Earth Mama

A friend of mine recently asked her girlfriends on fb to list their girl crushes, as she didn’t have any.  I couldn’t think of any either – not any recent ones anyway. Chrissie, Joni, and the Wilson sisters..?  Well, that’s been going on for years…
Now, usually when it comes to my Venus Jupiter conjunction in Leo (love and heaps of it, especially for the creative arts) square (creative tension)  Neptune (music, film and illusion), if you ask me about crushes, I’m gonna ask, “How much time ya got ?!”  haha  (You can sift through the entries on here for the scruffy dudes if you really want to know.)

Venus square Neptune..?  It’s the escape, the other world, the dream life blooming inside my head.  I feed my imagination every chance I get.  It’s a waking meditation which allows intuitive sparks from my Mars in Sagittarius quintile Uranus to light me up !

Today a friend posted a Zooey Deschanel video, and I remembered: I have already mentioned Emmylou, (click) – she was one of my very first posts) then Patricia, now Zooey.  So I guess I have 3 recent girlcrushes, if you can call it that.  I like their work, voices, talent, their art.  It’s synastry somewhere between us that brings out my curiosity, I will follow their work.

As far as the synastry, I peeked and Zooey has Saturn conjunct my Virgo Sun/Uranus/Pluto stellium, all of which is trine her Sun/Moon/Mercury/ Part of Fortune stellium in Capricorn.  My Mercury is conjunct her Pluto and her North Node is conjunct my Venus in Leo.  My biggie Neptune is sextile her stellium as well.  (It just dawned on me…all these women I mentioned have strong Capricorn. hmmm…)

Zooey has loads of Mystical Sea Goat all conjunct her Capricorn Ascendant.
Zooey is a triple Capricorn.
Sun, Part of Fortune in 1st, Mercury spot on Ascendant, and Moon in 12th – all within 6 degrees.  (click here for another triple capricorn)

Planets conjunct the angles are stronger, and with both the luminaries conjunct her Ascendant, Zooey has presence !

Zooey has Venus exalted in Pisces quintile (genius talents- gifts of spirit) Neptune in Sagittarius !
These are the planets of the arts, and any aspect between them denotes an artist.  Venus, is the earthbound cultivated artist and personal love.  Neptune is the inspired artist, being in tune with the universe, cosmic love.  Zooey’s Venus and Neptune are both in visionary signs : I see (Sagittarius),  I believe (Pisces).

Her Capricorn stellium at the Ascendant is trine Saturn in Virgo.  Moon and Mercury are also trine Mars in Virgo (which is conjunct Jupiter).  Fair to say she is most likely a very hard worker, and organized with all that Virgo.

Uranus is at the Scorpio Midheaven in 10th showing the public she is a bit quirky and inventive with her talents, needs to switch it up a bit in career.   She is multi-talented and takes on many different projects – movies, music and she recently launched a website HelloGiggles (click).

North Node of Destiny at 29 degrees of Leo is a culmination degree in the sign of creativity.  Pluto in (Venus-ruled) Libra 9th, square Sun, Moon and Mercury, and Zooey is a powerhouse communicator through her artwork.

Sworn to protect

Ok, how adorable is Patricia Clarkson ?!  Every movie I see her in I just love.  The Station Agent, Cairo Time, are my faves.
I just had to look up her deets ~

No wonder I like her, we have good synastry…!  She has Sun, Moon, and Saturn all tightly conjunct in Capricorn all trine Pluto in Virgo, and sextile Neptune.

A quick run down of the synastry: All of Patricia’s Capricorn stuff is conjunct my ascendant.  I can’t help but love Saggos, it’s in my blood.  Her Venus is conjunct my Neptune, my Sun conjunct her North Node, her Uranus conjunct my Jupiter.

Highly ambitious, hardworking, and perceptive, she studied drama at Fordham University, where she graduated summa cum laude, and earned her MFA at the Yale School of Drama.
Patricia is cool as a cucumber and if you have seen her work, you know she is a real class act.

Mercury, Mars and Jupiter are all tightly conjunct in Sagittarius, all trine Uranus in Leo !

SoOo all the raucous fun is just busting to get out  from underneath that cool conservative Capricorn demeanor.  Venus and Neptune are both in Scorpio giving her a deep well of unseen passions that pours forth in her work.

Ape Man

Mars IS in Leo, let’s celebrate with some eye candy and showtunes !

During Tarzan the Ape Man a scene involving Jane attempting to get away from Tarzan, Miles O’Keefee found himself face to face with a full grown lion, who took on the part of the gallant gentleman saving the damsel in distress.

Lionhearted protector- escaping his holding pen, dived into the fray, apparently more intent on protecting Bo Derek than attacking Miles O’Keeffe (Miles wasn’t injured by the 500 pound cat).

 The handler was on the scene almost immediately, stopping the incident. Although neither human nor lion were injured, rumor had it that Miles O’Keeffe thereafter made a habit of checking the security of the holding pen whenever other scenes of “violence” toward Bo Derek were done, citing a deep respect for Bo Derek’s formidable self-appointed bodyguard.

Role it out

Ta DA Leos !  

O dot has rolled out the red hot carpet for the big cats !  Can’t help but look, they shine like the sun !  They are effortlessly regal…eyes giving the slow perusal before prowling after you.  RAWR !   I have Leo on my 8th house, so I’m gonna serve up an astro story sexy, scruffy-style…  *lick*
Here we have mega-Leo, Daniel : Leo Sun conjunct Mercury – Venus conjunct Mars <- ok, that’s a doozy… tres, tres sexy Leo, yes..?!   He’s gotta lotta love in that heart of his.  Best yet, he’s a humble reserved Leo (hey~ anything’s possible) with Uranus, Saturn and Neptune conjunct in Capricorn.  Unusual career in film and stage ?  Bingo !  Who to better embody a courageous, noble hero who saves the world…?

Well….how about this sexy man who also saves the world, but from the opposite side of the wheel..?!

Here we have mega-Aquarian, Elijah.  Aquarius Sun, with Mercury conjunct Mars (both square to Uranus).  I’m going with Scorpio rising here (eyelids are sleepy, sexy).  Also Scorp rising puts Uranus (the unusual) on the 29th culmination degree of the first house which rules the eyes – and Elijah is well-known for his mesmerizing blue eyes.

Elijah is definitely a communicator with so much air. Mercury is exalted in Aquarius, plus being conjunct Mars gives it an extra kick. Expansive Jupiter Rx is conjunct Saturn Rx in Libra the sign of art, beauty and balance; and Saturn Rx is exalted here – meaning he will only get better as he gets older and his retrogrades kick in.

Obviously he is handsome, artistic and despite growing up in Hollyweird, he is relatively normal – but weird enough to fascinate. (Compliment !)  He’s a really hard worker (Jupiter conjunct Saturn in Libra) who actually enjoys it (Venus in Capricorn).  He respects the art of time honored crafts and traditions and has grown up learning from mentors in the business; both film and music. I gotta pop in some Neptune music trivia on this one ~> Elijah is a total music freak; seriously a walking encyclopedia of music of all genres.  He owns his own record company named Simian Records; he has directed, filmed, and appeared in many music videos. Also a huge photography aficionado, he has lucky, expansive Jupiter -quintile (spiritual gifts)- Neptune, which rules not only film, but also music.

OK, here’s the deal…Leos and Aquarians are on the same wavelength, but on opposite sides of the wheel from each other.

Leo motto: I WILL
Aquarians motto: I KNOW.

Both signs are yang; or expressive, direct and outgoing.
Leos have an insular pride; Aquarians an Earth pride of humankind.

Call of Spirit

This week I grabbed the memoir of Ashley Judd from the library shelf, “All That Is Bitter & Sweet”.  Only having read as far as the forward and prologue, I knew I had to look up her natal chart.  Her compassion for others and her desire to end suffering washing over me with every word I read.

Ok girl, wow ! ~Sun, Mercury, Venus, Saturn, North Node and Chiron all in Aries !  She’s a bit of a little firecracker, no wonder she was a cheerleader for the Wildcats, still shows up for games and sits with the students- lotsa school spirit & pride !  What I really love to see is her obvious thirst for knowledge with her Sun (spirit), Mercury (mind), and Mars (action), in the 9th of higher learning.  Sun, Mercury and Saturn are all trine Jupiter (expansion) from Leo (ruler of the heart) to the 9th of university studies (‘Leo’ school ‘pride’).  Venus (love) is conjunct Saturn (concentration) in the 8th house of transformation via deep research.

What gives her soul (Moon) happiness is not the Hollyweird ego (square Sun) but instead, helping others (Aquarius is the humanitarian; Moon the public).  Ashley has Aquarius Moon trine Uranus (reformers) and Pluto (universal welfare) in the sign of Virgo (those who serve others) in the 2nd house of self-worth.  These reformers (Uranus and Pluto) are also trine Mars (where she places her energy) at the midheaven which is her peak of achievements.  With Chiron in the 8th house, she heals her personal wound by bringing help to the unseen victims of abuse worldwide.  The need to mother the world is also seen by Cancer on the 11th house of social consciousness.

Triple Capricorn

James Earl Jones, the multi- talented actor/speaker with the amazing voice is a triple Cap (Sun, Moon ASC all in Capricorn)  Saturn, his chart ruler [which… hee hee Star Wars fans… is the father  in the natal chart] is in the first house sandwiched between the Luminaries. (Sun and Moon)
Ahem–> all of the above conjunct Mercury (speech) trine Neptune (films).  Hello ! !
One of the most famous lines in the history of cinema ! 

The amazing thing is Mr. Jones overcame a debilitating childhood stutter to become a speaker renowned for his deep resounding voice and precise diction. For ten years he rarely spoke because of his stutter.  Reciting poems; then later an interest in theater and film became the creative vehicles to improving his speech.  Amazing !


Uranus is not only an unpredictable focal point of a massive T-square; it is also the higher octave of Mercury and part of a courageous Fire Trine which includes Mars (action) and Venus (art, vocalists).  North Node (purpose in life) is to get some Aries ram energy behind that 3rd house of speech communication.  Very cool !  Mr. Jones is a life path number 5, here to experience changes and challenges.
He has certainly risen to the occasion ~
