Perhaps you can recall the previous Saturn transit through Sagittarius ?
November of 1985 to March of 1988

Quick recap: Ozone hole discovered over Antarctica, Live Aid for famine relief, Voyager 2 flies by Uranus, Chernobyl nuclear disaster 133,000 evacuated, ‘Black Monday’ world stock market crash, US and USSR sign treaty banning short & medium range missiles.  More history can be found here.

Relevant themes in your life during that time may be revisited, now.  See it as circles coming back around – lessons that may not have been honed to your liking at that time are now getting another shot.  Work it !

Saturn is one of two social planets (Jupiter [rules Sagittarius] is the other) that link our inner subjective world (luminaries, Mercury, Venus, Mars) to the objective global consciousness and what (Uranus, Neptune, Pluto) lies beyond. Saturn gives form and structure to the aetheric realm, it is spirit made manifest on the material plane.

Saturn harbors the first law of manifestation – limitation through form.  Spirit is grounded by Saturn; is both Father Time and Grim Reaper (Saturn rules Earth School) and is the necessary, temporary proving ground of spirit. conservation, limitation, restriction – tests leading to strength of spirit.  Taking responsibility for personal flaws, faults and working diligently to change them into gifts will redeem the spirit from tough karmic lessons that Saturn delivers.

Saturn (earth) in Sagittarius (fire) may initially smother passion, inspiration and courage until it instead learns to focus them like a laser beam.  SEEING learns structure and efficiency.  Long range vision, distant travel of all kinds (including astral), exploring personal versus global truths, student/teaching, higher learning coupled with expansive philosophies are experienced in tandem with manifestation.

I will speak to the above, but only a tiny bit.  I could reveal much, much more than I actually will be.  Years ago, a friend handed me a tangible physical thing.  I felt its weight, its softness, I turned it over in my hands, saw the color and I could smell it as I did so.  I could see the time it took to make it, feel the spirit with which it was given.
One magnificent catch – it was 4 years before I actually crafted it.
Yes, you read me correctly.  That’s the sort of thing that’ll twist your noodle, believe you me…and it did, for quite some time.  I was very sick for years (stomach) making sense of it until I just accepted it as It Is What It Is.  Oddly enough it happened during a whammy Cancer stellium (rules stomach, feelings, safety) every personal planet was in my 7th house. (solar 11th, telling !)  If anyone else had shared this moment with me, I likely would not have taken it so well.  You know who you are.

I thought long and hard about revealing this, knowing it is now, forever out there.  I am of course aware Saturn is square Neptune as well.  Reality versus Illusion.  Saturn in Sagittarius delivers the possibility of harsh judgement.  Life is not worth much without honesty and few risks, Sagittarius style.  You don’t have to understand, I don’t fully myself.  I have learned to live with it, and work with it to the best of my ability.  My story illustrates how my truth might not be your truth, but both truths are not necessarily negated if they do not coincide.  Truth is often stranger than fiction.  That’s a fact.

Saturn in Sagittarius defines and delineates the shot, the target is seen, achievement is obtainable, no matter how far, how high.  Patience and persistence that is not usually the forte of fun-loving Sagittarius is pervasive.  Saturn pilots freewheeling Sagittarius into a practical pro of all trades.  Saturn accepts nothing less than excellence of the highest quality, while in Sagittarius – unequivocal comprehension is cultivated.

Saturn in Sagittarius will find us trying a bit of everything (see 9th house) until finding something that WORKSThe nature of Jupiter also offers your work a measure of protection and grace.  Saturn in Sagittarius is the vision quest, the totem messenger, the wise monk on the mountain in communication with the mystical realms.  Note that Saturn in Sagittarius will be messages finding ground on the material plane.

Gneiss Moon

the devil you know

Better the devil you know than the one you don’t.

Saturn has one hell of a nasty rep.  * see horns  ^
Who wouldn’t love  restriction, responsibilities, duty, and being an olde sour pessimistic, melancholy workaholic cuss ! ! . . ?! . . . anyone ?  haha yeeeah. exactly.

I was thinking the other day this ‘devil you know business’ may as well be my anthem, code, motto whatever.  Why ?  Well, being the child of 2 Capricorn Suns, and a Cap rising myself, I have had Saturn up my nostril since. . . well, ever.

YeeHAW Not.

I have Saturn retrograde in its fall in Aries 3rd.  For non – astro folks, that translates as self (1st house) restrictions on any and all actions (Mars rules Aries) and thinking (3rd house is thinking).  Is why I go on & On & ON  about mindful thoughts and morphing the business model in the brainpan to a more happy blissful state.

Ya know, Saturn is the new sunshine and rainbows and all that jazz.

Saturn IS actually helpful – it keeps us tethered to this planet, makes juice into concentrate, it’s the groovy trick that keeps us from flying out of the Round UP rides.

Ahem. but seriously, what got me started on this Saturn post ?
Kids in the Hall  !  !

Saturn. the Workhorse. is. on. my. Midheaven.

Dear Goddess of All Things Groovy,
Will there ever be frolick for me at the festy again ?!
Please say yes !

Yours truly, Gneissest Moon Evah

HA ! sorta.
Nah, just kidding, I will obviously live with Saturn, but you get my point.  Lots and lots of work, but Saturn requires it.  The rewards are great, a job well done, self- satisfaction, you know, that sittin’ on top of the world  thang.

I find this is an excellent time to noodle around with facing some Saturnian fears as well . . . brave ones can tell me how I do in the comments . . .  I’ll go first !

FACES of FEAR  in Fuchsia for fun

Saturn in Aries or 1st house: head trauma, accidental violence, facial scars, dentists drill, migraines, fumbling the ball or worse yet – an interception

Saturn in Taurus or 2nd house: choking, poverty, deadlines, unreliability, theft of personal objects, frenetic jazz and or opera crescendos

Saturn in Gemini or 3rd house: asphyxiation, inability to communicate, being pigeonholed or illogical, stuck in a corner with boring people who never shut up

Saturn in Cancer or the 4th: loss of family, fear of childbirth, insensitivity, confrontation, empty nest, feeling alone and hungry without cheese

Saturn in Leo or the 5th: bad love affairs, heart trouble, lack of willpower, being ignored, cowardice, loss of good looks, breaking mirrors, back burner, bad hair days

Saturn in Virgo or 6th house:  illness, being dispensable, impracticability, faulty logic, causing harm, having nothing to clean, organize or fix, crooked pictures on the wall

Saturn in Libra or 7th house: injustice, imbalance, insincerity, inequality, making decisions, filth, relationship chains, excessive body hair, mis-matched clothes

Saturn in Scorpio or 8th house: loss of power or control, shallowness, being exposed, unfulfilled desires, lack of sex or obsessing about lack of sex, milk toast

Saturn in Sagittarius or 9th house:  inability to roam far and wide, ethical crossfire, detailed work that requires finesse, intellectual joke fail, last call

Saturn in Capricorn or 10th house: career fail, breaking bones, losing teeth, coming in second place, being irresponsible, incompetence, disloyalty, taking orders, vacations

Saturn in Aquarius or 11th house: intellectual stagnation, being unoriginal or uninteresting, not knowing purpose in universe, surrender to apathy, status quo

Saturn in Pisces or 12th house: confinement, being forced into beliefs, large crowds,  too busy to daydream, spiritual constriction, lack of REM, concentration, reality

Some of the Saturnian things above are in jest, but all are shades of truth. Hope you find it insightful / delightful more than frightful.   Each is a general read – not taking into account your personal natal chart and aspects, which will reveal many layers beyond the above.

My Saturn is Aries 3, so I read both Aries / 3rd house to flesh out my Saturn bones.
Follow the same template for your own aspects.

Speaking of Saturn pressing down, time flies when I work 24/8.  It is late, and Labor day  was exactly that – it is TIME to pillow crash.

peace out peeps

Full Moon at 17 degrees Libra approaches…..Friday at 2:19 pm CST, USA

Viggo is Libra Sun.  Aquarius Moon.

Full Moon in Libra will be trine Viggo’s Chiron.

He is a beautiful diplomat (Libra stellium) who knows the actions (Aqua Moon trine Mars Rx in Gemini) must be thought out, researched, explored – for there are two sides to everything.  Possiblities are endless.  Life, time is in a constant state of flux, always.

Yet Saturn is exalted in Libra…he knows some things are timeless.  Love and kindness, for example. (Viggo has Libra Sun, Venus, North Node and Chiron all sextile Saturn)

The right word, gesture or tiny seed of an idea planted at the precise right time can change everything for the better. (Mercury conjunct Jupiter, both sextile Pluto in Virgo)

Saturn Rx currently rests on his Libra Sun, is approaching his North Node at 22 degrees Libra. Saturn will go direct on his North Node (conjuncts his Venus) on Monday the 25th of June.  A project, an agreement, a labor of love years in the making will flower or reach culmination at that time.  It will likely involve travel and a respected mentor.

Viggo has Saturn in Sagittarius.  The serious thinker and traveller, he works (photography, poems) while he plays, he documents and records what he sees.
If you are very lucky, he will tell you what he is thinking.

Viggo’s Libra Venus is conjunct my Mercury.
