goofy as all get out

I don’t usually watch television, but I did watch Craig a few nights ago and was reminded of the poignant Late Late Show show several years ago where he divulged his battle with alcoholism.  He was brutally honest and his story was deeply moving…

I don’t remember if I had quit drinking myself at that point or not.  I don’t drink anymore – Venus conj Jupiter (love; expansion, respectively) square Neptune (liquor).  I liked to drink, then I realized if I quit drinking and smoking, I wouldn’t have to work 7 days a week.
Done. Deal. Sober !

Craig is a Taurus Sun, Gemini Rising, Moon in Libra.  Moon brings fluctuation to the house of balance.  Pisces (Neptune rules) Jupiter in trine to Scorpio Neptune can definitely mean an excess of fun times in the water signs.

Craig has Saturn in Aquarius at MC in 10 in square to Neptune.  That means a need to hit the brakes (Saturn), but reluctance to do it.  Mercury, Craig’s chart ruler is focal point of a T-Square with Pisces Jupiter (conjunct Chiron) and Pluto in Virgo (Jupiter and Pluto oppose each other – signaling a big need for transformation.

I wanted to see the aspects for the day he quit drinking.  (2/18/92)

Saturn – ruled Capricorn restraint won over – dig this – on the day Craig quit drinking:

Saturn return 11 degrees Aquarius.
Venus
Mars
Uranus
Neptune
North Node of Destiny all in Capricorn

Also Mercury, Craig’s chart ruler had just passed into Pisces at 1 degree.  His transiting Sun had just passed opposing natal Uranus from the sign of Aquarius.  (Craig’s natal Uranus squares his natal Sun)

Aquarius is ruled by Uranus – sudden breaks or separations.
It is the radical wildcard – which in conjunction with a ton of Capricorn restraint, helped Craig begin a life of sobriety.

Still goofy as all get out – totally loveable too …  xo

Well Done Craig !

Way of the Dragon

Lee Jun Fan
Bruce Lee.
Respect !

Way of the Dragon, indeed.
Born in the hour of the dragon, in a metal dragon year – double dragon is extremely powerful, very auspicious.  Dragon rules the energetic morning hours between 7-9am.  Unpredictable, ambitious, opinionated, outspoken and lucky are traits of dragon hours.

Metal dragon of 1940 is a gleaming sword.  Future – oriented, decisive and natural – born leaders, metal dragons are fair and honest.  Lessons to learn are tact, flexibility, relaxation.
:::::::::

I haven’t been as stunned by a natal chart since I saw the grand water trines of Nostradamus.

Bruce Lee’s powerful Pluto is packing a punch as focal planet of several T-Squares.
Pluto forces the personal will and outward energies of Mars  to a higher octave.

Pluto is divine will – implosive power and force channeled, focused into explosive extremes of energy that manifest in outward metamorphosis.

Bruce channeled this magical transformative Plutonic energy into extraordinary physical prowess.  Onscreen he led the globe to recognize the spiritual beauty and grace of martial arts.

Born in San Francisco and raised in Hong Kong, Bruce had appeared in 20 films by age 18.  Bruce moved back to the states when he turned 19, majoring in philosophy at the University of Washington, Seattle.

In later years he practiced, taught and wrote of the evolution of his way of martial arts, which he called Jeet Kune Do, “The Way of The Intercepting Fist.”

Bruce read and wrote extensively his thoughts about physical combat, the psychology of fighting, the philosophical roots of martial arts, and about motivation, self-actualization and liberation of the individual. (source)

Bruce Lee was a 12th house Sagittarius Sun, Scorpio Moon, Mercury, Venus and Mars.
Intense, unusual spiritual quest was definitely on the menu with this 11th house stellium. Nearly all his personal planets are ruled by his focal planet, Pluto.

Bruce was creative power incarnate.  Leonine Pluto taps into the center of being , the power of WILL in tandem with the strength of the heart: spirit, honor, kindness and generosity.

His winning card – Sag in 12th has secret allies – his Sun is trine the house Sun naturally rules, Leo.  He shines brilliant spiritual fires of the phoenix from a dark well of Plutonic power which rests on the 8th, the house Pluto naturally rules.

Scorpio fixates, obsesses, probes and penetrates the mysteries fearlessly tapping the still waters of the soul seeking control.  Sun in trine to Pluto learns self-control, then teaches the philosophy to others. Eleventh house stellium packed with Scorpionic power shares intellectual enlightenment gleaned from within for the betterment of earthkind.

The creative 5th house & intellectual 11th house axis is activated – what I have opposes what we have. Bruce wanted artistic control of teaching and communicating his way of Jeet Kune Do, financial gain was not paramount, the spiritual way of martial arts (Neptune 10 conj MC) life was most important to him.

Stealth in the 12th ~>  Sag Sun trines Pluto: his aim to bring spiritual insight to the masses – a public display of personal power controlled, harnessed ~> superhuman force applied with spiritual discipline to achieve enlightenment and transcend personal limitations.  Note Sun quintiles MC as well.  Mars rules his creative 5th house: action hero, onscreen.

Taurean Uranus trines Virgo Neptune in the 10th at MC – earth plane manifestation of unusual zen principles – martial arts philosophy was woven into his daily life, spirituality was Bruce was spirituality.  Graceful precision of movement on film was his destiny.

Libran North Node quincunx Saturn, quite possibly he knew the toll intense overwork (Saturn conjunct Jupiter) would have on the physical vehicle, but felt he was unable to comply with normal standards of rest.  He needed to share, he sought peace and balance through work, his art.  Uranus is restless in Venus- ruled Taurus, stillness must be continually cultivated, and it does not come easy.

Bruce had Uranus quintile Pluto – his talents and spiritual gifts had a profound impact on the world – he helped introduce gung fu to the world through teaching martial arts.

::::::::::

Be like water making its way through cracks. Do not be assertive, but adjust to the object, and you shall find a way around or through it. If nothing within you stays rigid, outward things will disclose themselves.

::::::::::

Not being tense but ready.
Not thinking but not dreaming.
Not being set but flexible.
Liberation from the uneasy sense of confinement.
It is being wholly and quietly alive, aware and alert, ready for whatever may come.

Nikki Giovanni

I was thrilled to have the opportunity to hear one of my favorite poets, Nikki Giovanni speak recently ~ she was dazzling, vivacious, insightful, bawdy and very direct !

I knew she was a Gemini, but I couldn’t wait to get home and look up more details about her chart and the life she described so vividly.
Nikki is a life path 3.  This indicates a life of creation, expansion, exploration, reconciliation and communication.  Nikki is a Gemini Sun, Leo Moon with Cancer rising which makes Moon her chart ruler.

First thing I notice is the majority of her planets fall into the Eastern hemisphere – she is in a sowing incarnation and is in control of her life circumstances.

Second thing I notice is the lack of difficult (square, opposition) aspects between the planetary bodies.  (Scroll down to the key to see her squares to Chiron, ASC and MC)  Her one opposition is between the planet of poetry, Neptune, and Mars (power) elevated, in Aries the sign Mars rules.  Mars in 10th is a powerful placement, it indicates a strong, self-assured go-getter in life and career. (10th is the natural house of Capricorn where Mars is exalted.)

Nikki has some whopping powerful conjunctions as well. (…possibly why the universe cut her some slack on squares and oppositions..?..)  Sun conjunct Saturn makes Nikki serious and purposeful in speech (Gemini) and, in fact, all forms of communication.

Moon (chart ruler) conjunct Pluto, brings a powerhouse of intense emotional experiences, which in Leo, WILL (Leo motto) be channeled into creative endeavors.

Oddly, the universe pitches me another Venus conjunct Jupiter person this week, YaY !
Not only is the fabulous aspect in the sky above us (in the Grand Earth $$ Trine I talk about here) (and here), I have it (Leo), Smokey Robinson has it (Aries), and so does Nikki (Cancer) – odd that, everyone pops UP all at once …!

Cancer rising with Venus conjunct Jupiter (Jupiter is exalted in Cancer), shows tremendous sensitivity and compassion for others, great depth of generosity and kindness.

Nikki also has Mercury conjunct (out of sign) Uranus, its higher octave, which gives her keen perceptive abilities.

Leo is packed, so Nikki is firey and dramatic, she easily captivates her audiences, rousing emotions and stirring minds with her expressive words and ideas.  She is a Gemini and, yes- she talks with her hands (Gemini rules the hands) as well, so I included this small pic.

I left Lilith for last, because Nikki made such an impression on me when she spoke of courageous women in her life, those women she admired and proudly praised for being leaders in the civil rights movement.  She spoke of heroines that not only inspired her generation, but all generations following.  The women she spoke of included Rosa Parks, Maya Angelou, Toni Morrison, and Coretta Scott King to name a few.

Nikki has Lilith conjunct Venus (females) and it is placed in a very powerful rolling conjunction ~ Lilith in her case is a firey reactive goddess that springs from the creative depths to shine a light on social injustice.

Deja Vu

I have been aware of David Wilcock for years, through Coast-to-Coast radio and information and interviews there.  I have watched many YouTube videos, read parts of his website Divine Cosmos.
I am now reading his book, The Source Field Investigations.  David has spent years investigating and compiling scientific proof of connections between life forms through the energetic ‘source field’ or unified field theory.

A bit of history : Albert Einstein coined the term “Unified Field Theory,” which describes any attempt to unify the fundamental forces of physics between elementary particles into a single theoretical framework.

Scientists such as Rupert Sheldrake are delving into, and expanding upon similar scientific work today. The topic of morphic resonance (Sheldrakes work) is covered in David’s compilation of researched material, as well as some fascinating studies on human interaction with plants, crop circles, UFO’s and remote viewing.  It is definitely worth a read simply because David has gathered loads of spiritual scientific studies all in one book.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Reportedly David may be the re-incarnation of Edgar Cayce.  I do not support nor deny this claim – you can make up your own mind.  I am a disseminating moon – just tossing out the info – that’s what I do.  Other astrologers have compared the two charts and you can read my interpretation of Edgars natal here.
So now for David and his natal chart.
David is a life path 4.  He is here to employ logic and reason in order to build solid foundations, establish structure and achieve results on the physical plane.
This is further indicated by Mars exalted in Earth, trine Moon, also exalted in earth.
This indicates detailed, long-term, meticulous building for the public good.  Moon in 6th (natural ruler of the 6th, is Virgo the public servant).
Mars exalted conjunct North Node of Destiny in Capricorn, both of which are trine Moon (public).  His work is to be heard by and benefit, many people.
David is a Pisces Sun, Venus (Venus is exalted in Pisces) and Mercury.
This indicates sensitivity, also indicated by Moon in Taurus, exalted.
Pluto is elevated (10th), as well as Uranus and Saturn (above the horizon) – he is here to transform, and make changes through his work, otherwise, he is fairly private.
Venus is the focal point of his T-Square with Saturn and Neptune opposite each other.  Working globally for universal love and compassion will likely be his strength rather than working for it on a personal basis.  Venus is personal love – square work and mysticism – Saturn in Gemini 7th, indicates work relationships and often 2 or more jobs. He is a busy fellow, who likes work and study.
Chart ruler, Pluto in Libra 10 conjunct Part of Fortune he is a catalyst for change, particularly focusing on communication with others.  Mercury is quintile North Node of Destiny – Jupiter the planet of exploration and expansion (traditional ruler of Pisces) is in Aquarius (the revolutionary) quintile Ascendant and Chiron – healing on a vast scale through transforming the way people think and communicate with one another.
Saturn in Gemini again, gives depth and structure to communication – David invites us to open our minds and heal ourselves through using the creative will of our own actions (Neptune trine Chiron).  He is a leader in the spiritual realm – seeking enlightenment, and compassionate inclusiveness between all beings.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Well, now that I have read Davids chart, I am seeing the possibilities of the past life connections with Edgar.  Edgar had Mars and Jupiter conjunct in Capricorn – he basically did so many one-on-one energy draining readings, he worked himself to death.

In Davids chart, Pluto trine Jupiter indicates transformation on a large scale (rather than on an individual basis).  He gets a lot of criticism (Pluto opposite Mercury) because he’s shaking the tree, making people think (Mercury sextile Jupiter in 3rd).

Saturn trine Uranus in the 11th of Libra, he is communicating options – a way of revolutionizing the way we (earthkind) express and view love for each other and the earth (Venus sextile Moon exalted in earthy Taurus, Venus rules Libra) and he delivers the science (Uranus trine Saturn) to back it up.

Mars exalted in Earth trine Moon, also exalted in earth –  detailed, long-term, meticulous building for the public good.  Moon in 6th (natural ruler of the 6th, is Virgo the public servant).

Now that I have read both charts, I think David may be Edgar, back for another round…if so, he’s certainly here to work in communications large scale and reach a larger audience this time around.
I am also off to read more closely the link I gave above comparing the 2 charts – I held off until I had read them myself.
What do you think …?

Hoss

Loretta Lynn & Patsy Cline
These are my refrigerator magnets.  Obviously, I love these gals.
The first one I bought was the Patsy magnet. I was in Nashville, at the Ernest Tubb record store, across the street from Tootsie’s Orchid Lounge, which is right behind the Grand Olde Opry.
Incidentally, in 1961, Loretta was singing some of Patsy’s songs live on the radio from the Ernest Tubb record store, when Patsy heard her (she was recovering from a car crash in the hospital at the time) and asked her husband, Charlie, to go and fetch Loretta – she wanted to meet her.  Loretta was thrilled and a life – long friendship was born.  The chart below shows the transits for the car crash I am speaking of.

Patsy was a life path 5, she challenged the status quo and lived her life her way.
She was born just after the first quarter moon which indicates a life of action and crisis control – it is a moon of versatility and trailblazing.

Patsy was a raucous bawdy stand – up gal who stuck up for herself and others with strength of character and a great generosity of spirit.  Patsy was a Virgo, Capricorn Moon, with Gemini rising – Mercury chart ruler.

Mercury is at 29 (culmination degree) of Leo conjunct the nadir.  Virgo stellium in the 4th house of feeling.  Mercury conjunct Jupiter – that amps up any and all forms of self – expression.  Tightly conjunct Neptune the inspired musician – all the feelings from the well of water – felt and soaked up from others – comes pouring out through the divine vehicle – the voice.  Patsy has this entire Virgo stellium trine Capricorn Moon in the 7th.  She sang with such great depth of feeling and eloquently expressed each turn of phrase, each note.  Great singers practice control and restraint.

Patsy was a strong woman who stood up to record execs and promoters – she demanded cash on the barrelhead, ‘no dough, no show’.  She had top billing and maintained control of her career when many women were considered secondary to the higher paid male stars, and were treated as such.
Patsy was the first woman in country music to perform at New York’s Carnegie Hall, and in 1962, she was also the first woman in country music to headline her own show in Vegas.

Patsy also has a stellium in the second house, the natural house of Taurus.  When Patsy was 13, she had a serious case of rheumatic fever (Mars) and she almost died (Pluto).  When she recovered, she discovered she had developed a booming voice. (Venus rules Taurus, the throat).

This 2nd house stellium is in opposition to Saturn in Capricorn (it rules, strong placement) in the 8th.  Patsy had perseverance in the face of death (8th house), that’s for sure. The focal planet of her T-Square is Uranus in Aries.  Uranus is Mars flavored, and Patsy was known to be very down to earth and ‘one of the guys’, fond of telling bawdy jokes and cutting up while downing a few at the bar.  Uranus rules the 11th house, so she was an outspoken maverick, a strong what you see is what you get  woman.

Uranus square to Saturn and square the 2nd house stellium with Pluto dovetailing between Mars and Venus and she was a powerhouse catalyst for all those in her circle, women and  men.  I mean not only her inner circle, but Cancer being Moon (public) ruled, her audience and the music industry as well.

As I mentioned above, the transits are for the time of Patsy’s 1961 car crash.  She was thrown through the windshield and again, nearly died.  The 3rd house is short distance travel, (accident happened in Nashville) and Mars (accidents) is coming to conjunct Uranus in the 3rd house.  North Node throws a beneficial influence over Mercury (rules travel) by conjunction.  Sun does as well by sextile.

Note also that a Saturn return indicates a new perspective on life, reaching a stage of growth and reflection, as well as karmic meetings.  The accident spurred Patsy to a renewed faith and brought her a karmic gift – she met Loretta Lynn. (click)
If you are wondering about the title – Patsy called her friends Hoss, men & women alike.

The Other Side of Time Freydoon Rassouli
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
All the Hemispheres
Leave the familiar for a while.
Let your senses and bodies stretch out
Like a welcomed season
Onto the meadows and shores and hills.
Open up to the Roof.
Make a new water-mark on your excitement
And love.
Like a blooming night flower,
Bestow your vital fragrance of happiness
And giving
Upon our intimate assembly.
Change rooms in your mind for a day.
All the hemispheres in existence
Lie beside an equator
In your heart.
Greet Yourself
In your thousand other forms
As you mount the hidden tide and travel
Back home.
All the hemispheres in heaven
Are sitting around a fire
Chatting
While stitching themselves together
Into the Great Circle inside of
You.
~Hafiz
Translated by Daniel Ladinsky ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Hafiz (1320-1391), born Shams-ud din Mahommed, was a Persian sufi poet. He studied poetry was in the Sufic Order of Dervishes and was an interpretive professor of the Koran.  He knew the Koran by heart – leading to his pen-name, Hafiz, or ‘one who remembers’.
His poetry was wild for his day – love and wine and enjoying life, he rejected Sunni law, causing him to be banned.  He was a free – thinking heretic, wildly popular in his lifetime.  When it came time to bury Hafiz – authorities questioned if it would be allowed on sacred ground.
By this time his poetry had become so famous that his works were used for divination.
(I mean really ~ how cool is that ?!)
The authorities consulted his work for the answer of burial.
Turn not away from the bier of Hafiz,
Steeped in sin, he will enter Paradise.
Hafiz was buried in the center of a cemetery in Shiraz.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Neptune rules memory as well as poetry, divination, and dance.
Could not find birth info ~  but Neptune, lots of Pisces and Neptune, yes..?

…words like waves…so lovely…
I needed this today.

Georgia on my mind

Pictured above is American artist Georgia O’Keefee in the New Mexico lands she loved.

I was thinking last night of how my brother was always dragging things in from the woods (I do the same) morels, feathers, skulls, interesting wood things, you name it.  My skulls and turtle shells (found, not killed !) would probably turn Feng Shui aficionados on their heads, but I love skulls and natural things.  I have strong Scorpio placements (rules death), and all the horned signs are active in my chart, so it makes sense to me.  (Cap rising, Moon in Toro, Saturn in Aries)  We are born to die, may as well accept it.

It reminded me of Georgia, who loved skulls and bones and painted them over and over in her red rock, blue sky landscapes.
I have been to Abiquiu, Taos, and much later, to her museum in Santa Fe.  I traveled the whole area because I wanted to see what she saw.  I wanted to see what she painted.  I stood on the sandy dry road in tiny Abiquiu and marveled at a wooden door set in an adobe wall.

It was her door, she painted it so many times, I knew it instantly.
~~~~~~~~~
Georgia, a Scorpio Sun, Moon, Mercury and Jupiter blazed a trail in the art world.  I love the depth with which she viewed the natural world around her.
Her eyes gave life to the universe within a flower.
~~~~~~~~~
Georgia also had Venus (art) conjunct Uranus (innovation) in Venus ruled Libra.  Venus in her chart is not only conjunct Uranus, but also trine a Neptune Pluto conjunction, that’s revolutionary artist without a doubt.

Neptune is in earthy Taurus (rendering the beauty found in earth), Pluto in Gemini.  She was not only mentally sharp and curious, but also incredibly versatile and a powerful communicator through her craft.  Pluto in Gemini (rules hands) indicates her beautiful, graceful hands – her photographer husband, Alfred Stieglitz photographed them many, many times.

It also indicates the enormous volume of correspondence (Mercury) via post between them.  They were often separated and negotiated (Pluto- power) terms of their relationship through the post.

~~~~~~~~~~
Alfred took the photo above.  He was older than Georgia by 23 years, and they greatly influenced each other.  Saturn not only indicates work, and where you are forced to achieve, but also an older person, a male figure (along with the Sun) in the natal chart.  Georgia has Saturn conjunct North Node of Destiny in Leo the sign of creativity.
Her Saturn is also trine Moon and Mercury in Scorpio.  She loved working in her garden (Moon and Saturn rule) and communicated (Mercury) her depth of feeling (Moon) through her artwork.   Georgia had Mars in Virgo sextile Scorpio Sun and Jupiter, again another aspect of depth.  Mars is powering Virgo analysis of what and how to express (Mercury) the power (Scorpio) within.
Virgos notice everything – keep their eyes on everything – as they sort it out.
Scorpios notice everything – hone in on one thing they desire – laser beam focus on that one thing.
~~~~~~~~~~
Here is some quick synastry between Georgia and Alfred:

conjunct = power operating
Georgia’s Moon, Mercury, Sun and Jupiter in Scorpio were conjunct his Venus, Jupiter and North Node of Destiny, also in Scorpio.
Georgia’s Uranus was conjunct Alfred’s Saturn in Libra.  (Uranus is the unexpected break, and Libra is relationships – when Alfred met Georgia, he took up with her, and divorced his wife.)
Georgia’s Venus is conjunct Alfred’s Moon.

trine=harmony
His Moon is trine her Neptune Pluto conjunction.
Georgia’s Saturn is trine Alfred’s Mars, and also trine his Neptune.
Alfred’s Neptune is trine Georgia’s Scorpio stellium.
Alfred’s Mercury is trine Georgia’s Neptune Pluto conjunction.

* Neptune rules film and Alfred took hundreds of photographic portraits of Georgia.

* Also worthy of note: Georgia has no squares (internal conflict), only oppositions (something someone else does).

Georgia’s Scorpio stellium is opposite her Neptune Pluto conjunction indicating not only the impact New Mexico (land of her inspiration- Saturn rules NM and the land) had on her life, but also the impact of her photographer husband, Alfred.
~~~~~~~~~~~~
Click here (& scroll down) for a lovely video that matches some of her paintings up with the landscapes near her home.
I will leave you with another of my favorites from the Jack-in-the-Pulpit series.
Morph
Fun Times !
Outer planet heavies in a tug-o-war and an eclipse to boot.
Mosh pit !
(go to Neptunes and click on the Marley show for instant good vibe infusion)
Oppositions are screaming what the hell is the other guy doing to me~
Squares are the thoughts ping-ponging in the brain saying what the hell am I doing to myself~
?
Transforming.  That’s what.
Eclipses mark energy shifts lasting over over several days or months– felt by you, me and everyone else twirling around on the planet…so keep smiling folks, be kind to your neighbors.  Keep it together.
Partial solar eclipse July 1st at 9 degrees Cancer; thrusting the house where it lives in your chart, and Capricorn its opposite into the spotlight of change.  Cancer is home, family roots, your haven / Capricorn is career, goals, status.  In my case Capricorn 1st/ Cancer 7th house, so my personal identity (1st) and relationships with others (7th) are getting the eclipse spotlight.
We are also under the outer planet heavy Pluto (power struggle) squaring both Saturn ( the brakes ) and Uranus ( the gas).
The eclipse point where both luminaries : Sun/ego – Moon/instinct are squaring both Uranus and Saturn.  Saturn is opposite Uranus.  This is the captain speaking; we are experiencing a little turbulence, no moving about the cabin, know your exits.   Other planets in your natal chart in geometric aspect get *pinged* and activated as well.  So if you are feeling a bit snippy, stressed or lacking sleep…it will pass.
Feeling it in your life..?  Formulate your best intentions for the coming increasing moon as it waxes to full.  Hang loose and let things happen organically…may be a good time to take a deep breath before any big decisions.
You can click on Astrodienst to get your chart, and find out where the eclipse falls for you, or contact me gneissmoon@rocketmail.com.   Happy Eclipsing !
*Edit : had stomach issues (nausea) night of eclipse, and read others with Cancer (rules stomach) on ASC/DC did as well.   How did you feel during the eclipse ?
