Ride out to meet them
is one answer, but another ?

How does one break into the heart of those who only see one way, are so close-minded they want to block a young girl from school or kill cartoonists ?

Otter: Find some source of joy and capitalize on it.  Everyone has at least one thing they love, enjoy or escape to in times of pain.  Friendship for hate, play for anger and protection where there is fear.

Raven: Ahhh…the Trickster, the Mercurial messenger that sees many sides and uses them to their fullest potential.  Corvids use tools, totem here, they are very intelligent and fly between worlds delivering messages.
Hugin and Munin (Thought and Memory/Mind) were the ravens that whispered into the ear of the Norse God Odin while he hung upside down from Yggdrasil, (The World Tree) for nine days and nights in order to gain shamanic insight.
Raven communicates deftly across cultures and space-time.
Those with Mercury highly aspected exhibit the same qualities.  Raven scavenges remains for sustenance, everything is noticed, used.

Touch and Taste: Physical connection, contact and also creation.  Hands (Mercury rules hands and sensations) are capable of transferring huge amounts of energy from all chakra points via Reiki, massage – hands create craft, sculpt, sign and play music.

Touch is the least deceptive of all the senses as it is grounded in material earth.  Babies sense everything as they learn their surroundings, crawling and tasting and touching everything.  Raven here delivers sense of smell and taste or in my mind, Smiles.

This is the universally understood gesture across cultures and creatures.

I have saved it all these years for this article alone.
Virgo rules small animals, Neptune, big ones.

I WILL Remain

cosmic head animatedFear.
Fear is ruled by Saturn, Neptune.  The octaves of thought perception: Mercury and Uranus also factor highly (anxiety).
Strong placements of these planets, hard aspects to them (especially Sun/Moon) will indicate a tendency toward fear (difficulty).  Hard aspects to the 8th or 12th house will indicate (repressed) fears. *

Mars strong in good aspect indicates fearlessness – the same holds true for Pluto, the higher octave of Mars, and aspects to it.

What is the primal baseline ?
Fright.
1. Fight
2. Flight
3. Freeze

What actions are taken in a fearful moment depends on the natal chart.*
As well as progressions of said natal chart and transits to both.  Planetary energies will lend support and confidence or add to stress and panic to what is present in the natal.

Being a Capricorn rising (Saturn-ruled) with Mercury at high noon, Uranus conjunct Sun and Moon opposite Neptune most highly aspected with squares to the 8th, I am familiar with fear.  I have been working on it for years…now it is more akin to caution I work to keep my mega-reckless Mercury/Uranus/Sagittarius energy in check.

I will not fear.
Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear.

I will permit it to pass over me and through me.
And when it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
Where the fear has gone there will be nothing….only I will remain.
Litany against fear, DUNE

Living a life full of fear, trauma and flashbacks often leads to post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) symptoms outlined here and here.
How to begin healing PSTD here.  Differing forms here.

Hard aspects (see above) to these planets may indicate fear and/or trouble involving:
Sun – life, father, children, that which you create
Moon – home, family, mother, women, emotions, public
Mercury – thinking, speaking, neighbors, children, driving
Venus – love, money, relationships, bonds, disharmony
Mars – aggression, men, competition, leading, fire
Jupiter – wide outdoors, flying/foreign, stupidity, clergy, judges
Saturn – small spaces, age, falling, breaking, caves, change
Uranus – cages, boredom, electrics, abandonment (no ground), heights
Neptune – that which is hidden/confusing, lies, lack of art/empathy, noisy crowds
Pluto – superficiality, transparency, apathy, peacefulness

Keep in mind the hard aspects ensure growth ala friction.  Trines and sextiles are fabulous grace periods but not particularly keen on forcing flowerings.  Just sayin’.

May you face your fears and remain

Asteria goddess of the stars Emily Blaivet

Asteria (asteroid 658) the starry one is the Titan goddess of prophecy and astrology.  Her placement in the natal chart indicates ways and means of reading and divining by the stars.  She is currently at 0 degrees Libra.

Finding our path to understanding, as I said in my last (full moon) post, is the crux of incredible growth.  Hence, Jupiter/Sagittarius/9th house rulership.

What is found elevated in the natal chart is near high noon (10th house/Midheaven) aka public, visible – what is placed in the 9th, is particularly expansive.  Likewise for the house where Jupiter resides as well as aspects Jupiter makes to other planets/points.  Here we find exploration and infinite growth potential.

That said, I see my past lives (Sagittarius 12th) in my own natal chart. In addition, several psychics have told me that I have previously burned at the stake for being a witch.  Considering what I am doing now, that is not at all surprising, now is it ?

How Witches on TV spell Trouble in Real Life.

There’s something about witches, it seems, that’s as compelling to us today as it was to the Puritans. But while the 1692 trials were a terrifying and tragic reality show, it’s easy to dismiss the modern fantasy of witchcraft as mere silliness. Not so fast, scholars say: When witchcraft makes a comeback, it’s often a sign of trouble in the real world. Stories of witches cast a captivating spell that both challenges and comforts us in those times — such as now.

Witches, like terrorists, “threaten to wipe out everything you believe in. If they could, they would overthrow your government, overturn your faith, and destroy your society,” Baker writes.

What.
Equating witches with terrorists ?
siriuslySensationalism at its best, thank you ever so much.
Terrorism is a red flag word choice, overused ad nauseum to incite fear and panic.
The herd is getting spooked because they should be.  A few power hungry elite are crushing the options of the many.
Scapegoating is not only entirely misguided, but also in very poor taste.
Please do your homework.

Student/Teaching/Writing 101

1. Define Parameters.
That’s the first roadblock.  What witch means to any number of people is likely as broad an answer as the number of people questioned.
Blanket terminology, please meet personal nuance.

2.  Know what you are talking about.
See 1.  First learn the basics – expand from that point. Explore outside your own navel, ask questions and honor paths that differ from your own.

3.  Get off the high horse.
No one person knows everything.  Allowing unlimited space for learning, growth and understanding is the true hallmark of intelligence.

Perhaps the real trouble is witches (your term) choose to understand personal and shared power within our universe.  Personal responsibility and karmic repercussions are widely understood.  They do their own thinking, see the big picture and walk their talk.

People who will not take the bit of propaganda are as a rule, feared because they are not easily swayed by those in power.  They SEE the spin for what it is.  Your truth is not necessarily their truth and they know it.

Knowledge is power that leads to understanding.
If that is destroying society, then we need a new society.

Witches Fire Back.

peace out

Genius for Adaptablility

The Navajo Nightway (Night Chant) is a nine-day healing ceremony used to restore order, health, harmony and balance to the people.  Each ceremony will vary depending on the seeker / ailment / remedy and the medicine man performing the ritual. Four days are devoted to purification, after which The Holy People are called upon.

Prayer sticks, rattles, dancing and construction of sandpaintings are tools used in retelling ancestral stories of a “cultural hero of particular visionary power.  Through this retelling, the singer aims to bring about hozho, or holiness, harmony.”  source

Genius for adaptability.

Description of Diné, found in Navajo Ceremonial Systems, here.
Mercury and fluctuating moon rule adaptability.
Adaptability tests incoming as Mercury stations direct at 24 degrees Gemini on July 1.

Transits of the Moon always shows swings and tests of adaptability – moods, imaginations, sensitivities, energy.
Twice a month when it applies in square to our natal moon, an inner emotional crisis point looms, twice by trine we are gifted harmony, once by opposition we work on emotional compromise, and once moon comes home to roost, we find the ultimate comfort zone.  Moon also phases, meaning more adaptability is required as our energy rises and wanes.

Frogs and the Four Sacred PlantsFrogs and the Four Sacred Plants [corn, bean, tobacco, squash]

This sandpainting would be used for treating a person who was crippled or suffering some form of paralysis, even arthritis. Sounds like a Saturn transit.  These types of illnesses are believed to be caused by the Water People.
:::::::::::::::

I loved reading in Ceremonial Systems how something as simple as too much weaving can upset the natural balance.   Addicted to weaving is not exactly late-night drunken binges territory, but it delivered a resounding aha moment, nonetheless.

Mars retrograde in Libra (my midheaven) found me wrong – granted less tragically wrong than I have been previously – but still very wrong.  In my case (as astutely noted by The Oracle of John Dee), the acquisition of knowledge and the eternal quest for understanding caused my suffering.

How poignantly 9th house Virgo.  Natal Sun/Uranus/Pluto hashing out the square delivered both an unquenchable thirst for knowledge, as well as the subsequent realization of chaos as I was pitched headfirst from the blasted tower.
Perfection issues much ?
How hilariously apt.
Only two more hits to go.

Despite all my errors, much has gone right, and I am working very hard at two jobs with very little if any time off.  I am moving slow (still moving) with a lovely Saturn opposite Moon transit – I am sober as a judge.  This is a good thing.
I am adapting well in some areas and for this I am thankful.

navajo sand paintingHow to be adept at adaptability.

1. StructureCull the trivial. Know your peak Hours, Moons, Transits – work with them.
2.  Know your Elements – Your natal Moon and Mercury, how they operate in differing elements that alter vibrations – work with the energies as they transit.

Moon = Emotions, sensitivities, comforts
Mercury = Thought processes, communications

Moon or Mercury in fire is outspoken and inspiring
Moon or Mercury in earth is practical, slow and steady
Moon or Mercury in air is fast, thoughtful and social

Moon or Mercury in water is
nurturing and feeling

3. Know your Moon phases.
New Moon = new beginnings, instinctual re-birthing
Cresent = breakthrough, formation of future through the past
First Quarter = active pioneers, here to change things
Gibbous = need to perfect, analytical, learning truth
Full Moon = completion, exploring ideas/relationships/goals
Disseminating = distribution of knowledge, communicators
Last Quarter = re-examination of self, contemplation
Balsamic = quiet visionaries, loners, distilled wisdom

4. Know your Mercury Rx stations.  The retrograde period is intensified around stations, note this and give extra time + heaps of patience around travel, communications and machinery.

With these things in mind, you can plan peak productivity times, craft rituals and ceremonies in your life accordingly, work the cosmic energies to your advantage for ultimate balance and harmony.

Homing IN

Red Fox Richard PetersRichard Peters

For two years, Professor Hynek Burda of the University of Duisburg-Essen in Germany studied the hunting behavior of eighty-four wild red foxesHe discovered that the foxes have a higher success rate catching prey when their heads are oriented north.

He suggests that the fox tweaks its head position, using ear canals to ‘estimate the distance of its prey by moving forward until the sound source is in a fixed relationship to the magnetic field’.  Directional preference biology here.

Hunting was observed in different seasons, habitats, times of day and vegetation. Of 592 jumps observed, 72.5 percent of successful attacks were made when the foxes aligned themselves about 20 degrees off from magnetic north.  Attacks from other directions were mostly unsuccessful.

The study adds that grazing and resting cattle and deer prefer to orient their body axes in north – south direction.  This may be to provide constant directional reference, which helps to quickly synchronize movement of individuals in herds when danger strikes.

Fascinating !
I am a 9th house Virgo Sun/Uranus/Pluto, intrigued by polarities, solar magnetics, earth energies such as the Taos Hum etc..  Investigation of this natural directional preference phenomena is ongoing with me.

North is ruled by Cancer; South by Capricorn
Foxes are ruled by Mercury; Magnetics by Uranus

Mercury / Uranus are lower / higher octaves of one another, respectively.

I am Capricorn rising with Mercury at MC, Mars rising in Sagittarius quintile Uranus.  I have a great sense of direction, rarely get lost, naturally, inexplicably, ‘know’ where magnetic north is.
A friend of mine with Capricorn Moon opposite Cancer Mercury in poor aspect in the 11th has a terrible sense of direction, can’t even give directions to get to her house from work.
Curious quirk when viewed through the lens of astrology, yes ?

From the first time I did reiki I chose / knew to orient myself North – South, with North at my back.  In my natal chart, Moon is (exalted) in Taurus in the North(west) quadrant acting as a fulcrum – opposite biggie Neptune in 11 & trine (Sun/Uranus) Pluto in 9.
Perhaps this is why I intuitively chose it as a position of starting strength.

I have read many differing opinions regarding which direction to sit for heightened meditation, which direction provides more restful sleep, but I still choose North-South because it feels right to me.

birds of a feather

I’ve been thinking about Saturn, totems, time, family, promises and bonds.

Totem poles are carved to delineate family ancestry, clan history, folklore or real life, or to commemorate a particular individual.

A widespread hawk swooped down today as I was driving and landed in the median next to me.  (No, I am not going to tell you if he landed left or right – time in my life is fluid, in flux, always.)

We were in synch – hawk landed at the exact moment I passed – just as I was speaking my heart aloud.  Yes exact is the term I use because in that moment my words formed a bond.  Hard to explain, but messages from my brother are accentuated in hawks – hawk messages are exclamation points.

Hawks form a bridge between past and present.
Hawk was a manifestation of Grand Air Trine meets physical plane

My brother and Father recently visited in an intuitive reading, via Mercury, Pluto, and Sun in Capricorn….totems, time, family, promises and bonds.

I feel their presence, sometimes more than others, but then I feel your presence as I write this too.  You…yeah you !  My readers, wondering where I am leading you…and showing up regardless of the strange paths I takemany heartfelt thanks (deep bow).

So you are wondering why I speak of hawk, when a macaw greeted you at the door ?

Life is not so easily explained.

Many times the larger electro-magnetic spectrum is not apparent until the faceted human crystal is turned, attuned, Neptuned to the proper frequency.

What is said two years ago may not make sense until tomorrow.
A
bird of the SUN, a Macaw, enlightens me
Is it You ?
Or is it Me ?
Most likely it is US.

Macaws are bold, colorful and Mercurial – they are very intelligent observers, mimics that communicate bird (Uranian) world – – to human (Saturnian) world.  The Macaw is a builder of bridges; an ambassador, a diplomat (Libra).  Clever and cheeky – they watch, pull pranks, turn jokes to delight and amuse. (Leo)

Macaws ARE portals between worlds.

Mercurial Macaws can also be repetitive copycats that speak without thinking.  Their words can be hollow, shallow, gossipy and twisted to be pleasing to the ear for a time, but not necessarily grounded, or in any way promisorial in nature.  Tricky pranksters that enjoy a leg – pull, they are master manipulators, who enjoy clowning around – not necessarily on any shared emotional time schedule, if you get my drift.

Macaws in my head are thinkbirdtankbrains : Mercury Uranus Libra and Leo.
Most importantly, the Hyacinth Macaws pictured above are red listed.
Thoughts ?
