Pyromance with me ?

The long night of winter is coming.  

I have a thing for scruff, leather and swords ~> a hero with a taste for adventure thing.
When the lights go out my Sagittarius Mars needs a hero handy with a quiver of arrows, that wields a sword, a saber or a side arm – better. yet. all. four.

Sag Mars loves the treasure hunt, the circus caravan, to run and run and run  on a wild merry chase of discovery.

Mars in Sagittarius needs freedom.
Mars in Sagittarius needs fire.
Mars in Sagittarius needs mental gymnastics.

In the natal chart, Mars represents fire, energy, desires, men, husband, and the blade, the weapon.

In my case, Sag Mars is in the 11th quintile Uranus – science freaks and geeks and astrology (Uranus rules) get me off.  My men absolutely must have an open mind and be open to my bizarre explorations into the higher (and inner Virgo) realms.
I think, learn, teach, heal and do absolutely everything (Virgo is daily routines) my own way.  Uranus. !  aka. Insert ‘self’ as prefix to any noun…self- taught, for example.

Neptune – cosmic waters of prophecy and intuition – is my most highly aspected.

This is the fire I built to burn old documents – remnants of my married life up in flames.

True, happened – misunderstandings cleared; vacation starts after work tonight.

There is a small fox – magical cunning shapeshifter, quick and invisible if need be.

American Indian tribes, the Blackfoot and Apache both have legends of fox stealing fire of the sun and bringing it to the people.

Pyromancy has ancient roots.  Once humans discovered fire they began to gather for warmth, cooking, companionship and stories.  Tribal cultures have gazed into fires across the ages of time, quietly waiting for the salamander (fire) spirits to reveal messages of the gods.  Moses for instance, received divine messages on Mount Sinai from the burning bush.

For cleansing:
Write on a piece of paper those things you want to be rid of in your life, write your negativity and fears onto the paper, be specific !  Say a prayer, a blessing aloud and toss it into the fire to release it.  Renew and cleanse your spirit through fire.
Fire is a source of purification, sacrifice and renewal.

Pluto is the planet of sex, death, metamorphosis, transmutation and rebirth. 

Its energy is born of the internal fire  – the spark of the soul – it replenishes and regenerates by the laws of spirit and  thermodynamics.

Start by gazing at fire… go quiet…fade into the zone….images and impressions will appear.  Trust your instincts, these impressions are whispers from the cosmos within and surrounding you.

Bedouin diviners believed sounds and smells of fire communicated spirits as well. Bright, clear crackling fire brought good fortune, dull and sputtering was less fortunate.
Fire smoke can also be read…you have heard the saying smoke follows beauty while camping, yes..?  It stems from capnomancy (kapnos is greek for smoke) – divination by smoke.  Thin straight smoke plume is fortunate; billowing smoke less fortunate.

Pele is the Hawaiian goddess of fire, lightning, and volcanoes.

She who shapes the sacred land  lives in the Halema’uma’u crater (click) and has been spilling lava on the southeastern shore of the big island almost continuously since 1983, adding nearly 70 acres of land to the coastline.

Pele is asteroid 2202 at astro.com, go check her out in your chart.  She is currently nearing 9 degrees Libra.  She is conjunct my MC and Mercury in my natal chart, makes sense, I am always going on about earth and rocks and Gaia energies, and Gneiss IS metamorphic.

Gaea (greek for Earth) is asteroid number 1184.  Gaia was the great mother of all: the heavenly gods and Titans were descended from her union with Uranus (the sky), the sea-gods from her union with Pontus (the sea), the Giants from her mating with Tartarus (the hell-pit) and mortal creatures were sprung or born from her earthy flesh (click).

Gaea Rx is currently 11 degrees Scorpio.  In my natal earth mama Gaia is conjunct Venus in Leo 8th at 29 degrees conjunct fixed star Regulus (click). (Watcher of the North, Archangel Raphael, Divine Healer, angel of Providence that watches over all humanity.)  Sweeet, love it !

Venus is conjunct Moon in Taurus at 22 degrees, and that’s exact opposite my natal Neptune.  I love  this photo (Neptune rules film and art) and this is my home (Moon rules) and a spider’s web (Neptune rules nets) that has a mysterious little teenie weenie web on the far upper right.
Moon & Neptune rule mysteries and mine are opposite each other in my natal.

Anyway, my lunch is over, but I am curious…how are you Feeling (Moon) about Art, Love and Money all the things Venus rules ?

Taurus says it’s mine, so whatever your feelings are, Own Them !

birth of sound

Tons of fire in the sky wanting to get going ~>
Sun, Moon, Uranus, North Node of Destiny.
(Mercury Retrogrades into Pisces tomorrow)

Saturn Rx is in Air working out the balance.
Pluto, Venus, Jupiter and Mars Rx are in Earth getting the work done.
Neptune, Chiron (and soon Mercury Rx) are in Water going deep, feelers out.

Our spirit, security, what we ‘call home’, what frees us is where the action is.
The directions we are taking and the solutions we are making -or breaking- revolve around Sun, Moon, Uranus and Pluto moving closer to square.

Actions we take regarding these matters are in creative opposition to the status quo of Capricorn Earth and Pluto in residence.  Pluto is struggling to unhitch the wagon, free the limitations of your Capricorn house and let your wild horses run free.

Aries is in my 3rd, communication, teaching, writing – North Node is just over the 4th house finish line, so I am doing this work in order to pay for and keep my house.

Capricorn is in my first and my outlook, my vibe, what I AM doing is definitely undergoing major shifts and metamorphosis.  I am working with Pluto as best I can, fighting against the change is harder than accepting and just going with it.

Serious winds of change happening last few days, major wind gusts out of the south all morning that suddenly switched to out of the north in the afternoon.

Swan sighting on my lake that sent me and the neighbor outside to in the early am to gawk.  I have lived on this lake for over 10 years and have seen swans twice.


This lovely white fellow is a juvenile tundra swan.

Swan totem:
To the Greeks, the swan was the bird of Apollo.
Apollo, the god of music, was associated with the swan because of the mythic belief that the swan would sing with exquisite beauty at the point of death–the swan song.

The Greek love goddess Aphrodite had three bird familiars: the dove, swan, and goose. A sixth century B.C.E. statue shows her standing on a giant swan; in one hand she carries a sacred casket, symbol of her secret knowledge of death and rebirth. In another terra cotta image, Aphrodite sits on a throne made of two swans.

Hindu deities often interchanged the goose and the swan, which represented breath and spirit. How cool is that ?!  The swan was a mount for the goddess Sarasvati and sometimes Brahama. The heavenly nymphs, called the apsaras, were often portrayed as swans. The goddess Devi rides a swan that wears a necklace.

Several Celtic folk legends tell of the mystical sacred swan. Its feathers were used in ritual cloaks by the Bards since swans are connected with music and song. People who shape-shifted into swans were identified by gold or silver chains around their necks.

Norse legend also speaks of this shape-shifting as one form which the Valkyries could take; they were called swan maidens. As an alchemical symbol, the swan stood for Mercury.

Crown of Courage

Moose as power animal brings contradictions – knowing the path of balance between worlds.  Self – confidence and the power of psychic vision and protection are the gifts of Moose.

Moose is the largest of the deer family growing a palmate (leaf – shaped) rack of antlers, unlike others of the deer family that grow dendritic (twig – like) antlers, making moose easily recognizable. Moose antlers represent psychic antenna, sensitivity to vibrations and depth of perception, keen sight and insight.

Moose do not herd like other members of the deer family, they forage for plants on land and water in solitude.  Moose are good swimmers making them equally at home on land or in water.

Moose is gangly, yet graceful and swift if stirred to action.  They are not aggressive unless startled, angered, or protecting young — then they will charge – aiming what is known as ‘The Crown of Courage’ – (rack of antlers) at you.  Aries and Mars rule fight and courage.
Interesting as I have Saturn Rx (rules antlers) in Aries trine Mars.

Autumn is the power time for Moose, for it is mating season.  Moose power time aligns with late Virgo, Libra, and early Scorpio.

Adult moose use antlers to fight for a mate in the autumn, then the antlers are shed, to conserve energy in the winter.  When the antlers regrow in the spring, only taking 3 – 5 months to develop, they are covered with skin called ‘velvet’, which is shed when the antlers are fully grown.

Moose brings the gifts of vision and revision, the ability to follow fresh uncharted territories, new horizons, and swift progress on the material plane.   Antlers, ruled by Saturn represent earth and business, as Saturn rules Capricorn – home of the 10th house of career and status.

I dreamt of moose in the weeks prior to starting this site. I have seen moose in Colorado many times, but I live in the midwest, so moose are a bit out of the ordinary, I have only dreamt of them once.  So Moose medicine was good for me.  I love wild things, (Uranus) solitude (Saturn, Neptune), and I immerse myself in metaphysics and occult studies.   Neptune (mysticism) is my most highly aspected planet, and Saturn (antlers) is my chart ruler.
Moose medicine told me it was time to tune IN and start broadcasting.

upside down and backwards

In typical Uranian fashion the events of the last few days have been insightful, surprising and weird.   Just how I like ’em !

Witness the energy flux around Mars as it ‘slows in the sky’ to go retrograde this evening.

Last night, my Mars quintile Uranus was sending off bolts out of the blue ~>
I shall list for you…
New Moon in Aquarius was bringing an electrical zing to the dark moon to be followed by Mars retrograde this evening.
There was a CME alert.
There was a Thor’s Hammer thunderstorm in the middle of January over my house, with lightning flashing all around me while I wrote the el Duderino post.
A fly (again is the middle of January here – not fly season)  landed on the computer screen while I wrote then landed near my ear just to make a point.
Flies fly, and flight and aviation is Uranian.

Compared with simple eyes, compound eyes possess a very large view angle, and can detect fast movement and, in some cases, the polarization of light.

Uranus is the higher octave of Mercury – it is spiritual sight, etheric vision.
I have Sun conjunct Uranus / Pluto in Virgo where Mars is currently active.

Flies see a million things all at once, are speedy and aerodynamic landing upside down and backwards if need be.

hawkeye

Whenever I see a hawk I think of my brother.
He had Sun, Moon, Venus and Mercury all in Aquarius.

Aquarius is ruled by Uranus and both rule flight and birds.
Aquarius is an air sign, although Aquarius is called the water-bearer because February brings the purifying spring rains.

Birds / Air = messages and communication
The message may be written or spoken, but it may also be intuition (Uranus) calling.


I was followed by hawks when my brother died…they were everywhere and I was dreaming of them too, making artwork revolving around hawks and I found it comforting.  It eventually slacked off a bit, then happened only occasionally.

Neptune entered the fixed electrical sign of Aquarius in 1998, Neptune is my most highly aspected planet.  In 1998 my life turned ugly real quick.  Then it got worse.  Those of you who have read my blog awhile know I am quite keen to get Neptune out of Aquarius and back into Pisces.  

A few months ago hawk came again.   Hawk swooped towards me, low over my head late summer while I stood in my driveway, then flew over my house.  Not long after, maybe a day or two, hawk flew me home.  I was in my truck and hawk was overhead following me into my driveway then flew over the hood of my truck into a nearby tree.  Hawk brought changes.


Hawk medicine brings swift changes.  Air messages are not only spoken but also represent thoughts and where they lead.  Thought is the basis of future action, use hawk higher vision to make wise choices.
Wind is the life of hawk, signaling a need to use intent to cleanse the body with each breath of air.  Breathing and quiet meditation makes higher / sharper vision possible.

Observe where the winds of life are blowing, and ride the updrafts when possible.  Hawk reassures us we are on the correct path using keen instincts and clarity of vision.  Hawk has long-range vision, sees the truth and symbolizes that new opportunities are about to become visible.
