Miraculous

I have long been interested in the martyred saints even though I am not catholic.  Pictured on the postcard below is Saint Jude, one of the 12 apostles of Christ.  He was martyred along with Saint Simon for bringing the gospel to Persia.

Saint Jude’s attribute is a club. He is also often shown in icons with a flame around his head. This represents his presence at Pentecost, when he received the Holy Spirit with the other apostles. Another common attribute is Jude holding an image of Jesus Christ, in the image of Edessa. In some instances he may be shown with a scroll or a book (the Epistle of Jude) or holding a carpenter’s rule.

Jude is invoked in desperate situations because his New Testament letter stresses that the faithful should persevere in the environment of harsh, difficult circumstances, just as their forefathers had done before them. Therefore, he is the patron saint of desperate cases and his feast day is October 28.
::::::::::::::::::::::
You ever seen a catholic calendar ? – filled  with feast days.  That’s a lot of martyred saints.  eep.  That’s kinda creepy.
I have a book of patron saints, This Saints for You, guaranteed to fascinate, promise!  Saints can help you sell your house, have a successful garage sale, or if you work with explosives, call on Saint Barbara.  No kidding.

You ever read messages of thanks to St. Jude in your local free reader or mixed in with the want ads ?
These people are giving thanks to St. Jude because their prayers have been answered.

I found the postcard above while perusing a second hand shop with my college roomie.  I was sick at the time, had been for quite awhile, and being a Beatles fan, and  a big Julian Lennon fan, (Paul wrote the song for him.) I popped a few bucks and took it home.

Hey, what can it hurt to have a little help from your friends, right ?
Well…I started carrying it around and I got better.

Thank you Saint Jude, my prayers were answered.

Martyrs are ruled by Saturn, and saints, Neptune.  Neptune is my most highly aspected planet with squares straight to Leo (ruled by Sun, the solar life force) in the 8th.  The 8th house is death, rebirth, the phoenix rising from the ashes stronger.
Makes sense with the saints, now doesn’t it.  Rising from the ashes, even stronger after death.  Millions pray to them to intercede on their behalf.

Saint Jude is Aquarian, or rather miracles are Uranian and Neptunian, and he fits the bill.  My biggie Neptune is in Scorpio (the occult) on the 11th house (natural house of Aquarius), so a fascination with martyrs (my Neptune square the 8th and death), saints and miracles.

I am Saturn (martyrs) ruled, and have Venus (love, art) conjunct Jupiter (faith) in the 8th (death) square Neptune (miracles).  I am also a big fan of incense, (Mars rules- which in my chart is on the healing 12th), and bells (Venus rules) to clear and bless the energy in the room.

I have Mars (desires, action) in Sagittarius (faith) which is on my 12th house of mysticism.   So, very spiritual, but not conforming to any religious groups. (My Sun /spirit conjunct Uranus of the free and untamed in the 9th house of faith.)

This is what fascinates me about astrology, it explains soOo much when you learn it.  My friend and client was amazed by her current transits info.
“You can see all that?”     ~Yes.   Cool, yeah ?!
Miraculous ~ the universe ~ macro to micro.
Divine. / Divination.
Neptune rules !

(I would be remiss if I did not add that I was bemoaning the very Neptunian chart I have been blessed/cursed with just yesterday (or the day before, I can’t remember !- ha ! Neptune rules fog; Mercury memory) but today I am looking at it differently, not suffering quite so much – feeling more inspired.)

Thanks to my new friend clareflourish who inspired this post by providing this incredible link to Medieval icons. <- sorry, broken link try this one.

I thank you !
Merry Meet & Blessed Be.

wheels within wheels

It is not competitive ability but ability to maximize cooperation with other species that most directly contributes to an organisms being able to function and endure as a member of a biome.  -Terence McKenna

Efé children of the Ituri Forest in Zaire (Rep. of Congo, central Africa) begin the Osani game by sitting in a circle, feet touching, all connected. Each child in turn names a round object like the sun (oi), the moon (tiba), a star (bibi) an eye (ue) and then goes on to name a figurative expression of “round” like the circle of the family, togetherness, a baby in the womb, or the cycle of the moon. As players fail to come up with a term that is “circular” they are eliminated from the game. Eventually, only one remains. Tradition has it that this player will live a long and prosperous life.

Recently, the Mystic Medusa tribe had a great discussion about Aquarians often being chucked into ‘humanitarian groups’ when Aquarians are feral creatures, not herd mentality.
My comment revolved around the default Aquarian vibe being set to ‘universal’, more an intuitive connection with the infinite.
The union of personal mind and universal consciousness more than any specific group affiliation.
It’s more like an instinctual knowing and appreciation for life in all its forms…the cosmos within/without…  humanitarian description is thinking too small
~~~~~~~~~~~
That last line I wrote got me thinking…maybe I’m not thinking small enough
Here’s what I’m getting at…adult human bodies have about 100 trillion cells, all made of two hundred or so different kinds of cells.  Inner cosmos, anyone !?
Cell walls are permeable, meaning there is a ‘gate-keeper’ (Saturn rules gates/restrictions, is the traditional ruler of Aquarius) choosing which ions (electrically charged, Uranus-ruled) and organic molecules to let in or out – or not.
This balanced (Venus rules Libra and Libra rules balance) give-and-take environment in the cell is vital to keep us healthy and alive.
Ok, here’s the really cool bit…
I recently read at SynerChi about cell mem-brains, meaning cells have their own intelligence.
Keep in mind Uranus is the higher octave of Mercurial thinking and rules ‘knowing’ and intuition.
Aquarius rules communities, and Venus rules teamwork (and it’s worthy of mention~ love).
Here’s a bit from the SynerChi site, including the nifty micro-macro bit at the end…!
Cells show characteristics of intelligent behavior that allow them to come together cooperatively and form ever greater and more organized structures.
Cells form communities, then tissues, then organs, then systems.
At each level of organization individual cells display awareness of their environment, and react to that environment in a way that demonstrates deliberate and direct responsiveness.
Each one of our trillions of cells have a cell ‘Mem – Brain’, that receives and responds to emotional and chemical cues, and just as single cells are controlled by their awareness of the environment in which they live, so too are human beings on the larger scale.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
So love is keeping us together via teamwork micro & macro.
Cool, huh?!

Magical Mem-Brains

Lights on, not home

Do you have empty houses in your natal chart ?  Don’t panic, it doesn’t mean you are shut out of that house… it simply means the bulk of the lessons you are here to learn are not located in the area of life that house represents.  For instance, my 7th house (marriage, partnerships) is empty and I’ve been married.  So if your 7th house is empty too, don’t panic and envision spinsterhood just yet.

Aquarius lands on the empty 2nd house in my chart – but I have an active Uranus, which is the ruler of Aquarius.  My most highly aspected planet, Neptune is in the 11th house, natural house of Aquarius, and it sextiles Uranus.

My Uranus is oriental (rising before) the sun with exactly 5 degrees of separation ( I mention this because the number 5= change and challenge, Uranus is the planet of unexpected changes).  With Uranus rising oriental (guiding my) Sun (and conjunct Pluto) I have an innate quality of change, an ability and  to morph, mutate and transform my ego (Sun).  This whammy conjunction is also near Mid-heaven, or on display. (waves !)

Keep in mind any planet conjunct a luminary is super charged in your chart because it is mainlining your conscious (sun) or unconscious (moon) self.

My Sun, Uranus, Pluto conjunction is also trine my Moon – so again my Uranus is active even if the 2nd house of Aquarius is empty.  I knew (Aquarian motto: I know) the minute I woke up – and the thought popped into my head (intuition, higher octave of Mercurial thinking) lights on (Uranus rules electricity) no one home (empty Aquarius).

Find the ruler of the empty house in your chart to identify how the house and its energies are activated in your life.

Hypersensitive Adaptation

“My belief is in the blood and flesh as being wiser than the intellect. The body-unconscious is where life bubbles up in us. It is how we know that we are alive, alive to the depths of our souls and in touch somewhere with the vivid reaches of the cosmos.”  – D. H. Lawrence

Spoken like a Virgo with Scorpio rising, Pluto (chart ruler) conjunct Neptune.  D.H. Lawrence has Virgo Sun conjunct Jupiter, Uranus, North Node in the 11th house (natural house of Aquarius).  He was visionary; a very creative thinker, writer.

I find it so interesting that by following my heart, I have perfectly played my astrological hand, walked my astrological map- including the pitfalls, without consciously doing so.  What I love about learning astrology is it has explained so much about my habits and tendencies.  Astrology has given me the tools to be pro-active in charting my own course to physical and spiritual healing.  I am hoping through reading this site, I can help you do the same.

My friend Rhonda introduced me to Craniosacral Biodynamics, and having Moon opposite Neptune in the 11th, and Sun conjunct Uranus, I find this fascinating.
Body fluids are ruled by Aquarius and Uranus
movement of the body fluid is ruled by Moon and Neptune.

The intention of craniosacral work is to encourage the cellular breath to move freely, without restriction, thereby allowing the life-giving oxygen, ions, and vital fluid to flow thoughout the body.

The cellular breath, or The Breath of Life produces a series of subtle rhythms (rhythms are Moon and Neptune ruled) that may be palpated in the body and which make up an integrated physiological system. At least three subtle rhythms have been identified in this “primary respiratory system”, each having a different rate and producing rhythms within rhythms.

These three “tides” are referred to asthe cranial rhythmic impulse; a more superficial rhythm expressed at an average rate of 8-12 cycles per minute, the mid-tide; a tidal rhythm that carries ordering forces into the body expressed at a slower rate of approximately 2.5 cycles per minute and the long tide; a deep and slow rhythmic impulse expressed about once every 100 seconds. The long tide is considered to be the first stirring of life and motion as the Breath of Life emerges from a deeper ground of stillness at the center of our being.

This same ‘breath of life’ takes place on a larger scale in the oceans of the Earth via thermohaline circulation.  It is like a giant ocean deep water conveyor belt transporting enormous volumes of cold, salty water from the North Atlantic to the Northern Pacific, and bringing warmer, fresher water in return.

Salt water oceans make up 71% of the Earth’s surface, the human body is more than 60 percent water. Blood is 92 percent water, the brain and muscles are 75 percent water, and bones are about 22 percent water.

Scientific studies cannot prove the rhythms of the Moon influence water in the human body, or that the Moon has an influence on humans at all, for that matter; but they cannot prove astrology either, and I know it works.  I know astrology works because I have seen it working in the charts of myself, my family, and those people I admire.

 ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Look for any aspects to Mercury, Gemini, or Jupiter to indicate the quality of your breathing.  Look to aspects to Uranus, Aquarius, Moon and Neptune to indicate the rhythmic movement of blood, or water in your body.
I have Neptune both opposite Moon, and square Leo meaning in my chart I may have to watch for heart trouble, as Leo rules the heart, and Neptune bodily fluids.  I have also learned to be attuned to emotional balance as my Moon is in the 4th house (natural house of Cancer- rules the stomach) and can cause vague (Neptune rules the hidden) stress induced illness.  I have Saturn (restriction) in the 3rd house (natural house of Gemini).
Mercury, Gemini and Jupiter rule breathing in the astrological chart.
I spent many years smoking on and off, and haven’t smoked now in several years.  My Saturn placement is a red flag for lung issues, so good thing I quit.  (not that I recommend smoking for any placement, I don’t)
The first step to health is prevention.
Like the Bene Gesserit from Dune, I know humans can bend the life force towards health and well-being through concentration and will.
In the Bene Gesserit tradition, Sisters received many years of training in prana/bindu body control. They were capable of entering a trace-state, altering metabolism and slowing heart rates to neutralise toxic chemicals in the body on a molecular level.  Bene Gesserit are trained in “the minutiae of observation”, noticing details that the common person would miss in the people and environment around them. When combined with their analytical abilities, this “hyperawareness” makes the Bene Gesserit capable of divining secrets and arriving at conclusions that are invisible to everyone else.
It’s no surprise I love Dune and reading of the Bene Gesserit, as I have a Virgo stellium and giant Neptuner, both leading me to be conscious of physical and spiritual health.
The first step to balance is awareness.
May the road to health rise up to meet you…
Electric Moon
To dream of a lodestone denotes favorable opportunities for advancement, it is an omen of happy changes.
My Neptune (rules dreams) is in the 11th house, the natural house of Aquarius – ruled by Uranus, which rules magnetics and lightning.
Lodestones are magnetic, said to be naturally magnetized by lightning strike.
The moon is full in Aquarius, the sign of inventors, humanitarians and forward- thinkers.
~~~~~~~~~
Now for some progressive astro science ~> Uranus rules science and astrology !
An iron core inserted into a solenoid (wire coil with electric current running through it) can multiply the magnetic field in the solenoid by a factor of tens, even thousands.  *

So I’ve been giving lots of attention to what I am magnetically attracting via my Mars (rules iron) trine from the 11th to the 3rd house of thinking.

Mars needs to lead and Uranus isn’t a follower, but in my case they are working together (Mars Quintile -spiritual gifts- Uranus) on a path of spiritual freedom and exploration.

~~~~~~~~~~~
I also have the magnetic Sun conjunct Uranus (rules magnetics) so I keep an eye on the solar cycles and any activity on the surface of the sun.  The picture above is a X6.9 flare 4 days ago.  The most powerful flare measured with modern methods was in 2003, during the last solar maximum, and it was so powerful that it overloaded the sensors measuring it. The sensors cut out at X28. *
I have read that some sensitive to solar activity can be more likely to have seiziures, dizziness, or disrupted sleep during heightened solar geomagnetic storms.
I experienced some slight dizziness during the last one, but as far as I’m conerned, the jury’s still out.  Did you feel anything ?
Uranus rules vision, magnetics and birds.  In the late 1970s, the physicist Klaus Schulten concluded that birds navigate by relying on geomagnetically sensitive biochemical reactions in their eyes, specifically, the protein cryptochrome. *
I have a very good sense of direction…where is your Uranus and how is your sense of direction..?  I am curious.   (Uranus rules curiosity)
Uranus also rules sensitive skin and conjunct Sun, I am prone to sunstroke…especially at high altitudes, and I tend to be a bit high-strung as Uranus rules the nervous system.
~~~~~~~~

Aquarius is an air (communication) sign, but known as the water-bearer.
It is a fixed sign, yet totally unpredictable.

Uranus can be fabulous highly charged eccentric ideas coming in flash twinges of intuition ( I knew I would own the house I presently live in when my foot- Neptune rules the feet- touched the driveway) or it can be erratic shocking shakedowns coming out of nowhere that cause a change in perspective in an instant.

Neptune rules humming (probably why I heard the Taos hum) and Aquarius rules birds.  I could tell you a story about how my Neptune squares from Scorpio to Leo (rules the heart) can be wrapped up in a tiny little bird with a heart rate that can reach up to 1260 beats in a minute….but I won’t.  That’s my 8th house of secrets, I’ll just say I have learned to regenerate and that’s all the Mercury Rx ‘pay dirt’ you’re gonna get.

Role it out

Ta DA Leos !

O dot has rolled out the red hot carpet for the big cats !  Can’t help but look, they shine like the sun !  They are effortlessly regal…eyes giving the slow perusal before prowling after you.  RAWR !   I have Leo on my 8th house, so I’m gonna serve up an astro story sexy, scruffy-style…  *lick*
Here we have mega-Leo, Daniel : Leo Sun conjunct Mercury – Venus conjunct Mars <- ok, that’s a doozy… tres, tres sexy Leo, yes..?!   He’s gotta lotta love in that heart of his.  Best yet, he’s a humble reserved Leo (hey~ anything’s possible) with Uranus, Saturn and Neptune conjunct in Capricorn.  Unusual career in film and stage ?  Bingo !  Who to better embody a courageous, noble hero who saves the world…?

Well….how about this sexy man who also saves the world, but from the opposite side of the wheel..?!

Here we have mega-Aquarian, Elijah.  Aquarius Sun, with Mercury conjunct Mars (both square to Uranus).  I’m going with Scorpio rising here (eyelids are sleepy, sexy).  Also Scorp rising puts Uranus (the unusual) on the 29th culmination degree of the first house which rules the eyes – and Elijah is well-known for his mesmerizing blue eyes.

Elijah is definitely a communicator with so much air. Mercury is exalted in Aquarius, plus being conjunct Mars gives it an extra kick. Expansive Jupiter Rx is conjunct Saturn Rx in Libra the sign of art, beauty and balance; and Saturn Rx is exalted here – meaning he will only get better as he gets older and his retrogrades kick in.

Obviously he is handsome, artistic and despite growing up in Hollyweird, he is relatively normal – but weird enough to fascinate. (Compliment !)  He’s a really hard worker (Jupiter conjunct Saturn in Libra) who actually enjoys it (Venus in Capricorn).  He respects the art of time honored crafts and traditions and has grown up learning from mentors in the business; both film and music. (Jupiter conjunct Saturn in Libra)

I gotta pop in some Neptune music trivia on this one ~> Elijah is a total music freak; seriously a walking encyclopedia of music of all genres.  He owns his own record company named Simian Records; he has directed, filmed, and appeared in many music videos. Also a huge photography aficionado, he has lucky, expansive Jupiter -quintile (spiritual gifts)- Neptune, which rules not only film, but also music.

OK, here’s the deal…Leos and Aquarians are on the same wavelength, but on opposite sides of the wheel from each other.

Leo motto: I WILL
Aquarians motto: I KNOW.

Both signs are yang; or expressive, direct and outgoing.
Leos have an insular pride; Aquarians an Earth pride of humankind.
Leos tend to be friendly; Aquarians, more stand-offish.
Leos love to be admired; Aquarians really don’t give a rat’s ass.
Leos are group; Aquarians, wild, more solitary.

Both signs are very caring, but show it in different ways.
Leos are fire in the belly; Aquarians are lighting flashes of intuition, tres cerebral.
Now onto my story…

Daniel and Elijah resemble each other; each has saved the world in blockbuster films, should be totally recognizable; yet they are still mistaken for one another on the street.  I have read this story more than once; cannot give you the source; but if you dig, you’ll find it in television interviews and/or print.  Found it !
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Elijah is riding in an elevator…doors open… guy gets on—keeps staring… searching inner data banks for recognition–then aha !  ‘I’ve got it, you’re Harry Potter !‘  Elijah’s response:  “Nope.‘  Guy quizzically shakes head…both resume riding in silence staring at the numbers lighting up as floors ascend… *
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Daniel is approached by a man: “Dude, I loved Lord of the Rings”…Daniel graciously says, “Thanks !’ signs autograph Elijah Wood because he doesn’t have the heart to tell him otherwise.
…and that folks, is how you tell a Leo from an Aquarian !

*Please note: Elijah is ranked # 7 in best Hollywood autograph signers, he is kind and patient with his fans, the above is only one. story. out of many many  good ones.

Bonus round :
Did I mention I have Venus conjunct Jupiter in Leo?
hee hee
Rawr !
