Four on the Floor

Viggo’s filmography is linked above, his artworks (as well as artworks of his friends) including paintings, photographs, poetry and music can be found at Perceval Press, also linked on the sidebar.  His paintings were also featured in A Perfect Murder.  I have written about Viggo before here and here.

He’s a savvy, soft-spoken traveler who prefers privacy, though he surfaces to fight (speak) for causes he cares deeply for…Democracy Now earlier this week, here.
( I will relay Viggo/Aragorn astrology throughout, note resemblance to Strider above.)

Viggo is one of five knights from The Lord of the Rings production; the others being Ian Holm, Ian McKellen, Christopher Lee and Peter Jackson.  Viggo was knighted on April 16th 2010 by Queen Margarethe II of Denmark.  This pleases me, knights are Jupiter.

Viggo horsing aroundAn accomplished horseman in his spare time, Mortensen requested Aragorn be given more saddle time than was originally scripted. He also kept his on-screen horse nearby during the entire principal photography schedule in order to ride in his off-hours and strengthen his relationship with the horse.  He also did all his own stunts in Hidalgo, including a breakneck bareback ride that even the stuntman couldn’t handle.  (Viggo has Saturn in Sagittarius: truth in the work, steady on a horse)

Yes, I think Viggo is Sagittarius rising, and yes, there is horse info in the GMA Viggo links above, although I am adding a recap and an addition/correction, here.

viggo chillinViggo is a late degree Libra Sun conjunct North Node of Destiny conjunct Venus (rules Libra) within a degree.  He is a man of balance and thoughtful consideration, promoting justice and fairness in all he does.  The majority of personal planets are in air, he’s a thinker/communicator.  Mercury in Scorpio is the lone personal planet water placement – perceptive and sharp, nothing escapes notice. Here lies the power of mental prowess, regeneration and rebirth, intensity of focus. Viggo is a life path Eight.

Outbound actions (Mars retrograde aka internalized, revision mode) involving observation, thinking, speaking are versatile, spontaneous yet alert to stir compassion (Neptune). Mars Rx quincunx (health/altitude adjustments) Scorpio Neptune (healing spirit conjunct Mercury) informs improvisation  aka thinking on his feet. 

Gemini Mars Rx squares Virgo Pluto – Mercury rules both signs – he knows the power of words, the transmutation they hold.  Words…what odd things…singular symbols strung together like prayer beads or notes on a scale – they form unified shapes, summoning mental images, evoking emotions that enable collective understanding.  Scorpio Neptune/Mercury/Jupiter measures words to the point of struggle, for to speak is to finitely define what is in essence esoteric, alchemical and forever in flux.

Viggo is a word wizard – conscientiously smithing his craft.  Mars retrograde quincunx Scorpio Neptune is forever making adjustments, resurrecting or furrowing the mindfield searching for new subconscious emotional reserves.  Fluctuating Aquarius Moon also supports this restless quest for information but from the mental perspective – intake and processing of moods, feelings, vibes of surrounds are highly instinctive and intellectual  in nature.

Viggo3Viggo is kind, artistic, thoughtful, informed, enigmatic, funny and quirky. He actually quit speaking for a month (4 weeks) to better understand his role as a deaf/mute woodsman in The Passion of Darkly Noon.  Released in 1995 (presumably filmed in early/mid ’94) Viggo was having a Jupiter transit to his stellium near natal Neptune with Saturn in Pisces in trine to same with Uranus/Neptune conjunct in Capricorn square his Libra Sun, Venus, NNode conjunction. Curiously, the social/outers were all retrograde mid ’94.  I knew and loved this story, but went digging up the deets for y’all, and the story is pure Viggo – read it here.

Desire to penetrate the mysteries of pure creative heart and soul (Leo) as well as higher mind and communication (Uranus) are enhanced by Jupiter (student/teacher) square Uranus in Leo (creation/curiosity/play).  The drive to experience differences and see and think through another’s eyes and experiences lends to heightened growth of the craft.  (Sun/NNode/Venus in Libra)  Jupiter in Scorpio square Uranus in Leo seeks to disrupt complacency by investigating all manners of philosophy on life and death – each deserves respect (Jupiter).  The Road – the only movie I felt was so intense that I had to stop half way through and walk it off a bit before beginning again.  That’s high praise from a Plutonic.

Mercury rules eyesight, Uranus (its higher octave) rules the aetheric sight.  In Viggo’s case, Jupiter (conjunct Mercury, square Uranus – I think it’s his ruler) links the two.  He’s a philosopher grounded by Saturn in Sagittarius – he sees how ideas manifest on the material plane, it informs not only his philosophies, but also his self-discipline.

Sagittarius Saturn conjunct ascendant in good aspect (trine Uranus, sextile Venus exact) is serious about the long-term ramifications of any and all energetic exchanges.  Saturn also gives structure and support (work) to wildcard Uranus in Leo.  Uranus in Leo insists on creative diversity, fingers in all the pies.  Double fixation (Leo/Uranus) driven by independence, innovation, invention and switch-hit artistic perceptions, he’s the courageous boho gypsy revolutionary who knows that all that glitters is not gold.  Uranus separates from Leo (rules gold).  Viggo desires respect for the craft, understanding, co-operation and kindness rather than fame, recognition or piles of money.  He is a humanitarian, who cares deeply about people.  (See Perceval Press.)

The Riddle of Strider

For FrodoPersonal: This tiny moment above was one of my (many) favorite RotK scenes, subtle indeed.  Got me right in the feels, speechless.  I respect your opinion, but I humbly disagree.

Viggo has Libra Sun quintile (genius expression) Uranus (in the sign Sun rules, Leo)  indicating boho creative spirit expression, forming strong bonds with others – while remaining individually independent and true to self within said partnerships.

This aspect signals awareness of sensations in the aether heretofore unspoken – felt with the heart only.  The ego separates, the heart unites.  Sun is both heart and ego and both are electric – a conscious choice (Venus) resides in this aspect.

If you have seen The Prophecy, then you know why I chose to look up Lucifer, I very briefly wrote about it here.  Damage Control: It is a representation of the fight between good and evil raging within us all.  Please also note Venus the morning star is Lucifer, Venus the evening star is Hesperus and the pentagram is the shape of the her orbit.  See it here.  Viggo has Lucifer in Capricorn, trine Pluto and quintile Venus; both exact, hence the role in the creative arts.  Note also that many astrologers don’t give account to anything but tight conjunctions for asteroids.  I pitch ’em out there for interest, flavor.

Previous post here.  In J.R.R. Tolkien’s mythology, Varda is queen of the stars, aka the star-kindler.  Varda, the bestower of blessings is in exact conjunction with Viggo’s natal Venus.  This pleases me… for two reasons.
One: Varda bestows charm and grace upon Viggo through Venus.
Two: The ring (Venus rules rings) Aragorn wore was called Elessar, the Elfstone, the stone of Eärendil.  Crafted by the Noldor, it was of the deepest green and held the light of the Sun, bestowing healing powers upon the wearer.  The ring was given to him as a gift (Venus) from Galadriel (for his marriage to Arwen) at the time the Fellowship left Lothlórien.  Aragorn took Elessar as his royal name as was foretold.  History of Elessar here and here.

Fear is ruled by Saturn, Neptune.  The octaves of thought perception: Mercury and Uranus also factor highly (anxiety).
Strong placements of these planets, hard aspects to them (especially Sun/Moon) will indicate a tendency toward fear (difficulty).  Hard aspects to the 8th or 12th house will indicate (repressed) fears. *

Mars strong in good aspect indicates fearlessness – the same holds true for Pluto, the higher octave of Mars, and aspects to it.

What is the primal baseline ?
Fright.
1. Fight
2. Flight
3. Freeze

What actions are taken in a fearful moment depends on the natal chart.*
As well as progressions of said natal chart and transits to both.  Planetary energies will lend support and confidence or add to stress and panic to what is present in the natal.

Being a Capricorn rising (Saturn-ruled) with Mercury at high noon, Uranus conjunct Sun and Moon opposite Neptune most highly aspected with squares to the 8th, I am familiar with fear.  I have been working on it for years…now it is more akin to caution.  I work to keep my mega-reckless Mercury/Uranus/Sagittarius energy in check.

I will not fear.
Fear is the mind-killer.

Hard aspects (see above) to these planets may indicate fear and/or trouble involving:
Sun – life, father, children, that which you create
Moon – home, family, mother, women, emotions, public
Mercury – thinking, speaking, neighbors, children, driving
Venus – love, money, relationships, bonds, disharmony
Mars – aggression, men, competition, leading, fire
Jupiter – wide outdoors, flying/foreign, stupidity, clergy, judges
Saturn – small spaces, age, falling, breaking, caves, change
Uranus – cages, boredom, electrics, abandonment (no ground), heights
Neptune – that which is hidden/confusing, lies, lack of art/empathy, noisy crowds
Pluto – superficiality, transparency, apathy, peacefulness

Keep in mind the hard aspects ensure growth ala friction.  Trines and sextiles are fabulous grace periods but not particularly keen on forcing flowerings.  Just sayin’.

With apologies for being distracted by fighting my personal deamons on my own turf, I am writing a quick post today.
Moon conjunct Pluto and Ferguson explodes, sad state of our country and people living in fear.  A similar, yet thankfully not fatal experience close to me here.
I obviously support equality with Libra at Midheaven.

Truly an example of Shaman square Wizard aka Uranus square Pluto.  Previous Uranus – Pluto aspects accompanied these herstorical growth periods.

This might give you an idea what we are in for with the last 2 of 7 exact hits coming around the bend. These slow-moving outer planets are in aspect NOW, with the aspect growing closer until these exact dates.

Summon Your Shaman

Scorpio Mercury conjunct Saturn intensifies focus, clarity and tests structural foundations of any and all thought patterns.  Mercurial Metamorphosis may run a bit doom and gloom with this aspect due to the influence of Saturn.
 
Rather than let restriction and melancholy spiral out of control, I suggest:

A: Use your hands & your head
     1 create art
     2 journal it, talk to a mentor
     3 learn sign language or mudras

B: Organize Time
     1 lists/order of import
     2 goals/plans
     3 schedule work & rest

This aspect is truly great for focus – in tandem with Sagittarius Sun/Venus exploring a new inspiration is the way to keep from obsessing over the past and the mistakes that lie there.  Ditto with saturation Scorpio Saturn applying (out of sign) square to Neptune in Pisces – create ! 

Use the struggle of Scorpio – purge and eliminate what lies buried in the depths.  Concentrate on your own healing.  Try teaching yourself how to transform pain into power through surrendering to the flow of life.  Appreciate the inspiration it holds in small pleasures and moments of grace.

The next couple of days are brilliant for focused analysis and cathartic release through clearing your head, heart and home.  Fixed signs DO change – via the assistance of Venus, Sun, Pluto, Uranus – summon your inner shaman, create your own magick !

I’m just going to go ahead and say it.

I don’t get along well with many women.
I really don’t get along with people in general.

Moon (public) opposite Neptune in 11
8th house Venus (others) conjunct Jupiter (lots of others) in square to Neptune 11
Sun (self/eg.me) conjunct Uranus (groups/society) conjunct Pluto (struggle) in 9

I have tried getting around it…
I thought maybe being online not directly dealing face-to-face with people that my energy would be better received.
Not so.
Especially having Sun/Uranus/Pluto in 9 aka The Internet.
I have power, respect my power, show my power and am typically:
1 ignored
2 power-tripper magnet
I outlined the herstory of Uranus Pluto (Sun) before here on Serenity Now.

Right now Saturn is square natal Venus and I am frankly, over it.
The combo of recent astro to my natal is a mofo titan trip – Ballroom Blitz.

My saving graces are:
1. North Node in Aries – I will keep going no matter what anyone thinks or says.
2. I am Capricorn rising, Saturn-ruled (fall in Aries and retrograde) with Saturn trine Mars.

Saturn and Mars are men.  (Sun also)
As a rule, we get along just fine.
Less games, less competitive BS.
I can be who I am without them getting all judgmental & up themselves like prissy drama queens when I stand in my power.

Strong women who have enough confidence in themselves to accept and in fact applaud another woman’s power in their presence ?
We also get along just fine.
I know what I’m doing.  I study and hone my craft, and I know if another is lacking in the remedial basics but being a blowhard power-tripper despite it.

Gone.
You dug your own grave.

I have only so much patience for rampant ignorance.
You don’t like me – find the door.
It is what it is.
I for one, am looking forward to Saturn the hell out of Scorpio.

Dance of Destiny

Seventeen degree Mars is square both North and South Node of Destiny.

Mars is exalted in Capricorn, going great gusto (even if behind the scenes on a waning moon in Libra) driving the engines of our lives with personal power and desire to not only live – but also thrive.

Traditionally North Node of Destiny in the natal is where we are headed, it is Jupiter in nature of expression, we learn new things on the ever-expansive learning curve.  South Node of Destiny is where we are living repetition, it is the well-worn path of been there, done that, it seems stagnant and predictable, more Saturn in nature of expression.

While we watch Nodes of the Moon traverse the wheel in our lives, they indicate where the current phase of expansion is indicated.  North Node is in Libra, interp here.

What I find interesting is that Mars is not only charring away exalted in Capricorn, but also rules the Aries South Node.
Venus rules the North Node where Saturn (past experience/diplomacy) is exalted.

This speaks of the desire to finish past work on the emotional home front (Moon).  Love and money balance/trades, releasing the past and working toward the future.
We want it now !
There is work to be done – find/build the balance you seek.  Finish the old, take what you need to create a better future and move on.
The past only defines you as much as you let it.
You define you.
Every single moment holds a new chance.

Hands-on Healing

Upcoming Chiron direct has led me to dig a little deeper into healing. 
Good healers tend to have the Sun in a fire sign or Scorpio.  Uranus and Neptune strong indicate absent or faith healing, the kind of healing used in reiki attunements across time and space.

Naturopaths are strong in Virgo and Scorpio, they tend to have natal charts that show adaptability and magnetism.  Magnetic healers tend to have Scorpio strong at birth, with Sun or Rising, or Neptune in good aspect to Venus and Mercury, Jupiter trine Moon, or Mars in the 12th in good aspect.  Also note hands are Mercury ruled.

Symptoms of the ill often fluctuate with the magnetics of both the body and the earth, worsening at night when the Moon (feeling) is the stronger luminary force.  Also because healing often is taking place with the assistance of another, know that those with harmonious rising signs/6th house/Saturn aspects will indicate compatibility and therefore, greater healing exchange.  The energies will support one another, allowing greater trust, energy exchange and speedier healing to occur.

I drew a card with the question:
What need we know to help us heal with Chiron’s direct motion ?

We must free ourselves from the prisons of our own minds.  The reverberations of doubt that echo must be shaken.  Change your perspective, see your situation from a different vantage point.  Perception shifts will open the door to knowledge that will change you forever.  Keep your eyes on the outcome, not the distractions that slow your progress.  Know thyself.  Be true to your brave heart.
Chiron moves in square to Sagittarius Venus, quincunx Uranus in Aries.  Higher seeing experience/knowing meets fresh new mindsets ala Aries.  Be the change.

Easier said that done.  How do we begin to go about it?

Know their are wheels within wheels of Fire.  Creation, destruction, transformative power manifested on the material plane so we may experience and grow. This is the hero’s journey we call life.  Inspiration, sweat, blood and tears that form and shape the energy of our souls. We live, we learn.
