Samhain crossquarter day, or summer’s end, traditionally falls on the calendar date of October 31st in the Northern hemisphere, May 1st in the Southern hemisphere – though it astrologically falls several says later at 15′ Scorpio. 

Also known as All Hallows Eve, Hallowmas, and in Mexico as The Day of the Dead, it is the time of year when the veil between the world of the living and the dead is thinnest. 

Candles are lit to guide spirits to the ritual feast.  Offerings to the familiar dead (ancestors) are filled with warm memories, altars are rich with personal treasures.

Autumn marigolds spill from vases, the warm smell of cinnamon cider fills the air, tables are laden with nuts, mushrooms, pomegranates, pumpkins and squash – all in fond remembrance of the dead.

All are gifts to help loved ones on earth celebrate both life and the release to death by helping guide loved ones to the lands of eternal summer.

As I mentioned in my last post – this is a fabulous time to shed / transform unwanted memories / habits / pain and close the door to loss with a ceremony of respect for the dead. 

I have done this and found it extremely helpful – grab a pen and a big piece of paper.

We are going for total stream of consciousness writing, let it all out – no editing –  Make a list of all your trepidations, fears or unwanted habits – or better yet, all 3. 

What you feel holds you in chains, what you think is confining you, what you wrestle against to find freedom.  What you want to release, you write !

Write it all down from as far back as you feel you need to – be specific !

Know that with the intent of writing you are purging all the negativity and fearful energy from yourself onto the paper which will be released to its death.

Create a blessing, prayer, a spell that releases the energy back into the universe, cleansed and renewed by fire.

Throw your writings into the fire and watch them burn.  Envision :say aloud: what good deeds will come, describe your new life, the new hope within you as your phoenix rises in the smoke.

Libra Venus trine Jupiter Rx in Gemini : Air to Air with Mercury in flux ?  haha all kinds of interesting information is popping up, yes ?   Saw that comin’.

Neptune is stationing direct Sunday, with Mercury in Rx flux – cue sleep of the dead replete with wacko dream scenarios ? Check ! 

Mine ? : Music festy cuss and discuss (surprise ! on live cam) morphs into surrounded by antiques, quilts and stitching – but not just any stitching – heirloom stitching, recorded for historical and $$ value, and of course, cue Mercurial man, shiny object, white clapboard stairs leading everywhere, construction workers and we have a sign of Neptuner turning this ship around ! 
My sweet old quilting bee ladies in New England got me covered, stitching up the pieces.  Hallelujah Amen sistah !   Let’s get on with it  !

Scorpio Saturn trine Chiron Rx in Pisces and it occurs to me all this purging of the old deadwood is fabulous, healthy and vital – but in truth – many events in our lives are forever a part of us and simply have to be morphed into a form we can live with.

Hold a death / change / metamorph ceremony for your memory.
Dig a hole in the earth, ground the energy, the awful memory – really deep six it if you have to.  Release the energetic connection it has with you / and you with it – with the burial …let it go…  Fill the hole with dirt, make an offering of tobacco, bless the earth and the seed with consecrated water.  Consider your memory the fertilizer that will nourish the new flower seed you plant.  New fresh life will grow and form new memories that feel better.

Jupiter rules ceremonies – faith, optimism and HOPE.

It helps – I’ve done this very thing – and it works.
Only one thing I keep from my horrible time and that is my tuning fork.

The Total Solar Eclipse is in Scorpio conjunct Rahu, the Dragon’s Head (North Node), making Pluto Lord of the Eclipse.  Solar eclipses generate outward expression of the planetary energies : consciously visible changes will occur with this eclipse conjunct Rahu with Pluto as Lord.

During this eclipse, the Moon will entirely shadow the sun (see visibility above).   Astrologically this indicates emotions (water) are high – imagination, adaptability, issues surrounding home and family are heightened; (solar traits) ambition, glory-seeking egocentric behavior are lessened.

North Node, or Rahu, is considered a point of elevation – it is an amplifier – an influx of new energy will pour into your Scorpio house setting you in motion towards your destined future.

This eclipse is a Super Moon, which means the moon is perigee or closest point of approach to the earth.  The weather is often more intense, tides will be higher and lower near the exact date in addition to an increase in wind activity.  Again, lunar traits will be more strongly felt – emotions, home, family, instincts come strongly into focus, and sensitivity is keen.

Many born in the late 60’s will have the eclipse on or conjunct natal Neptune near the 21′ degree : feeling this eclipse strongly on that sensitive planet is likely if Neptune factors largely in your natal chart.  In which case, Pluto (Lord of eclipse) encourages  metamorphosis of all things Neptune, a purging of outdated desires, power reversals and surrender coupled with the beneficial healing and higher love for self and others  that comes with releasing what is no longer serving your highest goals / good.

Check your house of Scorpio to see where you will be feeling the shift.  Keep in mind solar eclipses are active for one year for each hour of shadow – and each successive planet that passes over the eclipse point will then add a new planetary energy to the eclipse gumbo !

Pluto rules fixed water, emotional endings – but also new beginnings !

Chiron will square Mercury Rx at the 0 degree of Sagittarius: re-thinking of learning, philosophies, teaching, healing methods and higher forms of communication of all kinds.

Chiron trines Saturn exact in Scorpio, suggesting new, healthy, firm foundations are the future results of this eclipse.  

Mercury Rx and new Neptune exact square – both at the cosmic portal – the point of possibilities : zero degrees : zero is also ruled by Pluto.  Mercury and Neptune are vibrating divine intuition and profound transformation at the time of this powerful eclipse.  whoa. cool.

Mars is conjunct the Galactic Center at 27 degrees Sagittarius during the eclipse.  Conjunctions to the Galactic Center call the planetary energy into vibration with all that exists beyond : super conscious intuition works in tandem with an underlying cosmic understanding of all that is.  Now THAT is Universal Higher Mind Expansion, Sagittarius style !

Taurus rises in the eclipse chart with Libra Venus trine Jupiter Rx in Gemini.  Seems to me like a pop refresher course on the Occultation of Venus: Gemini and Sagittarius pointed to ongoing improvement in the future evolution of communications.
Fascinating.
At that time Venus was square Mars while Mercury was exact opposite the Galactic Center.  From the occultation, we advance to this eclipse : Loving thought coupled with actions rooted in tolerance and acceptance of all life : micro / macro.

Apologizes, stepped out for a bit on Sunday.   Was ill, and once I peeled myself off the floor I was in no mood for writing.  Natal pinball sent me TILT.   *see pic above The two heavies conjunct my natal Sun are square (Uran/Plu), the planet that touches nearly everything in my natal (Neptuner), is stationing direct while my MC planet (Merc) stations Retrograde – – wild, weird weekend – – I am glad it is behind me… back on track now.

As you can see from the above, lots going on, the eclipses I will finally address this evening in depth.

Within the hour, Moon enters Leo in square to Scorpio Saturn, trine to Mercury in Sagittarius.  Mercury is in flux, obviously, so while moon will get an influx of fire – choose words carefully, Mercury stations are prime times for communication snafus aka: brain out of gear while mouth is running.

Moon will enter Leo in trine to Uranus Rx in Aries [while Mercury also trines Uranus Rx] so messages emotionally relevant and very surprising will be popping up soon – You have mail !

Libra Venus closes the trine to Jupiter Rx in Gemini with a Leo moon in trine to Mercury, relevant messages that crack open unexpected future paths for you.  Saturn closes the trine to Chiron Rx in Pisces, healing is underway. . . just keep swimming !

Feeling the Cardinal Cross, at odds all morning…really forcing myself to come out of the shadows.  There are also water trine energies…so feeling meditative, contemplative with a chance of emotional undertow.  I’ve had my nose in a book, studying all morning.  Lots of info and patterns, circles coming back around…so much so I need more time to process.

Many of my generation (late 60’s) have their natal Scorpio Neptune being popped by the upcoming Total Solar Eclipse.  If you want an idea, here’s the approximate stats: 1965 Neptune 18′, 1966 Neptune 20′, 1967 Neptune 22′, 1968 Neptune 24′, 1969 Neptune 26′.

Pisces, and its ruler, Neptune are the psychic sponges of the zodiac.  If they are strong in your chart, you are going to be sensitive to vibrations / disturbances in the force, both positive and negative.

Those of you born with Neptune at 21+ degrees will have the solar eclipse energy applying (stronger) on your Neptune.  More about that in next post.

Moon-eyed feelings are in Cancer, ten days before an eclipse.  Water, home, mother and the public.  Intuition is sky high, feelings are tidal in this cross of action driven Cardinal signs.   Moon opposes Pluto the transformer, trines Sun and Saturn in Scorpio as rebuilding takes place on the Atlantic coast and islands hit by our mothers waves and fury.

It varies storm to storm, but on average, the diameter of hurricane-force winds is 100 miles, while the average diameter of tropical storm (gale) force winds is 300 to 400 miles.  Sandy was the largest hurricane (by gale diameter) ever observed in the Atlantic basin: 945 mi / 1,520km.

I did mention Saturn is in Scorpio – Saturn is slow, methodical and tests the patience.  Neither Saturn nor Pluto is fast acting; they are however extremely thorough in turning out the insides, shining a light, peering into the heart and soul of a situation and making it infinitely improved.

Being packed with Scorpio and Pluto energy (NNode is in Scorp too) is at this point a mixed blessing – a contradiction I am intimately familiar with – my 8th house Pluto is conjunct my Sun and trine my Moon.

Having and in fact, being an intense experience is all I have ever known.  I am generally given a wide berth. . .which ironically is a nautical term – compass to the fact I have a big Neptuner in 11.

Pluto means POWER and powerless.
Pluto forces surrender to the regenerative process.

Scorpio Saturn sextiles Pluto in Capricorn : mutual reception : slow, steady painful metamorphosis.

Straight – no chaser.
Emotional rebirth on the physical plane. 
Pluto and Saturn are tough and will force us to become tough as well.
This applies Micro (personally) and Macro (globally).

While Saturn is predictable: work, testing and perfecting – Pluto changes it up: life, tantric energy, death, rebirth and intensive research through experiencing all 3.

Yes, you have experienced death – you are eternally in a state of cellular, spiritual and emotional flux – this is Plutonic force at work within us.

Scorpio Saturn trines Chiron Rx in Pisces – this test will ultimately heal.  Chiron was the wounded centaur who studied the healing herbal arts, taught others and and in typical centaur fashion – he was optimistic, he had faith, and he was enthusiastic to learn.   Saturn in Scorpio = Time to dig in.

Martians have landed

Mars MARS MARS !

My progressed Mars is conjunct Moon in Capricorn, square Saturn in Aries this is my nine (culmination, working tail off) year and my timely North Node of Destiny is powering HULK SMASH in natal Aries 4. 

This recent Venus / Uranus opposition triggered my chart.  Transit Uranus Rx is applying trine to natal Mars, while transit Pluto applies to natal 3rd house Aries Saturn Rx (which trines natal Mars).  Transit Pluto is also applying to progressed Mars.

One factoid randomly pitched in conversation, my ex replied with something he most probably and completely stupidly thought was innocent – and I saw RED !

I’ll spare you the details, but know the cycles of life are teaching me how to operate my own Mars by pitching me Martians and their antics / teachings at every turn.  North Node activates around 40 + years, and my Mars is burning tread around every corner.

Crazy times !!
