Libra the sign of love, balance and a deep appreciation for beauty.  Mars sextiles Mercury (ruling) in Virgo, its lone aspect (separating 5 degrees) that calls for action and speaking personal truth (Mercury opposes Jupiter) creating/fostering bonds and harmonious relationships between all people to the universal source – Life – in its myriad of forms.  This is also strengthened by Virgo (earth) Saturn sextile Venus in Cancer.

yonaguni5723Yonaguni

Graham has Moon in late Pisces or early Aries (no exact deets), either way, moon is conjunct North Node at 29 Pisces the culmination of all culmination degrees – the last degree of the last sign of the zodiac, this points to embracing the vast transcendence, letting go of intellectual ‘boxes’ and allowing feelings and intuition to take the reins.
North Node here is a call to head into the mystic, trust the universe to open with spiritual purpose on the life’s journey.

Graham_stonehengeLastly, Virgo Saturn (time, structures) is quintile (genius expression/talents) Uranus signaling his revolutionary science, progressive ideas that are solidly built upon the past.

And Still I Rise

Maya angelou-jpgThe need for change bulldozed a road down the center of my mind.
:::::::::::::::::

The desire to reach for the stars is ambitious, the desire to reach hearts is wise.

Maya Angelou, American writer, poet, performer, autobiographer, and much-loved sage died today.  Her life affirming work is a woven tapestry – her testament – of bravery, courage, love and compassion in the face of cruelty, violence and emotional hardship.

Maya was an Aries, with Jupiter conjunct Sun opposite Libra Moon both in square to Pluto in Cancer as focal planet in a T-Square.
Having both luminaries tied up with metamorphic power was no small matter – struggles with working positive changes in conscious / subconscious states leaves very little peaceful ground to rest.

Pluto forces change in spirit/intuition, leadership/withdrawal in the home/family as well as tribe and close partners.  Her opposition falls on the 3rd/9th axis.
An eternal student of life, she spoke out for all silent women struggling everywhere.   Through her words, the trauma she saw and felt was translated into hope and faith for countless others trying to make their own way to the light.

Plowing forward with creativity via a trine from Pluto to Mercury/Venus conjunct in Pisces is the higher ground where she took flight.  Pisces is the sign of inspired art, music and dance, also poetry.
When Maya was the victim of violence at the tender age of eight, she (understandably) went mute for years.  This can be seen in a tight Mercury Venus conjunction square Saturn Rx in Sagittarius.
Here is also found the silver lining, a neighborly woman gave her books to read.  Young Maya, through reading and exploring other worlds, began to blossom, she discovered and cultivated her life-long love of the arts.

Saturn Rx trine Neptune Rx in Leo, are both inspired, creative fire signs, and with the addition of Mars in Aquarius conjunct descendant opposite Neptune rising in the first, we have an artist with not only a sharp mind, but also a freedom loving woman who while writing of her own innate feminine power, challenged women the world over to stand tall and proud in their power as well.

She had the focal Pluto quintile Chiron – she healed through teaching others how she rose above her own tragedies, so they might do the same.

Phenomenal Woman

By Maya Angelou 1928–2014

Pretty women wonder where my secret lies.
I’m not cute or built to suit a fashion model’s size
But when I start to tell them,
They think I’m telling lies.
I say,
It’s in the reach of my arms,
The span of my hips,
The stride of my step,
The curl of my lips.
I’m a woman
Phenomenally.
Phenomenal woman,
That’s me.
:::
I walk into a room
Just as cool as you please,
And to a man,
The fellows stand or
Fall down on their knees.
Then they swarm around me,
A hive of honey bees.
I say,
It’s the fire in my eyes,
And the flash of my teeth,
The swing in my waist,
And the joy in my feet.
I’m a woman
Phenomenally.
:::
Phenomenal woman,
That’s me.
:::
Men themselves have wondered
What they see in me.
They try so much
But they can’t touch
My inner mystery.
When I try to show them,
They say they still can’t see.
I say,
It’s in the arch of my back,
The sun of my smile,
The ride of my breasts,
The grace of my style.
I’m a woman
Phenomenally.
Phenomenal woman,
That’s me.
:::
Now you understand
Just why my head’s not bowed.
I don’t shout or jump about
Or have to talk real loud.
When you see me passing,
It ought to make you proud.
I say,
It’s in the click of my heels,
The bend of my hair,
the palm of my hand,
The need for my care.
’Cause I’m a woman
Phenomenally.
Phenomenal woman,
That’s me.

Master of Two Worlds

“The standard path of the mythological adventure of the hero is a magnification of the formula represented in the rites of passage: separation—initiation—return: which might be named the nuclear unit of the monomyth.

A hero ventures forth from the world of common day into a region of supernatural wonder: fabulous forces are there encountered and a decisive victory is won: the hero comes back from this mysterious adventure with the power to bestow boons on his fellow man.”

::: Joseph Campbell :::

Makes sense he is all about heroes – Sun (heroes) is exalted in Aries, in trine to Moon in Leo (Sun rules).  What makes a hero ?  < Now that is a class I would love to take !

Five degrees exalted Aries Sun tightly conjunct Mercury exact conjunct Jupiter at six degrees – obviously brilliant teacher / philosopher. In fact, both Mercury and Jupiter are Cazimi, or within 17 minutes of the Sun. This placement is called being in the Heart of the Sun and bestows a very beneficial influence over the cazimi planets.  ( Combust is greater than 17 minutes; less than 10 degrees, is considered less beneficial as the Sun’s rays overpower the energy of the combust planet.)

This whammy trio is the focal point of a T-Square with 29 degree Uranus (culmination degree) in 3rd house Sagittarius making Joseph a unique, cerebral thinker – a visionary explorer.  Uranus opposes 9th house Neptune in Cancer the planet of myths and mythologies in the sign of storytellers and oral traditions.  Great teaching vibe in the 9th house as well – in square to the 6th; detailed analysis of myths and stories from across the globe.

Sixth house Sun, Mercury, Jupiter all trine Moon in Leo 10 – leadership qualities strong, communication of worldly status of the individual in relation to family dynamics and community.  Sensitivity to family pride, fluctuations within tribal self as well as global self.  Examination of creative expressions of self as they relate to global community (Moon, public in 12).

Sagittarius Uranus trine Aries Mars (strong, it rules – in good aspect as well) conjunct descendant in 7th is a pioneer in personal relationships.  Sextiles Saturn in Aquarius 4th so again, solidification of the USE of personal / family / global relationships as they relate to the individual’s journey through life on earth (Saturn).

Venus is exalted in Pisces from the creative 5th house in trine to Neptune in Cancer in 9th, sensitivity strong, heart for teaching inspiring social dynamics, spiritual intelligence behind the personal quest – the quest to not only survive, but succeed.

Aries types are passionate and Gung HO to GO – courageous, inspired leaders who also want YOU to succeed.
 Joseph definitely excelled in inspiring the global community to explore the fool’s journey, the exile, the quest and the redemption and eventual return of the hero.

God, I do love fire signs – bouncing around life’s pre-game: C’mon – Let’s GO !!
Every single thing is a chance for a fun new adventure !
Reading Joseph Campbell inspired George Lucas to write Star Wars – YaY !

(Interesting to note transiting Uranus is conjunct Joseph’s natal Sun/Merc/Jup conjunction – transits remain relevant to the natal chart even after leaving this world – – fascinating, yes ?)

Hobbit I’m Tolkien about

John Ronald Reuel Tolkien, CBE was an English writer, poet, philologist, and university professor, best known as the author of the classic high fantasy works
The Hobbit, The Lord of the Rings, and The Silmarillion.

After his death, Tolkien’s son Christopher published a series of works based on his father’s extensive notes and unpublished manuscripts, including The Silmarillion.

These, together with The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings form a connected body of tales, poems, fictional histories, invented languages (!), and literary essays about a fantasy world called Arda, and Middle-earth within it.

While in his early teens, Tolkien had his first encounter with a constructed language, Animalic. At that time, Tolkien was studying Latin and Anglo-Saxon. Interest in the language soon died away, but Tolkien invented a new and more complex language called Nevbosh. The next constructed language he came to work with, Naffarin, would be his own creation.

Tolkien was earmarked as a codebreaker in World War II; he took a course in the London cryptographic Cypher School – though ultimately, he never served as one.
::::::::::::::::::

::::::::::::::
 If you have been reading here long, you already know I have this unabashed Middle Earth thangYou wanna wander ?  Adventure !

John is a Capricorn with a Grand Air Trine.  That’s indicative of intellectual communication and the gift of gab without a doubt.  Languages ?  Most certainly !(Moon ? dunno. soz, C rating – Moon is cuspy – either late Aquarius or early Pisces)

Saturn at 0 Libra – that’s a Cardinal strength Zero point degree !
Hee hee
Middle. Earth. ?
Love it.

Saturn rules Earth.
Hobbit holes.

Saturn is exalted in Libra – just, fair, balanced.
Works hard, plays fair, solid friendships.

“In a hole in the ground there lived a hobbit. Not a nasty, dirty, wet hole, filled with the ends of worms and an oozy smell, nor yet a dry, bare, sandy hole with nothing in it to sit down on or to eat: it was a hobbit-hole, and that means comfort.”
(First line of The Hobbit.)

John’s Grand Air Trine involves Saturn in Libra, Venus in Aquarius, Neptune and Pluto tightly conjunct in Gemini.
Venus in Aquarius will love the unusual, particularly inventing the unusual and when you chuck in the planet of high fantasy (Neptune) walking side-by-side with the planet of metamorphosis – we have an ADVENTURE !

Venus and Neptune in trine is stellar for artistic pursuits plus North Node of Destiny in Venus ruled Taurus – primo artistic talents, drive to excel in the arts.  Grand Air Trine is great for thinktank aspirations – but Air needs Earth grounding in order to harvest on the material plane.  Sun Cap, Saturn Strong. Jupiter in Pisces (ancient ruler of) means fantasy scenarios are off the scale dreamy and enhanced – supersized – or Hobbit sized if you will.

Jupiter rules Fellowship and John’s Jupiter trines Mars and Uranus in Scorpio (large scale wars are Scorpio / Pluto ruled).

John has Mercury Rx, which is often found in writers; stellar communicators who have honed their communicative skills to a razor-sharp edge through quiet introspection.
:::::::::::::::::::
Quintiles are spiritual gifts, innate talents, specialized wing-zing wizardries we can call forth throughout our lives to help us succeed.  John has a few doozies.

Mercury Rx (the small) quintiles Jupiter (the large) which quintiles North Node of Destiny in (patient, steadfast, zen) Taurus.

Sounds like. . .
Frodo: I know what I must do, it’s just that… I’m afraid to do it.
Galadriel: Even the smallest person can change the course of the future.

Leo Chiron quintiles Neptune and Pluto in Gemini.  Creativity from the heart  – believing in yourself no matter what Plutonic shit-storm happens.  Gems are clever, versatile, observant and dual – speaking of dualities . . .

We can easily see two sides of Hobbit :
Neptunian sacrifice and suffering of Frodo bravely struggling to save Middle Earth
Plutonic tragedy of Gollums metamorphosis through freakish desire for the One Ring

We can easily see two sides of Elves :
Neptunian spirituality, love, mysticism and wisdom of the healing Elves
Plutonic nightmare of hellish Orcs born from the twisted pain of Elves tortured
::::::::::::::::::::::::

Jupiter is philosophical, morality, honor, charity and optimismJohn’s Jupiter trines Mars and Uranus in Scorpio : outward power coupled with bohemian free thought; both in a perpetual state of metamorphosis.

See below:
 Upon recovery from the wound inflicted by Angmar on Weathertop, Gandalf speculates that the Hobbit Frodo may become like a glass filled with a clear light for eyes to see that can“.  Similarly, as Frodo nears Mount Doom he casts aside weapons and refuses to fight others with physical force:For him struggles for the right must hereafter be waged only on the moral plane.”
:::::::::::::::::::

All that is gold does not glitter,
Not all those who wander are lost;
The old that is strong does not wither,
Deep roots are not reached by the frost.

From the ashes a fire shall be woken,
A light from the shadows shall spring;
Renewed shall be blade that was broken,
The crownless again shall be king.
– Fellowship of the Ring

Oceans of Time

Bram Stoker, Irish novelist, was best known for his 1897 Gothic novel Dracula.
A quick look reveals a very interesting chart, that dead on nails his most popular work.
(Solar chart without exact birth time)

This is the cool thing about astrology – once I learned it, I realized everyone instinctually gravitates towards work that is aligned with their natal chart vibration.  We do our best work in our highest natal groove – we know it inside and out – what we create is natural and free-flowing because we have lived itOur work rings like a bell of truth.
:::::::::::::::::

Scorpio Sun and Moon trine Jupiter in Cancer, exalted.
Lunar longing rising from a deep well of feeling a need to be protective of and nurture women – opposing marriage (Juno) – squaring  (inner obstacle course) freedom (Uranus) and the untamed feminine (Lilith).

Dracula is an epistolary novel, told partly in letters between the characters of the book – it is fittingly Cancerian: old – fashioned and sentimental – family letters are a familiar safe haven.  Yet, it is also the perfect foil – peeping into someone’s mail or secret sex diary and hitting pay dirt.

Bram was cracking the repression code on the prim and proper Victorian era – obviously they loved their sex, but it was whispered in secret behind the parlor door. Dracula, and all he stood for, was repressed and forbidden – so of course the women swooned.

Juno (traditional woman / marriage) and Jupiter (ceremonial marriage) form a T-Square with Pluto (death, sex, rebirth) as focal planet.  Jupiter opposite Juno in Capricorn: time, lineage, being the Big Blood Baron with a trio of brides bound (Saturn) to the master of bites through blood.

Blood is Jupiter ruled.

Bram also had an amazingly strong Venus – in Libra (rules, strong) conjunct North Node of Destiny – and Lilith the Bitch Goddess (non traditional rebel wife demanding equality) – all sextile Mercury in Sagittarius (visionary publishing); and all opposing Uranus Rx in Aries.  Animal natures is the common root that binds all earthkind, flight or fight is primal, instinctual, as is the desire to survive in whatever form we find ourselves.
Uranus in Aries: unusual biting proclivities and wearing a mask to hide an ancient evil.  Uranus in Aries opposite Venus in Libra: curious attractions and shocking love surprises.

Scorpio Chiron (wounded healer, teacher) opposite Mars in Taurus, Pluto in late Aries
I do not want to bite you.

Chiron trine Saturn in Pisces and Neptune in Aquarius
I must bite you !

Mars in Toro = LoOove bite on the pulse of the throat

The Sexual Healing aspects, so interesting – the need to possess and control followed by the bite followed by complete surrender to the instincts (Moon) that overwhelm the body (Saturn).

The kicker I saved for last.
Asteroid Lucifer 1930 in Leo forms a Grand Fire Trine with Mercury in Sagittarius and Uranus in Aries.  Damage control : do not freak over the Lucifer asteroid –  it is the representation of the fight between good and evil within all of us.

Obviously passion and impulse reigns in fire signs.  Leo is creative romance, willpower and gambling with both.  The willing, passionate exchange of power in moments of intimacy is not only mutually revitalizing, but also mutually healing.

Bram had Scorpio Sun / Moon trine Jupiter in Cancer and Saturn in Pisces – bonds of love that cannot be broken by time or space.

Bram’s kite puts a sextile between his life path of creative writing (Libra Venus, bohemian Lilith) and his visionary ideas revolving around the light and dark in all of us.

Instincts are huge (Jupiter in Moon ruled Cancer, Moon conjunct Sun in Scorpio) players in his chart, as are making intuitive connections, as Mercury (lower octave of Uranus) is trine Uranus retrograde in Aries.

Bram brilliantly depicts through Dracula the polarities of impulse and restraint; control and surrender; inner demons that create and destroy.

intellectual ancestor

My mind is my own church.  – Thomas Paine

Sun, Mercury, Jupiter in Aquarius
Saturn, Neptune in Gemini
Venus exalted in Pisces

 Grand trine: Jupiter, Neptune, Pluto

Thomas Paine was an 18th century activist, a British expat who was called the “Father of the American Revolution” because of his anonymously published, pro-independence pamphlet Common Sense.  He was suppressed by the British, sought asylum in France, and was later released from a French prison (with the help of President Monroe) and moved to the U.S.

Paine became notorious because of his progressive, free-thinking writings.  In his book, The Age of Reason, he argues against institutionalized religion.  He later introduced the concept of minimum wage in Agrarian Justice, as well as old age pension (social security).  Paine was strongly influenced by his time spent with the Iroquois, who lived in harmony with nature and each other by tribal (democratic) law.
:::::::::
Though there is no evidence he was himself a Freemason, Paine also wrote “An Essay on the Origin of Free-Masonry” (1803–1805), about the Bible being allegorical myth describing astrology:

The Christian religion is a parody on the worship of the sun, in which they put a man called Christ in the place of the sun, and pay him the adoration originally payed to the sun.
:::::::::
Liberals, libertarians, feminists, democratic socialists, social democrats, anarchists, freethinkers, and progressives often claim him as an intellectual ancestor.  (wiki)

Now I do as well ~ very Aquarian !

 Shocking writings for his time, fascinating free-thinker, yes ?

Lumos

Jo is radiant  in the photo above, yes ?

Lovely, generous Leo Jo Rowling, is no longer in the Forbes billionaire club.
It is estimated she has given $160 million to charities, supporting organizations linked to poverty, multiple sclerosis (her mother suffered from MS), children’s welfare and illiteracy.  She has written 3 books that have raised almost $30 million for charities as well.

Hi qi Leos (Sun rules) positively radiate  warmth, charisma, and generosity.
They are creative and friendly with a kind heart  (Leo rules).

Jo is obviously brilliantly creative, and I had to have a look at her chart.
This is a solar chart, so the planets in signs are correct, the houses may likely change.

Jo is a life path 5, which represents change, freedom and artistic expression.

Mega Virgo stellium !
A giant rolling conjunction: Moon, Pluto, Uranus, Venus all in Virgo; Mercury conjunct at 29 (culmination degree) Leo.  I am soOo not surprised by the extensive notes and outlines she wrote in preparation for the Harry Potter series. Virgos love their   organization and notes !  I would love to see them, wouldn’t you..?

The whole series of books is so rich with vivid detail and imagination brought to life in the written word.  She has Saturn Rx the planet of weaving and building in the sign of Pisces the mystical, inspired artist opposite all of the above except Mercury – although,  I’m calling it opposite by transference of light.

Saturn is also conjunct Chiron the philosopher, teacher and healer.  Interesting as Jupiter is oriental in her chart bringing a life of exploration, foreign travels, and higher education into sharp focus ( Yes, I just called Jupiter in Gemini focused.) especially with the addition of North Node of Destiny present in Gemini as well.

Jupiter is the focal point of a massive T- Square involving Saturn – Moon, Pluto, and Uranus opposite.  Jupiter in Gemini is hopeful, expansive with a love of grandiose ideas, reading, writing – basically communicating in some form or fashion 24/7.
It is a high-octane mentally alert and cerebrally dexterous house on steroids that loves to explore the universe for new ideas.  I can only imagine the difficulty she experienced reining in all the nebulous Pisces and distractions of Gemini to create works that have sold over 400 million copies and are the world’s best selling series of books.

Jupiter rules teachers and universities (I always saw Hogwarts as a university, I don’t care how old Harry, Hermione and Ron were, that’s how I imagined it.) and think of how many kids picked up the books to read. Even kids that really didn’t like to read were reading them. That’s amazingly cool.  J.K. Rowling is a teacher of wizards and witches the world over.

Her Sun square Neptune in Scorpio (loss of will, hope), and Saturn in opposition to all that Mercury-ruled Virgo have been troublesome for her.  Moon conjunct Pluto and Jo lost her mother just as she began writing about Harry, her mother never knew of her success.  Jo has suffered from debilitating depression, and contemplated suicide, a condition which inspired the soul-sucking dementors.  How sad when the Leo light dims…read her story (from wiki) below:

Seven years after graduating from university, Rowling saw herself as “the biggest failure I knew.” Her marriage had failed, she was jobless with a dependent child, but she described her failure as liberating:

Failure meant a stripping away of the inessential. I stopped pretending to myself that I was anything other than what I was, and began to direct all my energy to finishing the only work that mattered to me. Had I really succeeded at anything else, I might never have found the determination to succeed in the one area where I truly belonged. I was set free, because my greatest fear had been realized, and I was still alive, and I still had a daughter whom I adored, and I had an old typewriter, and a big idea. And so rock bottom became a solid foundation on which I rebuilt my life.
– Harvard commencement address, 2008.

When Jo began to work her Mars in Venus (art) ruled Libra trine Jupiter, as well as Saturn trine Neptune in Scorpio – it alleviated the stress of the oppositions and squares in her chart.  Her Neptune (imagination) is sextile Moon, Uranus and Pluto in Mercury ruled (writing) Virgo.  She also has a lovely Venus quintile Neptune which is a special talent for expressing the Scorpionic mystical arts through writing.

Thank you Jo, for hanging in there and gifting us your brilliant world of magic ~

Ps.  I vote Capricorn rising.  You ?
