goofy goaty goats

WheeeEeee !
Okay, how cute is this goat ?

Today’s tribute to the mystical seaGOATS
is for
national hangover day
and
Mercury Pluto Sun in Capricorn.

This Cap rising spent NYE dry as a bone.
Still have a headache though : Saturn Rx in the Head (Aries).
I get them all the time.
If you get migranes, check this herb, it may help.

Love to see the goaty goats do their thang.
Comes naturally, the climbing, the rising, the fancy footwork.

Check this one.
Weird.
Monkey does not look to be enjoying the ride much.

Such a disservice to say Capricorns are slow, stodgy, or cold.
My used to be mentor was overly fond of the phrase ‘cold, cold, Capricorn’.

Somehow I managed to keep my mouth shut.
Surprise !
Miracles DO happen. lol.

Saturn restricts my 3rd house comms for the most part.

Unless trine to Sag Mars gets fired up.
Fire triggers quintile to Uranus in Virgo 9 . . .

You get where I’m going with this.
Sagittarius : self-righteous indignation is us.
Ah well, nobody’s perfect.
Workin’ on it !

According to legend,
Kaldi was the Ethiopian goatherder who discovered the coffee plant.
Goats would chew the berries then go cRaZy JuMpiNg.

Kaldi ate them too, got a rush
– you guessed it –
soon everyone wanted jumping berries.

As you swill your brew on hangover morn,
thank a Capricorn.

Coffee was born via a
goofy goaty goat
somewhere in Ethiopia.

MoOovin’ on UP !

Felix Baumgartner is an Austrian skydiver and a BASE jumper. He is renowned for the particularly dangerous nature of the stunts he has performed during his career. Baumgartner’s current project is Red Bull Stratos, where he plans to jump to Earth from a helium balloon in the stratosphere.

Baumgartner has been working with a team of scientists to attempt the highest sky-dive on record. The project, which is scheduled see Baumgartner jump 120,000 ft – or 36,600 miles – from a helium balloon, before free falling then parachuting to Earth.
::::::::::::::

If successful, Baumgartner will break the sound barrier on his descent, becoming the first human to do so without vehicular power.

fyi: The speed of sound is the distance travelled during a unit of time by a sound wave propagating through an elastic medium. In dry air at 20 °C (68 °F), the speed of sound is 343.2 metres per second (1,126 ft/s). This is 1,236 kilometres per hour (768 mph), or about one kilometer in three seconds or approximately one mile in five seconds.  Holy %*$&^%# that’s fast !

A successful jump will also result in Baumgartner breaking three more world records—the highest manned balloon flight, the highest altitude jump, and the longest time in free fall. The free fall (until the parachute is pulled) is expected to last between five and six minutes, with total jump (until contact is made with the ground) expected to last approximately ten minutes.

The jump is currently postponed after the scheduled launch on October 9, 2012 was aborted due to “gusty winds”.
Delayed twice –
The next window for launch begins on 14 October.
::::::

Launch progress here.

Taurus Sun, Gemini Moon.
 Uranus Rx at 0 degrees Libra, a sensitive Cardinal degree- making Uranus even more hot to trot to upset the apple cart.

Saturn at 28 Aries (decan of Jupiter) is the apex or finger of god in a Yod.

Saturn is quincunx Virgo Jupiter and zero degree Uranus in Libra – in addition to Neptune Rx in late Scorpio.  The sextile is between Neptune :::: Uranus, and his Jupiter Pluto conjunction in late Virgo.  A quincunx requires adaptation and improvisation  – Saturn is taking all the heat of the outer planet heavy hitters !

Neptune rules sky, Saturn rules falling (diving).  As the apex of the Yod –  Saturn needs release – intense Neptune / Uranus, Jupiter release.
His drug of choice is a heady weird falling rush :: far – out ( his Mars is in Sagittarius in trine to Venus in Aries: fire to fire WoOo HoOo) power sports. ::  With Saturn in a house ruled by Mars on the decan of Jupiter- his history making jumps are action packed and they have got to BE BIG !

:::::
So I am thinking, a sonic boom happens when the sound barrier is broken won’t he nearly go deaf ?  So I had to look up sonic boom.  Sound waves travel behind the object.

It is a common misconception that only “one” boom is generated during the subsonic to supersonic transition, rather, the boom is continuous along the boom carpet for the entire supersonic flight.
As a former Concorde pilot puts it, “You don’t actually hear anything on board. All we see is the pressure wave moving down the aeroplane – it gives an indication on the instruments. And that’s what we see around Mach 1. But we don’t hear the sonic boom or anything like that. That’s rather like the wake of ship – it’s behind us.

This oughta be good – I am staying tuned to this one !

Note: When I create solar charts ( when an exact birth time is unavailable ) I use Noon.
 I split the difference equally – it tends to be more accurate for Moon placement.  Some astrologers use what is called a sunrise chart with Sun rising in the first house.

If Felix was born between midnight and 7:30am he would be a 29 degree Aries – if born after 7:30am (6:30am UT) he is a 0 degree Taurus.
In short : there is a 7 hour window in which he is 29 Aries; a 17 hour window in which Felix is 0 degree Taurus.
Uranus is at 0 degrees Libra regardless what time of day it is on 4/20/69.
O&O

the devil you know

Better the devil you know than the one you don’t.

Saturn has one hell of a nasty rep.  * see horns  ^
Who wouldn’t love  restriction, responsibilities, duty, and being an olde sour pessimistic, melancholy workaholic cuss ! ! . . ?! . . . anyone ?  haha yeeeah. exactly.

I was thinking the other day this ‘devil you know business’ may as well be my anthem, code, motto whatever.  Why ?  Well, being the child of 2 Capricorn Suns, and a Cap rising myself, I have had Saturn up my nostril since. . . well, ever.

YeeHAW Not.

I have Saturn retrograde in its fall in Aries 3rd.  For non – astro folks, that translates as self (1st house) restrictions on any and all actions (Mars rules Aries) and thinking (3rd house is thinking).  Is why I go on & On & ON  about mindful thoughts and morphing the business model in the brainpan to a more happy blissful state.

Ya know, Saturn is the new sunshine and rainbows and all that jazz.

Saturn IS actually helpful – it keeps us tethered to this planet, makes juice into concentrate, it’s the groovy trick that keeps us from flying out of the Round UP rides.

Ahem. but seriously, what got me started on this Saturn post ?
Kids in the Hall  !  !

 ::::: I AM CRUSHING YOUR HEAD ::::::

 Saturn. the Workhorse. is. on. my. Midheaven.

Dear Goddess of All Things Groovy,
Will there ever be frolick for me at the festy again ?!
Please say yes !

Yours truly, Gneissest Moon Evah

HA ! sorta.
Nah, just kidding, I will obviously live with Saturn, but you get my point.  Lots and lots of work, but Saturn requires it.  The rewards are great, a job well done, self- satisfaction, you know, that sittin’ on top of the world  thang.
:::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::

I find this is an excellent time to noodle around with facing some Saturnian fears as well . . . brave ones can tell me how I do in the comments . . .  I’ll go first !

FACES of FEAR  in Fuchsia for fun

Saturn in Aries or 1st house: head trauma, accidental violence, facial scars, dentists drill, migraines, fumbling the ball or worse yet – an interception

Saturn in Taurus or 2nd house: choking, poverty, deadlines, unreliability, theft of personal objects, frenetic jazz and or opera crescendos

Saturn in Gemini or 3rd house: asphyxiation, inability to communicate, being pigeonholed or illogical, stuck in a corner with boring people who never shut up

Saturn in Cancer or the 4th: loss of family, fear of childbirth, insensitivity, confrontation, empty nest, feeling alone and hungry without cheese

Saturn in Leo or the 5th: bad love affairs, heart trouble, lack of willpower, being ignored, cowardice, loss of good looks, breaking mirrors, back burner, bad hair days

Saturn in Virgo or 6th house:  illness, being dispensable, impracticability, faulty logic, causing harm, having nothing to clean, organize or fix, crooked pictures on the wall

Saturn in Libra or 7th house: injustice, imbalance, insincerity, inequality, making decisions, filth, relationship chains, excessive body hair, mis-matched clothes

Saturn in Scorpio or 8th house: loss of power or control, shallowness, being exposed, unfulfilled desires, lack of sex or obsessing about lack of sex, milk toast

Saturn in Sagittarius or 9th house:  inability to roam far and wide, ethical crossfire, detailed work that requires finesse, intellectual joke fail, last call

Saturn in Capricorn or 10th house: career fail, breaking bones, losing teeth, coming in second place, being irresponsible, incompetence, disloyalty, taking orders, vacations

Saturn in Aquarius or 11th house: intellectual stagnation, being unoriginal or uninteresting, not knowing purpose in universe, surrender to apathy, status quo

Saturn in Pisces or 12th house: confinement, being forced into beliefs, large crowds,  too busy to daydream, spiritual constriction, lack of REM, concentration, reality

::::::::::::::::::::
Some of the Saturnian things above are in jest, but all are shades of truth. Hope you find it insightful / delightful more than frightful.   Each is a general read – not taking into account your personal natal chart and aspects, which will reveal many layers beyond the above.

My Saturn is Aries 3, so I read both Aries / 3rd house to flesh out my Saturn bones.
Follow the same template for your own aspects.

Speaking of Saturn pressing down, time flies when I work 24/8.  It is late, and Labor day  was exactly that – it is TIME to pillow crash.

peace out peeps

Birds, Bells & Benders

Well that  didn’t take long.  Venus into Cancer was promptly christened with waterworks.  Yee gads, spinning Wille / Kris & Songwriter – my Dad’s copy on vinyl.  Wore out my cassette, found it in my Dad’s stuff after he died.  Nothing says I miss my Dad and brother like an Outlaws bender.  Cancer is family after all….

My apologies to any and all shellfish for calling Cancer touchie-feelie this week.

Here’s why I do…
Capricorn (ruled by Saturn) opposes Cancer – they naturally need to compromise….
My Aries Saturn, squares Cancer – they naturally need to shift power and re-focus.

I am Cap rising, Saturn is my ruler meaning I approach life seriously, slowly and with concentration and tremendous effort.  I like it no muss, no fuss – straight shooters.  Say what you mean & do what you say.  Cancer does everything through feelings, which from my standpoint can become the undertow far too quickly. My Aries Saturn Rx flips Cancer the bird from the third.  Pffft.  Seventh house, relationships squareSquareSQUARE.  ‘Pity ? Party of One your table is ready.’

gets. on. my. last. nerve.

It has to said, I have plenty of love, caring and nurturing instincts – it’s the moody, clingy emotionally overwrought wishy-washy energies that do me no good. After 15 minutes I become my own drill sgt.  suck it UP sweetheart !  Yeah you are still single – it could be worse – get. ovah. it !   Get UP and Get to WORK !

Light candles, incense, ring some bells – gain ALTITUDE – pronto !

Then I do what any good Virgo stellium would do – I dismantle the bomb.  Pick it apart and solve it.   Here’s how:

Find YOUR squaring houses and work your puzzle, your way.

Aries squares my Cap ASC and my Cancer DC.  Internally (eternally ?  sheesh.) at war with self (1st) and others (7th).  How the heck do I get out of it..?
Third house communicates – just by being here writing, I have solved one thing.  Second, my Aries Saturn Rx opposes my 9th (but trines Sag Mars) – by teaching I find compromise with others.  [ * waves * How ya’ll doin’ out there ? ]

Squares lead to the greatest growth in the natal chart because they are internal tension you can tap into everyday to find powerful metamorphosis.

Oppositions show up when other people do.  So hermits have oppositions with bears and moose, I guess, lol.  You shall not pass … or something.  haha  You get what I am saying.

For help solving oppositions, find the midpoint energies.

For instance in my chart Toro Moon opposes Scorpio Neptune.  The midpoint between the two (square) lands me in Aquarius, an empty house – yet Aquarius is humanitarian and ruled by Uranus – astrology.  My Uranus is conjunct 9th house Sun – a benefic – so count Sun as a powerful ally.  Answer is: I quit drinking, etc.. and funnelled all my Loonie Lunar Neptuner sensitivity into astrology & divination for the WIN !
WoOo HooOo !

Also note: Aquarius on the second can mean two jobs, self – employed or made, infrequent or unsteady income.

Or… in my case, working my ass off to make more moola (2nd house) by initiating work in the intuitive arts so I can keep my house.
(aka – Hello Aries NN in the 4th !)

questions welcome
peace out

Gravity

Transiting Pluto square to natal Saturn Rx in Aries (my chart ruler).
Transiting Saturn conjunct MC.

Hard Work.

Find Saturn in your chart to indicate where your experience in life will be tested and perfected.

Find where Saturn transits your natal for where you will be concentrating and persevering through hard work and commitment now.

Saturn brings rewards through hard work.
Saturn is the Lord of Karma.

sharpening the blade

I AM a Capricorn rising.
I call it being karmically hobbled from birth.  In my case, I truly was hobbled at birth (Saturn Rx) with hip dysplasia (Sagittarius rules hips).  I had to wear a contraption between my legs so I would to be able to walk as I grew older.  Luckily, (Sagittarius) I had a good doctor (12th house, healing) who fixed me, and set my bones properly (Saturn trine Mars).

My Saturn Rx (bones) is trine Mars in Sagittarius (can be a bit klutzy) from the 3rd (siblings) and I was trying to follow my older brother upstairs, when I crashed and broke my collar-bone.

I don’t remember either accident (Mars hidden in the 12th sign).
Even though I had a rocky start, I walk just fine now, thank you.

~~~~~~~~
Saturn rising means it will be a hard long climb up the mountain, with nothing coming easy and nothing free.  I not only have Saturn in its fall (Aries) but it is retrograde as well.
Having a chart ruler that is a backwards ass taskmaster, is not a lot of fun, I’ll tell ya straight UP.
Now that I am older my retrograde Saturn is beginning to work for me.   I am writing (Saturn in 3rd) about spiritual 12th house matters from a visionary, philosophical, Sagittarian viewpoint.  I like to explore theories and pitch wild ideas out there…
Saturn by transit is in my 9th (Sagittarian) house, so I am learning, writing, and doing charts.  My natal Libra Mercury is busy and trying very hard to find balance.   Saturn transit coming up to natal Mercury with Venus close behind means I am perfecting what I love, my craft.
Saturn-ruled Capricorn doesn’t lower the drawbridge for every caller.
Mars in Sagittarius Quintile Uranus doesn’t give a damn what you believe.
I KNOW what I have SEEN.
Saturn is the sharpening of the blade in my chart, it is the worm-hole of time.
Gravity control + transcendent thinking = crystal clear focus.
Mars in Sagittarius on the 12th is aiming towards evolution of the spiritual self.
It is stealth in the 12th.
It is Jedi.
