This is one of my fave decks – The Book of Doors, obviously Egyptian.
The book is fantastic, very scholarly – knitting the universe together, granting sideways divinations / perspective shifts which I adore !

During all this Sekhmet work yesterday, I pulled one card for the answer to:
What is Sekhmet trying to tell us with these Eclipses ?
As always, highest intent for good resulting in ultimate manifestation for insight, success.

AAH
Family of the Moon (mind)
:::Note Mercury/Uranus conjunction at Lunar Eclipse :::
The maternal Vulture and the paternal Bull characterize this family.
The city of Ammon is considered the navel of Egypt – Venus rules navels, which is worthy of note with these Eclipses.  Our Milky Way is the Cosmic Cow, providing nourishment, stability and the fixed grounding of the bull. (Taurus)

The Moon and Saturn are bound by the number 28.
Moon orbits Earth in 28 days
Saturn orbits Sun in 28 years.
Saturn is the higher octave of the Moon  – – Fascinating, yes..?
Submultiple of 28 – 7 marks a woman’s biological fertility cycles (lunar)
7 also marks human cell replacement.  In the human body, all cells are replaced within a period of 7 years, and every 28 years a karmic change will take place, which is also known as a Saturn Return.

KHONSU
From Khens, “To travel”.
Khonsu once represented the phases of the moon, he was a messenger of the gods  called The Traveller.  Short distance travel/messages are Mercury; Jupiter, long.
When his father became known as Amon-Ra, Khonsu became
identified as a young sun god, associated with the moon and sun.
See the image above – Khonsu wears the crescent of new moon surmounted by the moon and sun united in an eclipse.

Eclipses are particularly powerful for magical work.
Trust, more re: this later….

Khonsu holds the scepters representing reunion of spirit, soul and body unified in resurrection.   Lunar phases were the first way of measuring time (Saturn), ruling the tides in harmony with the cosmic law of Maat (who is considered the intelligence of Sekhmet).

Khonsu represents rejuvenation in the body
Esp. fluid functions of the blood and reproductive organs.
He makes the sap rise.

With all of this in mind, as well as what I wrote in yesterday’s post regarding these Venusian themed eclipses….

Khonsu represents Exorcism of mind or body.

Peace

Moon conjunct Venus in Aries

Moon conjunct Venus is sweet and flexible, tender and romantic.

Aries is the sign of new beginnings. Creative ideas are tiny seeds beginning to sprout in the waxing crescent phase of the moon.

Nurture and tend your visions and creations, soon Moon will join Jupiter in Taurus the sign of Lunar exaltation.

The time of emotion and fire – driven ideas and inspiration will shift to earth and the need to produce and create will dominate.

where Gaia rests

Message from Spirit

Full moon card is extraordinarily appropriate –
Full Moons happen when the Sun is opposite Moon, and Gaia is in the middle.

Sun is the male, ego, ambition
Moon is the female, instinct, emotion

Oppositions are finding the balance between the two energies.
The middle ground is where Gaia rests in the sky.
Our home.
(Cancer rules the home)
 Moon rules Cancer and represents the Cosmic Mother.

Interesting during this lunation we have a need to restrict in a Venus ruled sign trying to find balance with the need to expand in the other Venus ruled sign.

Venus rules love, art, money, and harmony.
Venus rules Libra of balance.
Venus rules Taurus of Earth.

What does this spread say to you..?

Lunar Lore

The Moon moves fast, spends about 2 days in each sign, it navigates the entire zodiac in 27.33 days.

According to Ye Olde Farmer’s Almanac tradition, here is how to set the best times for surgery dates.

First look to the Man of the Signs drawing above to see which sign rules which part of the human body.
Then look to the see what sign the Moon falls in.
Choose a time when the moon is in the sign furthest away from the area you will be having surgery on.

For instance if having surgery on the head or face, schedule the appointment when the moon is in Pisces for best results.

Also watch for full moons and avoid surgery at these times as the moon rules the ocean tides and water, and human blood is 80 % water.  The blood flows more freely and is slower to clot during full moons.  Some also give 3 days on either side of the full moon as a time to avoid surgery because of the increase of blood flow.

During the Last Quarter and New Moon times, blood flow is more sluggish and is better for healing and resting.
Keep in mind, I am not a medical doctor, this is Farmer’s Almanac lore and wisdom, not medical advice.

Ever wonder why during dark moons you only feel like being quiet and lounging with a book ?
Now you know ~ your blood flow is slightly reduced, meaning less oxygen throughout the blood stream, it is a time for respite.

Hair ?
For increase of growth, cut between the New and Full Moon.
For thicker hair, cut on the Full Moon.  (My boss swears by this !)
To decrease growth, Full to New Moon (plucking, shaving, dyeing)

The past is behind us, the future is unformed and the present unfolds quickly.
Detach, accept the impermanence of all things.

The breath is born (inhale).
The breath lives (oxygen in our blood).
The breath dies (exhale).

Each inhalation is cleansing, each exhalation a release of the old and impure.

The old gives way to the new.
This is nature’s way.

give and take

John Francis Bongiovi, Jr.  LIVES !!

Woo Hoo !
That freaky internet rumor yesterday gave me the heebie jeebies.  I spent March 2 with him one year (his birthday) and it was great !!
Jon is a 5th house Pisces Sun and Venus- very generous, compassionate– check out his donation based New Jersey restaurant Soul Kitchen !

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Jon inspired this post, by his lifelong generosity.  Pisces is the sign of compassion, the cosmos, everyone as a collective.  Jon is a Pisces Sun in the 5th house, which is the natural home of the Sun, the sign of Leo.  (Leos are 5th house, have manes/hair.  ahem. Bon Jovi.  exactly ! )
Sun rules Leo and Leo rules the heart.
Pisces is the sign of compassion and caring.
Leos are typically generous, the Sun (rules generosity) ‘shines’ on them, and they radiate sunshine. Just ask one, they’ll tell ya!   haha
Leos don’t own the Sun, we all share it.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Where is your Sun ?
That is where you are generous – you give of that sign and house.  That is where you spread sunshine to others, where you have more to give, and do so.  The Sun shines steadily, it is the evenstar, it does not wax and wane.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Now look to the Moon in your natal chart.  This is where you and your life fluctuate, your feelings are involved, you are sensitive and needy.   This is where you want someone at your back, where you ask for help.
Picture the Lunar phases in your mind’s eye…as the Moon waxes and wanes and travels through each sign, your feelings, moods, ability to adapt and imagine, and your instincts will ebb and flow.  You are more likely to take in the sign and house where Luna dwells.
adaptation, improvisation
Tonight’s fortune cookies are spot – on !
Sun, (coming up to exact conjunction with ) Saturn conjunct Mercury in the last degree of Libra which is conjunct Venus in Scorpio.  Mercury in the last degrees can be the overflowing cup of communication, so be mindful of your thoughts and speech.
Restriction and what others are doing is on the mind and in the heart now.  Keep the faith and stay positive, define your goals.
This stellium of energies is in opposition to the energies of Moon which just entered Taurus and is approaching Jupiter. Moon opposition will pass quickly, while the Mercury and Venus opposition to Jupiter will last longer.
The combined energies of the stellium and Moon/Jupiter are both square Pluto.   Steady as she goes~
Adaptation, improvisation. – Morphius
Disseminating Toro moon spreads seeds of knowledge gained at the full moon.  Toro moon is patient, steady and likes peaceful surroundings.  Enjoy the break before it lands in restless Gemini…
