dragon’s head

Ammonites are fossils, previous homes to cephalopods that lived in the seas between 240 – 65 million years ago.
The name originates from the Greek Ram-horned god called Ammon.

In the Middle Ages they were called ‘dragon’s heads’ and worn for protection.  The Blackfoot tribe also wore them to ward off evil spirits as ‘buffalo stones’.

Ammonite is a powerful re-birthing stone; it represents the sacred geometry of the golden mean and the cyclical nature of life.
It is excellent for centering, and relaxation through calming the breath, and pulse.  It can awaken the kundalini and foster harmonious energy flow throughout the body.


If you are very Earthy, or just simply a lover of stones, you may like to find a pocket totem to carry as a reminder to vibrate high energies during the Uranus oppositions to Sun, Mercury and Venus.
Venus is also conjunct Saturn.  Pluto is squaring the above, and Uranus too.

There is energy pushing and pulling in the sky in many earth signs.
…so I am making friends with the Earth energies via ammonite…

Capricorn rules Saturn, Saturn rules rocks , they are made with pressure over eons of time ~ very Plutonic.
Saturn is my chart ruler, both luminaries are in Earth, so I dig rocks. 

They help me focus my energies and practice patience, with myself and others.

marsupial mambo

I saw an opossum chowing down on the kitty kibble last night.  
She turned around   v  e  r  y     s   l  o   w   l   y
…I am not the possum you are looking for… 

Dramatic entrance for Mars into Leo ~  Opossum is an actor ! 
Opossom plays dead, invisible, she picks her battles, or most often uses diversionary tactics.

Opossom totem teaches mental and emotional stability.

Opossom uses intuition and brains before brawn.
She is nocturnal and keeps things close to the vest, being the only North American marsupial.

Opossom makes me break out in song !

fly anyway

Great sunny day here, pretty windy (Uranus rules wind gusts) – spidey from a few posts back was hanging on tight to what was left of her battered zig-zag web.

Have I mentioned Virgos like critters ?  Virgo rules pets, and I have had all kinds, fish, gerbils, toads, frogs, geckos, dogs, cats even a fly once when I was little (and no, I don’t know why, and yes, I let him go).

I took a few pics of my nearly full-blooming clematis for my Aussie friend, Mo.  It attracts a ton of critters and bugs…
This pic turned out pretty well considering this bumblebee stopped at nearly every single flower and was hard to follow.
Bee was busy, definitely busy.    (Mercury rules bees, Venus the nectar)


I looked into bumblebee flight (of course, Uranus rules flight) and found out its left and right wings flap independently, making for a bumpy ride because the airflow created isn’t as streamlined as other bugs.

They fly in a sea of vortices surrounded by tiny eddies and whirlwinds that are created when they move their wings.

Bumbles buzz is created by the wing vibration in their flight.  (Uranus rules vibration and flight)

They have “adopted a brute force approach powered by a huge thorax and fuelled by energy-rich nectar.  The bumblebee is like a tanker-truck, its job is to transport nectar and pollen back to the hive.  Efficiency is unlikely to be important for that way of life.”

Ok.  So bees are Virgo and Mercury ruled (of course) because they harvest, gather and sort for oncoming winter.
But…seeing as how bumble flight is inefficient (soOo not Virgo), and rather turbo-charged (very, very Mars), I’m going with bumblebees being ruled by Mars and Mercury.  What do you think..?

Either way, bumble doesn’t care, bumble flies anyway !
(Now that is Uranian !)

…maybe I’ll re-name all my bumbles Herschel…seems like a good bumble name…dontcha think…?…

zig zag moon

I went all Virgo persnickety on my yard today – mowed, and yanked a ton of weeds so this dark Virgo moon I can rest easy knowing my inside and outside chores are done.  A happy Virgo is a Virgo with work completed (Virgo is the sign of work and service).
The cool thing is what stopped me dead in my tracks ! 
I brake ( break ! ) for critters.
I just had to get a pic of this most beautiful, groovy (Saturn-ruled) spider and her web.

How appropriate my new spider friend is a Nephila, or ‘fond of spinning’, as I have been having a weird spun-out, emotional weekend.   Transiting Jupiter is nearly conjunct my natal 4th house Moon/Neptune opposition my emotional geiger counter is c-c-clicking !
I need a distraction, so here are some pics (Neptune) from my home (4th house) !

Golden silk orb-weavers  are sometimes referred to as writing spiders due to occasional zigzag patterns called stabilimenta  (web decorations) built into their webs.  There are many theories as to why the spiders spin such patterns, such as they make shiny UV attractors, excess silk, but the coolest theory is because they like the patterns, it is their spider art.  How cool is that ?!

I’m going with aesthetics, because I once saw a large web with a teeny-weenie miniature web (just like the big one) in the far upper right corner of the web.  I often wondered if it was a practice web, wall art or maybe a guest bed…who knows..?!  I keep an eye out just in case I see another someday.

If my theory is true, it would mean spiders are not only Saturn-ruled, but also Venus (art) ruled.  This particular spider often kills her mate, so better toss in some Mars and Pluto as well.

I looked up spider totem, and it is spot-on because I wasn’t even going to post this evening….and just as I waited for the page to load, I glanced at the clock- 11:11 !   (manifestation time)
So groOovy…let’s all see the web of life during the dark Virgo Moon !

Spider helps understanding of illusions and reality, spiritual and physical balance, awakens sensibilities and weaves influences in development in your own world, stay focused on the center of things.  Spider is gentleness and strength and will remind you of this pattern. She also will aid in communications and the written word.

Transcendent Neptune (seas) sextile (opportunity) Pluto (turning point), unpredictable Uranus (strong winds of change) in square (restless energy) to Pluto (rebirth) which is in a grand Earth trine.

North node of destiny is quintile the Chiron Neptune conjunction from Sagittarius the sign of understanding.  Neptune is in the powerful ( fully saturated) last degree of Aquarius (humanity at large), and Chiron is the wounded healer, herbalist, the teacher.

Transpersonal message from the sentient Earth to all earthkind…?

Pluto (turning point) is in Capricorn (Earth), Saturn (responsibilities) is in Libra (seeks balance) an Air sign (communication).  The Moon is waning to dark (a sign of introspection), duty-bound Virgo Sun (conscious awareness, life) is conjunct Venus (love and harmony-rules Libra and relationships).  
Venus is also trine (co-operation) Jupiter (hope) in patient, practical Taurus, the sign it rules.
Mercury goes direct in Leo the sign of expressing the heart in the sign opposite of futuristic, visionary Aquarius, and we have a message from our Mother…

Gaia breathes

Odd that after my ‘breathing‘ post the other day, I was wondering why I didn’t think of including info about how the Earth breathes….then the US gets earthquakes.  She has been breathing for millions of years; very slowly, and at a lower vibration than humans, but breathing nonetheless.

See Pangea at left for a visual of how the continents looked millions of years ago, before plate tectonics moved the earth by the addition of new ground rising up, and older pushing below.

From Aug 22-24, several earthquakes hit regions where they do not normally occur.  Several small pre-cursor quakes out in Cali– nothing new there, they take their juice shaken most days anyway–then a 5.3 near the Colorado/New Mexico border, a few small ones near the New Madrid fault, then soon after a 5.8 in Virginia.

I have been reading Dogs That Know When Their Owners Are Coming Home by Rupert Sheldrake. In his book, he mentions earthquake prediction via animal behavior, also known as Etho-Geological Forecasting.

Chart for the time of quake indicates chart ruler, Pluto (earth shifts) in Capricorn (material world), in square to Uranus (vibrations,quakes) in the 4th house of home and property, in square to Mars (energy) which is in opposition to Pluto.  Mars (activity) square Saturn (bedrock, Earth), which is also square Pluto.  Be aware these aspects are in cardinal signs (crisis, activity, action).

There is also a grand Earth trine involving Jupiter (expansion), Venus (sensations) and Sun (government buildings) with metamorphic Pluto.

cosmic omphalomancy

The spider web relates to the creation of the web of life; the interconnectedness and inter-dependence of all things.

Plato had a dream of great goddess Ananke, “Necessity,” spinning the universe; the sun, moon, and planets were her spindle’s whorls; sirens sang through the webs of time and fate that she wove, and souls endlessly moved through the strands on their way to and from death and rebirth.

The Axis Mundi, or The Lesser Heavenly Cycle, and Axis Coeli, or The Microcosmic Orbit, are ubiquitous symbols that represent cycles of energy of rebirth and restoration and that cross diverse human cultures.  They have also been referred to as the cosmic axis, world axis, world pillar, columna cerului, and center of the world.

I made a joke about my navel being my 4th eye once, then I read this today…

Communication from lower realms may ascend to higher ones and blessings from higher realms may descend to lower ones and be disseminated to all. Omphalomancy is the art of fortune telling by navel gazing~>

1) The Horizontal Navel. This belly button is oblong in shape and spreads
sideways across the tummy. People with horizontal navels are complex and highly
