Midsummer Solstice – Longest Day of the Year
Summer Solstice falls at the precise moment when the Sun’s power reaches its zenith.

Summer Solstice is when the Sun reaches its highest point in the sky – appears to stop (stations) – then begins its journey back towards the equator to its lowest point in the sky, or Winter solstice.  Click here for movie.

Litha (the Saxon grain goddess, also Demeter or Ceres) is a festival of lighting fires and celebrating the peak of solar days – blossoms, fruits and vegetables are blooming, the Earth is pregnant with seeds sown at Beltane.

Litha is a time of honoring the Lord and the Lady: the Earth Mother Goddess who nourishes us with her rich bountiful fruits, and the Sun Father God – the triumph of thriving light.

Fires lit at this time are especially magical for empowerment, prosperity and protection.  Light two candles – celebrate sacrifice and renewal – the interconnection between light and dark.  This is a time for willpower – use the Sun’s powerful light, the spiritual fire of hope – to be insightful and initiate creative positive changes.

Light one candle to honor the passing of the waxing sun, and one to honor the coming of the waning sun.  Take this time to celebrate families, children and the balance between work and play – absorb the midsummer sunshine into your heart.

Investigations on Chiron stationing Rx in Pisces, and I pulled William Lilly, prominent astrologer best known for his published work Christian Astrology, published in 1647.

Eastern direction (Pisces) denotes a need to fine tune & attune attention to every aspect of life, especially health – mental, emotional, physical and spiritual.  Wholistic attention turned inward to perceive self.  Retrogrades are individual, purely built for personal recalibration and tweaking the position / space you hold in the universe.

How do you choose to express Chiron ?
If there are wellness issues in life you have let slide, they will become apparent under this transit !  Lilly read the signs – you should as well.

Contemplating the Yin/Yin of Pluto in Capricorn as focal point, I drew a card to hone in on the energies.
Norse warrior goddess Freya popped up, which is ironic since I was just chatting cats with the creator of the Dothraki language.  Uranus BOLTs at work !

As an aside – look to Saturn and its aspects in your natal to see what Uranus and its aspects are Breaking You Free Of – very enlightening !

Ok, on to Freya, Norse goddess of the Vanir (nature deities).

Fascinating draw as fixed Uranus tries to control nature – this square to Pluto in Capricorn is delivering education re: USE/misuse/abuse of GMO’s, pollinators/bees, nuclear waste, poisons, etc… in spades with these Uranus Pluto squares.

Freya is asteroid 76, she can currently be found at 11 degrees Cancer – the sign of the Great Mother.  WoW.  Very cool.

She opposes 12 degree Pluto Rx in Capricorn, signaling a juggling of energies – between metamorphic renovation of old school ideology on Earth (Capricorn) and shared passion for protecting beauty and harmony via fair and loving partnership.

Freya squares Mars Libra – actions being taken in honor of partnerships, contracts and bonds leading to responsible active stewardship of our Mother, Gaia.

Freya squares Uranus at 16 Aries (which opposes Mars) – demanding intelligent methods of moving forward that also nurture that which is precious – LIFE.

Love is POWER made beautiful.

Freya appears on The Lovers card, signaling choice.
She choose the fallen ones who would be received in Valhalla at the table of Odin.

Focus on Mars opposite Uranus, which I have been feeling for days.
Always good to get a jump on the vibrations on the dance floor, eh ?

The card above symbolizes yang/masculine, raw fire energy, initiation and conception.  All very Mars and Uranus – power outgoing !
New vitality coupled with curiosity and enthusiasm – the urge to succeed, willpower meets expressing yourself with originality and flair.
Possibilities of being blunt, rash, bulldozing your agenda, overzealous.

Mars is power, aggravation, men in peace talks with Uranus the rebel who shows up unexpected from the blind side – be cautious – both of others & yourself.  This is a genius creative aspect if the energies work together rather than clash.  <– You got Mars in Libra talkin’ there, yeah ?

Feeling quite a bit of pain today from a ton of yard work yesterday.  Understandable since Mars aggravates, rules sharp pains and is opposite Uranus which rules pain spasms.

I drew a quick card for current aspects, got bone collector.  Apt as Capricorn rules bones & Pluto is doing the metamorphose mambo in that house – and under a difficult T-Square with two very powerful planets.

My pain is located in my left knee (past/Capricorn) and right ankle
(future/Uranus).  Obviously, I am having trouble finding balance between the two.  Working on it…

On to The Bone Collector…
She is a great image, yes ?  Friendly and radiant in the desert of aged Capricorn – a wise sage who is both learned, quick & perceptive.
This card reminds us to break away from past conditioning, former wounds (Chiron Rx soon) and unlearn bad habits.

The truth is you are a powerful being with unlimited possibilities.

Be aware & work this in your favor.

For two years, Professor Hynek Burda of the University of Duisburg-Essen in Germany studied the hunting behavior of eighty-four wild red foxes.  He discovered that the foxes have a higher success rate catching prey when their heads are oriented north.

He suggests that the fox tweaks its head position, using ear canals to ‘estimate the distance of its prey by moving forward until the sound source is in a fixed relationship to the magnetic field’.  Directional preference biology here.

Hunting was observed in different seasons, habitats, times of day and vegetation. Of 592 jumps observed, 72.5 percent of successful attacks were made when the foxes aligned themselves about 20 degrees off from magnetic north.  Attacks from other directions were mostly unsuccessful.

The study adds that grazing and resting cattle and deer prefer to orient their body axes in north – south direction.  This may be to provide constant directional reference, which helps to quickly synchronize movement of individuals in herds when danger strikes.

Fascinating ! 
I am a 9th house Virgo Sun/Uranus/Pluto, intrigued by polarities, solar magnetics, earth energies such as the Taos Hum etc..  Investigation of this natural directional preference phenomena is ongoing with me.

North is ruled by Cancer; South by Capricorn
Foxes are ruled by Mercury; Magnetics by Uranus
Mercury / Uranus are lower / higher octaves of one another, respectively.

I am Capricorn rising with Mercury at MC, Mars rising in Sagittarius quintile Uranus.  I have a great sense of direction, rarely get lost, naturally, inexplicably, ‘know’ where magnetic north is.
A friend of mine with Capricorn Moon opposite Cancer Mercury in poor aspect in the 11th has a terrible sense of direction, can’t even give directions to get to her house from work.  Curious quirk when viewed through the lens of astrology, yes ?

From the first time I did reiki I chose / knew to orient myself North – South, with North at my back.  In my natal chart, Moon is (exalted) in Taurus in the North(west) quadrant acting as a fulcrum – opposite biggie Neptune in 11 & trine (Sun/Uranus) Pluto in 9.
Perhaps this is why I intuitively chose it as a position of starting strength. 

I have read many differing opinions regarding which direction to sit for heightened meditation, which direction provides more restful sleep, but I still choose North-South because it feels right to me.

Honestly this Uranus Pluto square will be the end of me, and I (Sun) knew that going in.  Two more left of seven exacts.  The hammer and the forge.

An oracle card I recently pulled so vividly demonstrates the current astro, (Saturn opposite Venus – as well as my own Saturn opposite natal Moon transit), I share it here.  Indeed, this card reveals much of Mars opposite Uranus both square Pluto in Capricorn as well.

The burden of the past, a time of tremendous negativity (Saturn) which contains within it the seeds for major enlightenment.  Powerful initiation into the true nature of reality, being brought face-to-face with the darker aspects of your personality as it is.
Every aspect of your life placed on the anvil.

Negativity, resistance, limitations are tests.
Know that allies are alive and kicking in both ignorance and arrogance.

Chiron Retrograde while in trine to Saturn Rx in Scorpio and quincunx Uranus in Aries is two-eyed.  
Perhaps 3 if you get my drift.

One EYE towards the future – moving forward, reinvention.
One EYE towards the past – recycling, regenerating what already is.
Third EYE encompasses ALL that IS + ALL that WAS into = ONE.

Third eye is the chakra of SEEING, vision and insight.  It is the double petaled lotus that symbolizes resolution of duality.  
Healing the wound.
Pisces is the sign of cosmic debt, spirituality and secret sacrifices – it is also the sign of resilience, adaptation and emotional improvisation.  Pisces taps untold power straight from THE SOURCE, get grounded via the feet and life force flows.

Chiron shifting in quincunx to Uranus signals a need to be inventive in order to overcome personal beliefs that may be holding us back from healing.  Reset the break, re-apply remedies.  Future unfolds day to day, time passes slowly for those who wait – I get it.

Chiron squares houses of THINK and SEE, opposes the DAILY GRIND. Communications may be difficult, strained, thinking too wrapped up in emotions, minutiae.  Pause, breathe, re-boot.
