Gentle Soul

I saw a fawn today !
The first time in 16 years driving the same route I have seen a fawn near the park on my way home.  White tail was twitching while fawn happily munched away in the warmth of the evening sun . . .

I knew right away a kind gentle soul is on the way.  Fawn was on my right, and I saw a hawk ( hawk is usually a message from my brother) coming in for a landing on my right this morning !  Fawn totem calls us home to the green forest magick of faerie and fey – they remind us of the natural peaceful rhythms of the wheel of life.

They are gentle souls with dark peaceful eyes, they are filled with grace and compassion.  They are harbingers of peace, love and a return to innocence.  Deer are quiet – yet alert – always listening, they see clearly through the shadows of twilight, they bridge two worlds.  Fawn and deer symbolize the world of twilight and shadow (deer are most active at daybreak and dusk).

Deer are symbolic of the graceful balance between the conscious and unconscious self, they are carriers of natural magick, play and unconditional love.  Deer totem binds two worlds with a thread of love, sensitivity and gentleness.

quicksand

Praying mantis on grape tomatoes, I took the pic. All living growing things in my garden.
Praying mantis brings messages of stillness, patience, balance and intuition.  Contemplation before action. 

This has been a week of totem animals. 
Iridescent wasp delivered construction communication and progress. 
Elephant ( an animal intuitive saw one near me ) brings strength and patience.
Late one evening on a gas n sip ice cream run, I nearly ran over a skunk.
Skunk is a pacifist, while still strongly protected and effective.

It is hotter than bejeebus here, over 100, feels like a zillion.
Most of the US is in drought.  Poor kitties in fur coats are miserable.
I am going to lay down in the cool basement and watch zombie flicks.

First a mantis picspam.
They are so interesting and alien like, yes ?
Pluto ruled.  Predatory.

I am calling this Uranus Rx on my natal Saturn Rx (chart ruler)
the quicksand transit.
Merc Rx (my natal MC) feels same.

May as well just hang tough, right ?!

Sir Ian Murray McKellen, CH, CBE *  is an English actor. He has won multiple Laurence Olivier Awards, a Tony Award, two Academy Award nominations, and five Emmy Award nominations. His work has spanned genres from Shakespearean and modern theatre to popular fantasy and science fiction. He is known for film roles such as Gandalf in the Lord of the Rings  film trilogy, Magneto in the X-Men  films, and as Sir Leigh Teabing in The Da Vinci Code.

I will start by saying Sir Ian is so sweet and kind, with a Gemini twinkle in his eye, quite a lovely flirt, really.  He’s fabulous — so fabulous I named my singing toad after him.  Yes, I knighted my toad !  Sir Toadie was recorded in one of the most acoustically perfect halls in the country. true story.  I knew when eclipse toad showed up good things were coming … Sir Ian is a May 25th Gemini, so I am writing & posting tonight – he is in the future in New Zealand and I want this up for his solar return YaY !

Ian is a Gemini Sun, Virgo Moon, Sagittarius rising, making Jupiter his chart ruler.
  Aries Jupiter (is Mars powered) is in the 3rd (communication) house trine 29 degree (culmination degree) Pluto in Cancer, 8th house. Pluto (inner energy, transformative experiences) rules the 8th, is strong, yet fluctuating (Moon ruled house, opposite Mars).

Gemini Sun trines Mars in Aquarius, making Ian a revolutionary (Aquarius) communicator through art and film (Mars trine Neptune at mid-heaven).

Pluto and Mars (Mars is most highly aspected, strong) both square Venus in Taurus, and are opposite each other, which forms a T-Square with Venus as the focal planet.  Venus, the planet of art, love and money is strong in Taurus, the sign it rules.  Venus as focal planet, means it will be forced to metamorph the very powerful energies of Mars and Pluto into artwork, beauty and works of love.

Pluto points to a strong desire nature with opposition to Mars (outward bound energies) in Aquarius, as well as the square (inner tension) to Venus in possessive Taurus.  Pluto in the last degree of Moon-ruled Cancer is a nod to the metamorphic effect Ian has on the public (Moon rules public), through his natural ability to teach and lead by example (Virgo 9th house) through the arts (Neptune [rules film, inspired art] at mid-heaven) and film.

I find it interesting that outward bound Mars is in a sign of polarities (Aquarius), Plutonian inner power is fluctuating in Cancer, and Ian has Mercury (dual perceptions) conjunct Uranus (polarities, magnetics) in artistic Taurus.  Ian is very adept at seeing both sides of any given situation.  He uses this instinctual observation, this intuitive sense (Taurus rules the senses) of dualities to in turn enrich his portrayal of character.

the whistle pig

A groundhog crossed my path on my way home today…

Just before I began, finally – at long last, to dig my garden …. !
Spirit message incoming ~

Groundhog medicine is getting in tune with the earth, alleyways to the subconscious and insight into the workings and pathways of the underworld.

Groundhog represents being open to the paths of dreamtime explorations and altered states of consciousness.  This is often the totem of shamans and mystics.

Lessons regarding death & rebirth, entering into the subconscious underworld without harm, as well as boundary controls are delivered by groundhog.  (They hibernate below the freeze line in a special ‘winter dugout’.)

Groundhog also brings choice and inventive problem-solving for their burrows usually have two to five entrances.  Gemini anyone .. ?  Witty ways out !

A quickie bit about transits before work.
Last night tanked – metaphorically and literally.  let me explain…

Mercury and Uranus are coming to conjunct my ruler, Saturn Rx in Aries in the 3rd house.  My Saturn Rx trines my Sagittarius Mars.  Sag rules my 12th house – the house which rules oil. Third house is short distance travel or commuting. Mercury is travel, ruler of Gemini, which lives on the 3rd in the natural chart.
Uranus is the wildcard of the zodiac.

Before work day closed, I realized a good girl friend was hurt by my idiotic spaciness over vacation. (Moon was also transiting 3rd, Moon rules women)  Then I left work bought a lawn mower headed home only to realize I was running out of gas.  Black Beauty (my truck, and yes with Merc at MC, I name things) started sputtering and I knew I wouldn’t make it off the clover leaf.

So I started calling friends, wondering who would be around to answer…?
Saturn !  That’s who.  My boss came to my rescue, still in his suit.
What a sweetheart, yeah ?!

So while I am sitting there waiting a red-winged blackbird comes up to a reflector sign and started pointedly tweeting at me.  aside: I am an old-school tweet, not a new school twitterer, lol.  My giant Neptuner square 8 outweighs any Sun Uranus Pluto need to tweet personal bits 24/7.  So anyway, bird was pointedly looking right at me – you are out of place lady – tweet.breeeee.!  I have mentioned before they are my favorite calling birds, so I was pleased he showed up to spend time with me while I waited for rescue.  So below is blackbird totem…
