Making Waves

We have a lovely Pisces (Neptune rules) Moon (feelings, public) conjunct chiron (healer) and Neptune (oceans).
Moon and Neptune both trine (harmony) Mercury (messenger of the gods) and Venus (love).
Neptune (oceans) trine Saturn (conservation).

I was cruising Radiohead info and found this great site Project Oceans.

I love it that Radiohead is so incredibly environmentally active – refusing to jet across the globe to play in a television studio – they dial it in – pointedly explaining why to do otherwise is ludicrous.
oh yeah baby I dig you.  My Saturn has a crush on your Saturn.

Obviously, I’m not done talking about how great Thom Yorke (click here for more Thom) is, so pull up a seat Radioheads..!
Thom has Mercury, Venus and Neptune in Scorpio.  Intense and powerfully perceptive, he is able to read the collective pulse (Mercury, Neptune, Venus in Scorp) of unconscious human need (Mercury opp Moon) and forge (Pluto rules Scorp) new tools for building a more environmentally (Saturn conjunct Moon) sound future for us all.

That Virgo stellium is a powerhouse !
Virgos appreciate life in all its forms.  They see the web of life, the sacred patterns present from the micro to the macro scale.  They are earthy healers here to serve and protect.

Thom has Virgo Mars (desires, action), Jupiter (hope, philosophy) conjunct Pluto (the big game-changer, regeneration) and Uranus (the wild and free).  He is progressive and pioneering, a leader in the environmental movement from a musicians standpoint.  The band has taken solid steps to cut the amount of carbon emissions they produce during touring, as well as backing ecowatch groups and artists programs raising awareness on global warming.

Thom has Libra Sun (balance) opposite Aries Moon which is conjunct Saturn (Earth).  Moon and Saturn have a Mars flavor which brings a militant attitude toward finding balance with the public (Moon) and Earth (Saturn).

Libra Sun opposite Aries Moon conjunct Saturn – all are in Cardinal signs – they are initiating plans of action and making waves.

Thom is a number 5 life path, and has a 5 Sun.
5= Change, flux and adjustment
His Moon is 7 = Divine order, the mystical, a turning point.
Sevens are the triumph of spirit over matter.

Spirit (Sun) in the sign of balance (Libra) using art and music (Venus rules) to shine a reflection toward the masses (Moon) of what humankind is unconsciously doing to our (Mother, Moon) planet (Saturn, Earth).

I’m glad you were born to spin around on the planet with us, thank you.

all hands on decks

Love alert code red
Venus trine Neptune  !
Relationship House (Libra) is flush with planets !

Hands UP, who has a tarot card callus ?!  lol.

It is a good time to get some focus re: feelings/perceptions : Moon is Quintile Mercury (better hurry, these 2 move fast)
Love matters coming to a head, changing ?
The time is ripe: Venus is Quintile both Mars and Pluto, but be careful (Mars square Jupiter) and cautious of what you do.
Is the relationship built to last ? Mars in (generous Leo), is Quintile Saturn (fair, kind and exalted in Libra).
Inspiration strikes, insights are forthcoming – keep the faith: Jupiter Quintile Neptune in Aquarius.
Inspiration and idealism meets with moulding reality into form: Saturn trine Neptune.

Lights on, not home

Do you have empty houses in your natal chart ?  Don’t panic, it doesn’t mean you are shut out of that house… it simply means the bulk of the lessons you are here to learn are not located in the area of life that house represents.  For instance, my 7th house (marriage, partnerships) is empty and I’ve been married.  So if your 7th house is empty too, don’t panic and envision spinsterhood just yet.

Aquarius lands on the empty 2nd house in my chart – but I have an active Uranus, which is the ruler of Aquarius.  My most highly aspected planet, Neptune is in the 11th house, natural house of Aquarius, and it sextiles Uranus.

My Uranus is oriental (rising before) the sun with exactly 5 degrees of separation ( I mention this because the number 5= change and challenge, Uranus is the planet of unexpected changes).  With Uranus rising oriental (guiding my) Sun (and conjunct Pluto) I have an innate quality of change, an ability and  to morph, mutate and transform my ego (Sun).  This whammy conjunction is also near Mid-heaven, or on display. (waves !)

Keep in mind any planet conjunct a luminary is super charged in your chart because it is mainlining your conscious (sun) or unconscious (moon) self.

My Sun, Uranus, Pluto conjunction is also trine my Moon – so again my Uranus is active even if the 2nd house of Aquarius is empty.  I knew (Aquarian motto: I know) the minute I woke up – and the thought popped into my head (intuition, higher octave of Mercurial thinking) lights on (Uranus rules electricity) no one home (empty Aquarius).

Find the ruler of the empty house in your chart to identify how the house and its energies are activated in your life.

Hypersensitive Adaptation

“My belief is in the blood and flesh as being wiser than the intellect. The body-unconscious is where life bubbles up in us. It is how we know that we are alive, alive to the depths of our souls and in touch somewhere with the vivid reaches of the cosmos.”  – D. H. Lawrence

Spoken like a Virgo with Scorpio rising, Pluto (chart ruler) conjunct Neptune.  D.H. Lawrence has Virgo Sun conjunct Jupiter, Uranus, North Node in the 11th house (natural house of Aquarius).  He was visionary; a very creative thinker, writer.

I find it so interesting that by following my heart, I have perfectly played my astrological hand, walked my astrological map- including the pitfalls, without consciously doing so.  What I love about learning astrology is it has explained so much about my habits and tendencies.  Astrology has given me the tools to be pro-active in charting my own course to physical and spiritual healing.  I am hoping through reading this site, I can help you do the same.

My friend Rhonda introduced me to Craniosacral Biodynamics, and having Moon opposite Neptune in the 11th, and Sun conjunct Uranus, I find this fascinating.
Body fluids are ruled by Aquarius and Uranus
movement of the body fluid is ruled by Moon and Neptune.

The intention of craniosacral work is to encourage the cellular breath to move freely, without restriction, thereby allowing the life-giving oxygen, ions, and vital fluid to flow thoughout the body.

The cellular breath, or The Breath of Life produces a series of subtle rhythms (rhythms are Moon and Neptune ruled) that may be palpated in the body and which make up an integrated physiological system. At least three subtle rhythms have been identified in this “primary respiratory system”, each having a different rate and producing rhythms within rhythms.

These three “tides” are referred to asthe cranial rhythmic impulse; a more superficial rhythm expressed at an average rate of 8-12 cycles per minute, the mid-tide; a tidal rhythm that carries ordering forces into the body expressed at a slower rate of approximately 2.5 cycles per minute and the long tide; a deep and slow rhythmic impulse expressed about once every 100 seconds. The long tide is considered to be the first stirring of life and motion as the Breath of Life emerges from a deeper ground of stillness at the center of our being.

This same ‘breath of life’ takes place on a larger scale in the oceans of the Earth via thermohaline circulation.  It is like a giant ocean deep water conveyor belt transporting enormous volumes of cold, salty water from the North Atlantic to the Northern Pacific, and bringing warmer, fresher water in return.

Salt water oceans make up 71% of the Earth’s surface, the human body is more than 60 percent water. Blood is 92 percent water, the brain and muscles are 75 percent water, and bones are about 22 percent water.

Scientific studies cannot prove the rhythms of the Moon influence water in the human body, or that the Moon has an influence on humans at all, for that matter; but they cannot prove astrology either, and I know it works.  I know astrology works because I have seen it working in the charts of myself, my family, and those people I admire.

 ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Look for any aspects to Mercury, Gemini, or Jupiter to indicate the quality of your breathing.  Look to aspects to Uranus, Aquarius, Moon and Neptune to indicate the rhythmic movement of blood, or water in your body.
I have Neptune both opposite Moon, and square Leo meaning in my chart I may have to watch for heart trouble, as Leo rules the heart, and Neptune bodily fluids.  I have also learned to be attuned to emotional balance as my Moon is in the 4th house (natural house of Cancer- rules the stomach) and can cause vague (Neptune rules the hidden) stress induced illness.  I have Saturn (restriction) in the 3rd house (natural house of Gemini).
Mercury, Gemini and Jupiter rule breathing in the astrological chart.
I spent many years smoking on and off, and haven’t smoked now in several years.  My Saturn placement is a red flag for lung issues, so good thing I quit.  (not that I recommend smoking for any placement, I don’t)
The first step to health is prevention.
Like the Bene Gesserit from Dune, I know humans can bend the life force towards health and well-being through concentration and will.
In the Bene Gesserit tradition, Sisters received many years of training in prana/bindu body control. They were capable of entering a trace-state, altering metabolism and slowing heart rates to neutralise toxic chemicals in the body on a molecular level.  Bene Gesserit are trained in “the minutiae of observation”, noticing details that the common person would miss in the people and environment around them. When combined with their analytical abilities, this “hyperawareness” makes the Bene Gesserit capable of divining secrets and arriving at conclusions that are invisible to everyone else.
It’s no surprise I love Dune and reading of the Bene Gesserit, as I have a Virgo stellium and giant Neptuner, both leading me to be conscious of physical and spiritual health.
The first step to balance is awareness.
May the road to health rise up to meet you…
quiet moon
It’s a dark void moon in the sign of Cancer.
The moon rules Cancer which is a yin, or passive water sign.  People with strong Cancer in their chart tend to be quiet, moody, love home, family, cooking and gardening.  These energies or moods may be swaying your emotions on the moons 2 day stay in this sign.
The dark moon is a quiet time of incubation and preparation for the future.  (Visualize garden seeds underground sprouting.)  It’s also a good time for some house-witchery cleaning of the corners; setting goals and using energies for manifesting the most positive future that will be growing with the moon as it reaches its full moon potential.
Presently it is also a void of course moon (a moon making no significant aspects before leaving the sign it’s in) which is a period of wait-and-see, do nothing of importance while the moon, emotions, or any other moon ruled issues are adrift (void) and hidden (dark).  Traditionally astrologers believe actions taken during void moons will not come to fruition as planned, or not at all.  I suggest caution, see how the void moon works for you in your life.
(The New Moon breathes in some fire in Leo at 1:16 pm CST USA on the 30th)
So let’s all order pizza and watch movies in the dark, I’ll light the candles and the musky incense …
The Lunarium Universal Calendar in the astrology links can be adjusted to your time zone world-wide.  Great for lunar info, including void of course moons.
Planetary Pool
I am mega earth with Capricorn rising, Sun Virgo and Toro Moon.  So here’s a Toro tour of some of my earth stuff while I talk astro. (Translation: Toros like stuff, are earthy, and my Toro moon is on the 4th house of home.)
Earthy people= practical, skillful, grounded, sensate
Fire people= energetic, courageous, inspiring, adventurous
Air people= intellectual, social, thoughtful wordy ones
Water people= emotional, romantic, intuitives, secretive
Sounds simple doesn’t it…?…but what is so great about natal charts is they are as richly textured and layered as the most finely crafted spiderweb.  For instance, my ruling planet, Saturn (earth) is in fire (Aries) on air (3rd house of Gemini (air).  Fire likes fire and air.  Fire does not like earth and water.
Translation: Saturn (limits) wants to stay, Aries (risks) wants to go, and Gemini (air) is here talking about it.  It has taken 40 + years to talk about it because my Saturn is Rx (retrograde) which means it works inwardly until ready to manifest outwardly.
~~~
Cardinal= activity, where the action is, self-starters & go-getters
Fixed= stable, building from ideas of cardinals, desires and emotions
Mutable= adaptable, changing, people people, the glue between the two

Going deeper still, my chart ruler, Saturn, rules a cardinal sign (Capricorn), is in a cardinal sign (Aries) on a mutable house (Gemini).  Translation: The tenants (planets placed in the sign visiting natural house) like to get their way, but the landlord (the natural house) is more easy-going.
Who wins..?
Ask me any given day and you’ll get a different answer because transits (what the planets are doing overhead now) will be knocking vibrations off my natal chart positions like Minnesota Fats shooting 10 balls into the side pockets.  Some days the energies drop hard, other days just a gentle little tap.
The same is true of your chart.

Hum a few bars

Ahhh…The Look.  You know the one…the look you get when you speak something Not of Status Quo, the look generally followed by a chuckle + eye roll.  Perhaps the odd bit pops out of your mouth in polite conversation about : astrology, aliens, crystals, crop circles or in my case today~ the Taos Hum.  The curious Uranian blurt followed by knowing glances around the room.  Yes.  I am, once again, safe in the knowledge that I have raised the freak flag in the academic crowd; aka the weirdo in the room just stood up.
I have heard the Taos Hum and here is my story…
I was planning on driving the enchanted circle after leaving Taos heading home toward Eagle Nest Lake along the river on my way to 64 East to Cimmaron.  I had driven this route before and fell in love…it is a winding road that follows the river on the south side with bluffs on the north; trees and forest lush on both sides.  There is a little Buddhist monastery tucked up in the bluffs too, and as you can see by the map, that’s not all.

I was stopped at the crossroads fiddling with my ipod -[must have road-worthy tunes for one of the best drives in the country]- when, it occurred to me my truck seemed really loud, even for my old Dodge.  So I put it in park and got out to look at the rear chassis.  Nothing out of the ordinary.  hmm…?…  So I climb back in and I hear it again…a very low register, but very loud, wave-like humming sound.  Ok, my truck had a lotta miles this trip: Colorado mountain top festival in the 14ers, Arches, Grand Canyon,  Monument Valley, Barringer Crater, Zuni Pueblo, Santa Fe, Taos…and that was only this vacation.  I have driven my truck coast to coast and I know how it sounds.  So this time I turned my truck off…and could still hear it.
Then I sit and wait for the dump truck hauling rock that I am sure will be appearing from around the bend anytime now.   ….nope.  All Alone.   Me, my silent parked truck, and The Hum.

I finally gave up, after several trips around the vehicle, knowing my truck sounded fine when I climbed out of it to hear it, and I had places to go.  ( Like the worst bathroom in the US- Cimmaron- fair warning- skip it !)
In case you are ever near Taos and want to try a ‘hearing the humming’ experiment…I was parked at the crossroads near the star marked Taos.
~~~~~~~~~~~~
Ok, so now a bit about The Hum~ the sound registers louder to the people who hear it while they are inside a structure than if they are outside a structure; standing in the yard, it can’t be heard.   The noise has driven nearby residents to petition Congress.  In 1993 residents asked the government to help locate the source of the disturbance, to no avail.  Some who are routinely subjected to the sound feel symptoms such as: dizziness, insomnia, disorientation, pressure on the ears, and headaches.  Among several theories of what causes the hum :  Infrasound, audible electro-magnetic earth frequencies, or the echo of undetected seismic activity.
Strangely, only 2% of Taos residents are able to hear the hum.  *When recorded by a Denver audiologist, the hum was a steady vibration of 17 cycles per second with a harmonic rising to 70 cycles per second near Taos. The low range of human hearing is 20 to 30 cycles per second. (Aquiziam.com)*  Similar humming sounds have been reported in the UK and New Zealand.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Astrologically, I am thinking my Sun conjunct Uranus and biggie Neptune in 11th aspecting Toro Moon feels the vibrations ~ Saturn trine Mars on the 12th sign is getting the hidden dial tuned into the Earth.  ? shrug ?
What do you think..?
