the face of the Earth

As the palms of the hand or placement of moles on the body tell tales of the life of a human, meteorite falls speak the history and future of Gaia.

Chinese face reading is based on the same ancient science as acupuncture, references have been found in texts that date back to 600 B.C.E.  The study is based on the micro/macro universe, meaning each part of the body is a representation of the whole.

The face is broken up into zones of life: hairline is adolescence, forehead 20’s, eyes 30’s, nose 40’s, mouth 50’s, chin 60’s, jaw 70’s, sides of face 80’s & 90’s, bottom of chin 99/100.

The top third portion of the face is the analytical zone, the middle is the practical zone, and the bottom third is the intuitive zone.

The right side of your face is the public side, the left is the private side, what you keep to yourself.

Chinese face reading considers anything that sticks out on the face a sign of good luck.  For instance, most moles are considered good luck, they are extra metal – metal refines, it is inward moving energy, contracting and hardening.  Metal represents the time of late fall and old age.

Any scars on the face have the effect of diminishing the power that feature symbolizes.  For instance a scar on the chin would decrease willpower, a scar on the eyebrow would decrease self – confidence.  (A unibrow signifies an overabundance of pushy wood energy, a tendency towards bossiness, frustration and anger.)

It is interesting to note my Mother and I each have a mole above our eyebrow.  Mine is above my left (private), hers is above her right (public).  She has a chart that is very nearly a grand sextile and she enjoys groups, clubs etc…  I have Neptune (the hidden) most highly aspected, Sun conjunct rebellious Uranus, and I do my own thing.
I. don’t. do. groups. or clubs. or etc.. haha
(The only herd I belong to is its own indescribable chaotic masterpiece.)

Barringer Crater, east of Flagstaff, AZ

Mountains are Yang – masculine, active, outgoing energy.
Day, conscious awareness.

Valleys are Yin – feminine, reactive, introverted energy.
Night, unconscious instinctual awareness.

Barringer Crater (yin) is located in the middle third (practical zone – builders and steady achievers *), on Arizona’s (ground standpoint) left half (privately owned crater), on the right (public or famous) half of the United States.

*Daniel Moreau Barringer’s struggle to prove the impact origin of his crater is an example of the enormous difference that one determined individual can make – even if that individual is a non-scientist working to change the prevailing scientific view. His story tells us about the importance of intuitive leaps, careful data-gathering, stubbornness, and even self-interest in the progress of science.

The native Saguaro cactus are found in the lower third of Arizona, the intuitive (water) zone.  Saguaro can absorb hundreds of gallons of water during a storm, sometimes weighing up to 3 tons.  They are only found in the Sonoran desert (SW Arizona, part of Baja, California).
Arizona means ‘small spring’, the state motto is “Ditat Deus” or, God Enriches, it is largely known for being the Grand Canyon or Copper state.

When considering the ‘scar’ or crater…the meteor fell 50,000 years ago during the last ice age.  Arizona is ruled by Aquarius, the sign traditionally ruled by both Saturn (earth and time) and Uranus (sudden surprises).   Saturn also rules falling and rocks.

In Chinese face reading, the placement of a scar (age zone) will be when the issue or lesson will be re-addressed in the life.  Around 50,000 years ago humans began building more efficient tools, and making art to bury with their dead.  Linguists surmise it may be language that made the leap possible.

Uranus is the higher octave of Mercury (communication), so perhaps when humans start communicating telepathically, via the earth energy grid, we will have learned the lesson of the crater.

The above is a map of US meteorite finds + falls as of July, 2009.
The map below is world-wide falls as of 2000.

Keep in mind that the earth is covered by 70 % water, and many craters are under the sea, only detectable by satellite imaging.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Recent worldwide meteorite falls (click here – takes time to load)

Most of the world-wide landmass strikes have been above the Tropic of Cancer, the upper third of the world (analytical).  The falls seem pretty evenly divided on either side of the prime meridian, so that’s a toss up.

One could always read the landfalls like tea leaves…I see a boomerang or maybe a kangaroo with a long tail in Australia.
It could be divination through meteorite ‘constellations’…!
Connect the dots, study and make your myth.
I also find it interesting that Hollyweird is about as right (public, famous) as it gets in the US, and in the lower third (intuitive Neptune/film zone) of California.

So what do you think ?
What do read in your face and on the face of our earth..?

Listed below are the major 2012 meteor showers visible during the night where the expected Zenith Hourly Rate (ZHR) of meteors will be 10 or more, or where the rate may be variable.

Since more meteors are always seen after midnight, these dates are the best mornings to observe.

Much more geology and meteorite impact info here (click).

Transiting Venus (which is conjunct transiting Neptune) is opposite the degree between my natal Venus/Jupiter conjunction (that square Neptune) in the 8th at the moment…snap !

Divination post !

Neptune is waterfalling all over the place, and Neptune rules divination.
Pluto also rules divination / metaphysics and by transit is square my Saturn (earth), which is my chart ruler.
ta da !  Earth divination !  …enjoy…  & stay tuned, the actor’s chart I am doing next has a connection with this crater !

Lastly, for the record, I don’t think we are going to die from a giant meteor strike, giant comet, giant aliens, etc… I just love science and divination !

cloudberry

Rubus Villosus/Rubus Fructicosus (Blackberry)
Feminine, Venus, water.
 Also known as: Bramble-Kite, Cloudberry, Dewberry, Thimbleberry

Astrological:  Primary: Libra, Taurus
Secondary: Cancer, Pisces, Scorpio

God: Lugh  God of Light, the Harvest, All – Skills, August festival Lughnasa is in his honor.
Goddess: Brigit   Goddess of the fires of inspiration, healing, divination and smithing.
Lugh and Brigit are patrons of arts and crafts.

Blackberry fruit contain vast amounts of anthocyanocides, which are found in the pigment that gives the berries their color. Anthocyanocides are powerful antioxidants that help to reverse cell damage caused by free radicals, and are reported to be instrumental in preventing heart disease, cancer and strokes.

Blackberries can be used as an astringent or tonic: infusing the leaves in warm water will help rid the kidneys of stones, the fruit is good for the the gastrointestinal tract, and the root has strong astringent properties.

The blackberry stimulates and awakens love and sweetness.

The thorns and brambles of this plant teach that patience and persistence will eventually bear sweet fruit.  Blackberry enhances forgiveness that comes over time and with loving efforts.

Blackberry is very helpful to enhance quieter states of meditation, it calms the anxious mind and teaches a patient path to enlightenment.  It also counteracts the Libran tendency towards indecision and procrastination. It increases the formation of goals into action via willpower.

The 3rd, Manipura, (solar plexus) chakra is strengthened, along with the bladder.

When there is any difficulty with the planet Saturn, even if it is only a hard aspect with the fast-moving moon, blackberry will help.

The blackberry helps to increase patience, and it eases the onset of age on the physical plane, while also enhancing the spiritual and astral bodies.

Fantasea

How cool is this ?
The photo is from here, a terrific photo-filled post about the sculptural artist Jason deCaires Taylor . (click for artist website)

My biggie Neptune (sea) square Venus (art) in Leo (creativity) really digs this !
My Neptune is also opposite Moon, (Neptune= ocean, Moon= tides) so oceanic art is right up my alley ~> Sculptural art placed in the sea and left to age ?!  Very cool !
(Saturn rules age and time, and is my chart ruler)
I was a sculpture major in college, so this really speaks to me.
Working and weaving art in tune with Mother Nature.
(Saturn rules work and spiders/weaving webs/ knots.)
Naturalists are Saturn and Neptune ruled.  Neptune rules inspired art.
Does Jason’s art inspire you..?

Look to the Neptune in your natal chart to see how you are inspired, and how you inspire others

Look for conjuntions to indicate where matters are dreamy, foggy, underwater, basically you are operating on pure inspiration and spiritual guidance.
 (This is also also where you need to be cautious of illusions, and delusions.)
Look for any squares to Neptune to see how you will reach deep within for inspiration.
Look to any oppositions to Neptune to see where others will directly inspire you.

Georgia on my mind

Pictured above is American artist Georgia O’Keefee in the New Mexico lands she loved.

I was thinking last night of how my brother was always dragging things in from the woods (I do the same) morels, feathers, skulls, interesting wood things, you name it.  My skulls and turtle shells (found, not killed !) would probably turn Feng Shui aficionados on their heads, but I love skulls and natural things.  I have strong Scorpio placements (rules death), and all the horned signs are active in my chart, so it makes sense to me.  (Cap rising, Moon in Toro, Saturn in Aries)  We are born to die, may as well accept it.

It reminded me of Georgia, who loved skulls and bones and painted them over and over in her red rock, blue sky landscapes.
I have been to Abiquiu, Taos, and much later, to her museum in Santa Fe.  I traveled the whole area because I wanted to see what she saw.  I wanted to see what she painted.  I stood on the sandy dry road in tiny Abiquiu and marveled at a wooden door set in an adobe wall.

It was her door, she painted it so many times, I knew it instantly.
~~~~~~~~~
Georgia, a Scorpio Sun, Moon, Mercury and Jupiter blazed a trail in the art world.  I love the depth with which she viewed the natural world around her.
Her eyes gave life to the universe within a flower.
~~~~~~~~~
Georgia also had Venus (art) conjunct Uranus (innovation) in Venus ruled Libra.  Venus in her chart is not only conjunct Uranus, but also trine a Neptune Pluto conjunction, that’s revolutionary artist without a doubt.

Neptune is in earthy Taurus (rendering the beauty found in earth), Pluto in Gemini.  She was not only mentally sharp and curious, but also incredibly versatile and a powerful communicator through her craft.  Pluto in Gemini (rules hands) indicates her beautiful, graceful hands – her photographer husband, Alfred Stieglitz photographed them many, many times.

It also indicates the enormous volume of correspondence (Mercury) via post between them.  They were often separated and negotiated (Pluto- power) terms of their relationship through the post.

~~~~~~~~~~
Alfred took the photo above.  He was older than Georgia by 23 years, and they greatly influenced each other.  Saturn not only indicates work, and where you are forced to achieve, but also an older person, a male figure (along with the Sun) in the natal chart.  Georgia has Saturn conjunct North Node of Destiny in Leo the sign of creativity.
Her Saturn is also trine Moon and Mercury in Scorpio.  She loved working in her garden (Moon and Saturn rule) and communicated (Mercury) her depth of feeling (Moon) through her artwork.   Georgia had Mars in Virgo sextile Scorpio Sun and Jupiter, again another aspect of depth.  Mars is powering Virgo analysis of what and how to express (Mercury) the power (Scorpio) within.
Virgos notice everything – keep their eyes on everything – as they sort it out.
Scorpios notice everything – hone in on one thing they desire – laser beam focus on that one thing.
~~~~~~~~~~
Here is some quick synastry between Georgia and Alfred:

conjunct = power operating
Georgia’s Moon, Mercury, Sun and Jupiter in Scorpio were conjunct his Venus, Jupiter and North Node of Destiny, also in Scorpio.
Georgia’s Uranus was conjunct Alfred’s Saturn in Libra.  (Uranus is the unexpected break, and Libra is relationships – when Alfred met Georgia, he took up with her, and divorced his wife.)
Georgia’s Venus is conjunct Alfred’s Moon.

trine=harmony
His Moon is trine her Neptune Pluto conjunction.
Georgia’s Saturn is trine Alfred’s Mars, and also trine his Neptune.
Alfred’s Neptune is trine Georgia’s Scorpio stellium.
Alfred’s Mercury is trine Georgia’s Neptune Pluto conjunction.

* Neptune rules film and Alfred took hundreds of photographic portraits of Georgia.

* Also worthy of note: Georgia has no squares (internal conflict), only oppositions (something someone else does).

Georgia’s Scorpio stellium is opposite her Neptune Pluto conjunction indicating not only the impact New Mexico (land of her inspiration- Saturn rules NM and the land) had on her life, but also the impact of her photographer husband, Alfred.

Click here (& scroll down) for a lovely video that matches some of her paintings up with the landscapes near her home.
I will leave you with another of my favorites from the Jack-in-the-Pulpit series.

moonlight mojo

New Moon in Capricorn, folks.  Draw up your maps, plot your course  !

New moon signals a time of planting seeds for future growth, new moon in Capricorn – specifically long term yield and growth on the material plane.  Capricorn is the career driven 10th house sign – the midheaven – the peak of public achievements.  Capricorn rules time, building, Earth and stones.

I am a Capricorn rising with this new moon conjunct my Ascendant, quintile (spiritual gifts) Mercury, trine my Venus /Jupiter on the 8th (my Pluto is also in the 8th which rules mines) so ~ a timely I love rocks / crystals post !

Sun and Moon are coming up to conjunct Pluto in Capricorn, which rules mines and the underground where crystals are formed…hmmm…perhaps this is the light in dark places I was referring to in a previous post !

~~~~~
Pictured above is a specimen of rainbow moonstone, ruled by Moon and Neptune.  (I have Moon exalted in Toro, opposite Neptune which is my most highly aspected planet, and I wear rainbow moonstone often.)
Moonstone is a feldspar, a type of rock which makes up to 60% of the earth’s crust.  You may come into contact with feldspar every day without even knowing it.  Resistant to chemical corrosion, it is used in glassmaking, ceramics, as a filler in paint, plastics, and rubber.  Moonstone is formed by twinning which is the layering of atoms between chemically compatible (high temperatures) and incompatible (low temperatures) intergrowths which separates the layers causing shimmer and refraction of light.
~~~~~
A few words about my kinship with stones :

The person carrying the stone must seek enlightenment within/without, but I DO see stones as lower frequency fortifiers, if you will, while on the journey.

A cleanse/ prayer/ intent fashioned as an energy to work in accordance with the stone, which I feel holds the frequency of the intent longer and over a more drawn out period of time because of its slower vibration.

Then it works as a ‘helper’.  For example, if in a busy moment in a noisy crowd, it can be a ‘touch- stone’ reminder of the committment made during the longer cleanse/prayer ceremony.

Like a mental breaker switch- touch it- get a reminder of the direction of personal will and intent.  When under stressful energies, it is there to fortify.

With that said, an acorn, buckeye, piece of driftwood, shell or whatever could hold the same gift from an above ground/ in the sea standpoint, particularly if it was a gift from a loved one ~ which adds a zing to the vibe.

While river stones and crystals are earthEarthEARTH underground and hold power in a different way since they are formed over eons by pressure.

I feel they offer a solid document, if you will, of the agreement humans make coming into this Earth arena.  They are remnants of our ancestors and carry knowledge of other times in rock form.

When I hold a fossil, ammonite in particular, I am reminded of time and my small, yet important place in it – am reminded to act accordingly as the spiral of life reaches ever outward.

Think of the stones as allies on the journey.  My stones will remain long after I’m gone … gives perspective, you know..?
~~~~~~~~
~~~~~~~
Moonstone is the stone of the High Priestess, the keeper of divine feminine mysteries.

It can be used to aid the journey inward, reveal emotions, instincts and hidden memories.  It is helpful in dealing with fluctuation, cycles, changes, and it fosters serenity, sensitivity, and nurturing.

Moonstone can help guide you on your spiritual journey with the aid of the Great Mother, Gaia.  Moonstone teaches the cycles of life and how to work with them, it helps give insight, a higher perspective, a higher vibration, and increases empathic abilities.

Rainbow moonstone is a protection stone that diffuses a rainbow prism of energies throughout the aura, it helps deflect negativity and clears the emotional body.

Historically, (it wouldn’t be a Cappy Moon, and I wouldn’t be a Cappy ASC if I didn’t go into the history) moonstone is said to predict the future if held under the tongue on a full moon.
Hindus believed it was moonlight, hardened.  It was used to aid in birth (I am currently having Pluto square Saturn – my chart ruler and am using it to aid in re-birth), restore balance and harmony between feuding lovers (pass the same moonstone between each other every two weeks) as well as to cure sleeplessness.  It is a good stone for teenagers as it helps balance and soften the emotions and alleviates mood imbalances.

On a subtle energy level, moonstone when used as an elixir, is beneficial for female health of all kinds.  It alleviates stomach (moon ruled) and digestion problems by activating the Manipura, or solar plexus chakra behind the navel.

It also is very beneficial for alleviating anxiety and stress by bringing balance to the emotional body.  On a cellular level, moonstone elixir regenerates human skin tissue and stimulates the pituitary (master of hormone production) gland.

Moonstone aligns the astral and emotional bodies.

caverns old

Venus (love, friends) square Saturn (earth, hobbits) square Jupiter (travelers, adventurers).
Squares are friction and they get us up and moving…!
Trines are easy, somewhat lazy.
For the record, I actually think hobbits in general are Taurus, but…
Bilbo and Frodo have The One Ring and that’s Saturn without a doubt.

Dwarves !  Dwarves live in the Mines of Moria and mines are Pluto.
Sun is coming up to conjunct Pluto, so expect a light in dark places very soon haha stop me with the elvish quotes already !
Another year until The Hobbit.   Ack !   Patience, precioussss…
Mercury communication is square Mars the tease.
Saturn patience opposite (compromise) Jupiter (distant travel) teaser trailer.  haha

Astrobling

One of the things I love about astrology is how it explains so much about people.
Astrology explains who and what, even how you like.
For instance Neptune is my most highly aspected planet and it rules the sea.
I should be an ocean gal, then right..?!
No.
Mountain girl all the way !
Why is that..?
My Neptune has squares (conflict), while my chart ruler, Saturn (Saturn is Earth, rules Capricorn my Ascendant, is the mountain goat) has a trine (ease) to Mars.
That feels better.
Look to your chart, you will find yourself naturally going for the trines and sextiles every time.  They are the back door, the trapdoor, and the secret passage out of trouble with squares and oppositions in your chart.

Here is a pic of stuff I had gathered pre-astro knowledge.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

I have Saturn trine Mars (steel, fire & the forge).

Sun conjunct the morphed metal is my Virgo Sun conjunct Uranus Pluto (heat, change, morph, forge) in the 9th (lucky horseshoe).I have Libra at Midheaven (ruled by Venus, art), hence balance sculpture/art.
My Venus (art, friends) is conjunct Jupiter in Leo (creativity, luck).
I am an artist, and have creative friends, I like cats.
I have a ‘thing’ about naming things. Mercury (names) at MC, with Neptune (fictitious names) most highly aspected.
I have changed my name to something mystical – representing polarities, time and union.
My cats have names that mean ‘friend’.
Neptune is my most highly aspected planet and it rules film & photography.

Look to your chart to see what you like written in the symbols of the skies …
