Sir Hobbit

Sir Peter Jackson
I was thrilled to hear Peter was back on board  and going to direct The Hobbit  thrilled

During casting updates, my ex and I were in a texting frenzy – I was soOo happy to hear Martin was cast as Bilbo !  We saw the traveling exhibit when it came through our area – Weta Workshop the craftsmanship is stunning, I was positively drooling at the leather work, blades, armour, Eomer’s helmet, costumes etc…

Peter is obviously a brilliant filmmaker with tons of credits, awards and he managed to get a TRILOGY of films made when who the heck ever heard of financial backing for that kind of monster project ?

I amar prestar aen, han mathon ne nen, han mathon ne chae a han noston ned ‘wilith.

I woke out of a sound sleep with the feeling something was up.  I checked the sidebar links for earthquakes, flares, etc.  I just felt something.  Then I knew, checked.
Saturn is exactly exact on MC.
Moon and Jupiter are conjunct on my natal Hephaestus.

J.R.R. Tolkien has Hephaestus conjunct Pluto
in Gemini – both are at 7 degrees.
WoW

It is time.  Time for The Hobbit.
I drew a fortune for the occasion
::: Silence is golden when used at the right time :::

What better fortune could I draw for one of the greatest directors of all time ?

Peter has Saturn (time, work, silence, building, concentration) in Capricorn (Saturn rules) conjunct 29 degree Jupiter (culmination degree, visionary teaching – rules the ninth house) and Part of Fortune at Midheaven in the 9th house of philosophy.

Building Monumental Visionary Work

Right off the bat I see Peter’s life work revolves around teaching / communicating (9th house) the importance of bonds of fellowship (Saturn conjunct Jupiter) and building strong working (6th house) relationships (7th house) between a family (4th house) of friends.  And making kick-ass films, lol.  Sun (where his heart shines) is conjunct Neptune (film) and Mars (action – adventure).

Peter is a Master Builder Number 22. (higher octave of 4)   It indicates practical  genius coupled with heightened sensitivity, intuition and psychic awareness, as well as service to middle earthkind.  (Twenty-two is an esoteric number: 22 Major Arcana, 22 letters in Hebrew alphabet, 22 paths of the Sephiroth)

Peter is a Scorpio Sun, Leo Moon with Taurus rising.

Scorpio Sun in 7th is extremely artistically (natural house of Libra) observant, aware of balance at all times.  Peter’s Sun is the focal point of a T-square, with Sun square Moon in 3rd, Jupiter in 9th.  Conceptualizing, writing, filming and directing the audio / visual document of a world-renowned and much loved series of books into a massive trilogy of films is a serious creative undertaking.  Clear – cut (Mars) powers of perception are needed.

Mercury (books) conjunct Venus (money, creativity) in Libra (balance, Venus rules) is great for weighing the options between artistic integrity to the piece and the realities of a studio budget.  Saturn in Capricorn works hard – when conjunct Jupiter it works hard to manifest the vision imagined. (visionary Jupiter / Saturn opposite Moon, imagination)

Taurus ASC means Venus is the chart ruler, so obviously very creative, hard- working  (Saturn elevated) and patient through what is certainly a long arduous process.  Aquarius on Midheaven represents the extraordinary innovative work / vision of filming a trilogy length film over 274 (principal photography) days from October 1999 through to December 2000 (pick-ups from 2001 to 2004).

Moon in Leo is imaginative, playful and very creative from the heart.  These movies work because he makes us feel the plight of middle earthkindwe care what happens to the Fellowship.  We even feel for Smeagol / Gollum who has been twisted beyond recognition by the obsessive (Scorpio) addiction (Neptune) to the evil ring (low Venus), Precioussss.   Peter gets obsession – his work is obviously his – with Jupiter conjunct Saturn elevated and Pluto in Virgo sextile Scorpio Sun.  Yeah, he gets it.

Peter has a chart full of internal tension (squares) with hard core work ethic elevated.
His one opposition – MOON – the public.  What will we think of it, how will we feel about his creations (Leo) ?  He needs to flex his creative muscles while remaining true to the original work, while also giving the public the goods.

That’s a tough spot for him, as well as the fact that he simply cannot overextend himself at work.  Moon fluctuates and in the dual house of Gemini (3rd) in Leo (rules the heart) Peter is very capable of juggling many things and doing it well – yet opposition to Saturn (the physical body) means finding balance, my friend.  Take care of yourself – we will wait for them and for you. x

We will always fall back on those sextiles and trines – quintiles feel more like ala surprise gifties from the universe – but those sextiles and trines will be working overtime to decrease the internal tension from the squares.

Peter has some whammy sextiles on his side, for sure.  Sun sextiles Pluto – this is not only artistic transformation and doing things over, and doing them better – it is also this primal rebirthing energy that can be tapped from the house of Virgo.  Makes me think ‘the devil is in the details’ aspect, creativity wise, but it also means the will power is incredibly strong for doing great service to the artwork itself.   Sun and Moon in T-square with work, elevated – he thinks about the creative work day and night.

These films (King Kong, too: loved it !) are HIS LIFE.  These films are embedded in the public psyche forever – the bonds of fellowship, friendship, loyalty, faith and fighting evil side by side.  Amazing – truly, amazing contribution to the world of film, thank you.

Uranus is in the culmination degree of Leo testifying to unusual creative genius, conjunct North Node of Destiny is very favorable for making a creative mark on the world. (Moon, also in Leo, is the public).  North Node of Destiny in 4th (home) is also significant by Peter’s choice to stay in New Zealand for all filming.

Peter’s Chiron in 10 trines Sun, Mercury and Neptune in the 7th; Peter’s Libra Mercury, Venus trine the Midheaven.  His Neptune quintiles Jupiter and Saturn elevated, and Fortuna is elevated as well.  That is very beneficial for a creative career to have so many trines from Venus energy pinging off the Midheaven in harmony.

Neptune quintiles Uranus and Saturn – specialized talent for innovative work on film.

I absolutely love this : the indigenous New Zealand people, or Maori, came to bless (Jupiter) the production’s soundstages before principal photography (Saturn / Neptune) began.  Respect.

Kwentra lye i’narn Elear
Perfect 10, Peter !

the breaking

It took me forever to write about the 6/12th houses for good reason.  Neptune is a big player in my chart.  It is not easy to admit I feel and likely inflict the pain, surrender and sorrow of the 12th.  Twelfth house Neptunian energy silently emerges and recedes, it is seductive and filled with illusions and dreams.  It is a part of me I have to accept.

Not suitable for realistic Saturnian audiences.  Most excellent movie material though. Aeons of heARTwork across herstory is testament to pain and suffering brought to life and transformed by the creative urge to manifest human desires.  One way or another desire will find a way to spill, stream and rush itself onto the material plane.

Is creative genius always the product of profound suffering . . .?

My Neptune lives in Aqua 11 and I don’t  KNOW.
Neptune shrouds the answer from me.
:::::::::::

Neptune in Aquarius had all the romance of an electric eel winding around my heart.  I haven’t looked up PTSD symptoms, not yet.  Pretty sure I’ve got them, and I’m not ready to know just now.   Part and parcel of living with Sun/Ura/Pluto.

I am drowning in deep waters, in the mineshaft of my 8th house. Neptune surrounds me again by opposing my late Leo Venus/Jupes by transit, while natal Neptune squares them.  This Neptune Rx is the last clearing out of the dross of the painful Aqua years, I am surrendering to the feelings of loss, grieving . . . and releasing it.

Progressed: Uranus is rightontop of my Venus with Pluto on standby – the whole mess opposes prog Saturn Rx (my natal ruler).
Transit Uranus is applying to conjunct prog Saturn by transit.

I don’t have anything witty, humorous or genius to share, right now I feel empty.
Just another turn of the wheel, it will pass, like all transits do. . .

SoOo . . . I am Virgoing out, canning tomatoes, keeping busy, I will sing Peter Jackson’s praises later this Labor Day weekend, I don’t know when.

I am metamorphing just like everyone else, and it’s painful, just like I knew it would be.
Still I keep the faith.

Rhiannon

Jan Hess

The Great Queen Rhiannon, is a Welsh Moon goddess whose name derives from two Welsh words: rhiain : meaning sleeping maiden and Annwn : the name of the Welsh Otherworld.  She is found in the medieval Welsh tales of Mabinogion, riding a swift white stallion.

Defying her parents wishes to marry an older god she did not love, she instead chose to marry the man she loved, a mortal, Prince Pwyll.  Rhiannon gave birth to a son who disappeared under the watch of six women servants chosen to tend him while Rhiannon  regained her strength after childbirth.

While all her hand servants slept, her son was taken.  Upon awakening, the terrified servants fearing for their lives, smeared blood on Rhiannon’s cheeks and claimed she  killed her son.  As punishment, Rhiannon was bade to serve seven years as a ‘horse’ posted at Pwyll’s castle gate, bearing all visitors to the castle on her back.

After serving four long years without complaint, Rhiannon was overjoyed when a farmer and his wife arrived at the gate with Rhiannon’s son in tow.  Having found him abandoned, they had lovingly raised him as their own until seeing the growing boys resemblance to his parents, they returned him at once to his mother.

:::::::::::::::::::::::::::::

Rhiannon, asteroid 16912, is closely linked with inspiration, dreams / nightmares, change, being steadfast in crisis, magick, horses (sacred to the Celts) and mystical birds.  The singing birds of Rhiannon were said to ‘wake the dead, and ease the living to sleep’. (see Welsh tales link above)

She also indicates strong emotions (Moon), lost loved ones and forgiveness (Neptune), life essence and powers that thrive within the depths of wellsprings and lakes.

Also consider Rhiannon a place where you regain what you have lost.

Rhiannon’s story is said to have grown into the legend of the Lady of the Lake, the water spirit who was foster mother to Sir Lancelot and presented King Arthur with the magickal sword Excalibur.  It was commonplace for Celts to offer gifts to water spirits, especially valuables and weapons, a tradition that continues today in the form of wishing wells.  Lady of the Lake is synonymous with Lady Luck.

::::::::::::::::::::::::::::

In typical Mars quintile Uranus fashion, I stumbled upon this while looking for something else, much to my delight – because I recently dreamed so vividly of a swift white horse.  When I say swift, I mean superfast – full tilt at least 80, when quarterhorses  clock 50 tops.   A wild blur of white against the dark night sky, his intent, his eyes were following me so closely . . .  when he turned to race back towards me, I saw a large gash on his flank.  I was undone – really upset, begging my companions to help us.
. . . I was thinking and feeling in terms of US . . .  hmmm . . . fascinating.

Particularly fascinating as I have Rhiannon exactly conjunct Jupiter which rules horses.

I haven’t remembered any dreams for quite some time, they were too upsetting, I asked for them to remain quiet.  Well, I am back in the saddle now – online in the stream of unconsciousness, I am dreaming of moose, white stallions, dimensional space and time travellers, I’m getting messages for friends across the world I have not met in waking life, all kinds of far out stuff.

If you are wondering where I have been – I am getting so much incoming, I am in heavy duty process mode 24/7.  This Venus Uran/ Pluto thinger is binging all my bells and whistles since they are jammed together in my progressed – it’s a wild ride baby ! !

X-Rays = high voltage electricity passed through a vacuum tube; through resisting substances which causes efflorescence.

Good Knight

May I introduce Sir Ian McKellen.

Sir Ian Murray McKellen, CH, CBE *  is an English actor. He has won multiple Laurence Olivier Awards, a Tony Award, two Academy Award nominations, and five Emmy Award nominations. His work has spanned genres from Shakespearean and modern theatre to popular fantasy and science fiction. He is known for film roles such as Gandalf in the Lord of the Rings  film trilogy, Magneto in the X-Men  films, and as Sir Leigh Teabing in The Da Vinci Code.

McKellen was made a * Commander of the Order of the British Empire in 1979, was knighted in 1991 for services to the performing arts,and was made a * Companion of Honour for services to drama and to equality, in the 2008 New Year Honours. (wiki)
~~~~~~~~~~~~
I will start by saying Sir Ian is so sweet and kind, with a Gemini twinkle in his eye, quite a lovely flirt, really.  He’s fabulous — so fabulous I named my singing toad after him.  Yes, I knighted my toad !  Sir Toadie was recorded in one of the most acoustically perfect halls in the country. true story.  I knew when eclipse toad showed up good things were coming … Sir Ian is a May 25th Gemini, so I am writing & posting tonight – he is in the future in New Zealand and I want this up for his solar return YaY !
Gandalf and  Magneto and a Knight
Seriously !
How cool is That ?!
* Happy Birthday Sir Ian ! *
Look how cool !
Precisely when he meant to..!
When times grew desperate, Gandalf contacted Gwaihir, Lord of the Eagles, by means of a small moth. It was Radagast the Brown who told the eagles that Gandalf had visited with Saruman in the books; in the movie, Gandalf is seen speaking with the moth.  (LotR wiki)
Ian is a Gemini Sun, Virgo Moon, Sagittarius rising, making Jupiter his chart ruler.
  Aries Jupiter (is Mars powered) is in the 3rd (communication) house trine 29 degree (culmination degree) Pluto in Cancer, 8th house. Pluto (inner energy, transformative experiences) rules the 8th, is strong, yet fluctuating (Moon ruled house, opposite Mars).
Gemini Sun trines Mars in Aquarius, making Ian a revolutionary (Aquarius) communicator through art and film (Mars trine Neptune at mid-heaven).
Pluto and Mars (Mars is most highly aspected, strong) both square Venus in Taurus, and are opposite each other, which forms a T-Square with Venus as the focal planet.  Venus, the planet of art, love and money is strong in Taurus, the sign it rules.  Venus as focal planet, means it will be forced to metamorph the very powerful energies of Mars and Pluto into artwork, beauty and works of love.
Pluto points to a strong desire nature with opposition to Mars (outward bound energies) in Aquarius, as well as the square (inner tension) to Venus in possessive Taurus.  Pluto in the last degree of Moon-ruled Cancer is a nod to the metamorphic effect Ian has on the public (Moon rules public), through his natural ability to teach and lead by example (Virgo 9th house) through the arts (Neptune [rules film, inspired art] at mid-heaven) and film.
I find it interesting that outward bound Mars is in a sign of polarities (Aquarius), Plutonian inner power is fluctuating in Cancer, and Ian has Mercury (dual perceptions) conjunct Uranus (polarities, magnetics) in artistic Taurus.  Ian is very adept at seeing both sides of any given situation.  He uses this instinctual observation, this intuitive sense (Taurus rules the senses) of dualities to in turn enrich his portrayal of character.
He feels and senses the depth and rich undertones (Pluto Cancer 8 / Venus, Uranus, Mercury in creative 5th house) in humanity and conveys them through artistic means.
(Stellium in creative 5th house/ Mercury conj Uranus trine Neptune at mid-heaven.)
Moon is conjunct Part of Fortune in duty bound Virgo; both trine Saturn in Aries and Venus in Taurus.  Long term (Saturn rules time and work) artistic career (Venus) in the public eye (Moon).
Ian has Mercury quintile (special talents) Pluto, making him a powerfully magnetic ( ! ) communicator, capable of captivating the public (Pluto in moon-ruled Cancer).
He also has Saturn and Neptune quintile Chiron, meaning his work is a powerful healing force to help others.
Ian has one planet retrograde, Neptune – which indicates his work and career in the arts will continue to flourish as he ages.  Retrogrades signify planetary energies that are expressed inwardly while young, until an outside event forces them to be expressed outwardly when older.  At which time, the energy is focused, channeled, and better directed in life.
Double edged sword
May I introduce Mr. Karl Urban.
I am always amazed at how astrology is so layered….complex, and yet equally stunningly simple.  Karl is a Gemini Sun, Mercury combust (within 2 degrees of Sun means solar rays overpower Mercury, ego can rule thinking) and Sun conjunct Saturn (which gives a little balance, reality check to the combust Mercury) all in Gemini.  Mercury rules Gemini, so it is well-placed despite being combust.
Here’s the stunningly simple bit: trekkies (me !) can tell you if you don’t know yourself – Karl dead on NAILED the role of Dr. McCoy ‘Bones’  in Star Trek.  I read it brought Leonard Nimoy to tearsKarl was that good.  I can tell you my jaw dropped…whoa. !
For the record, Karl ~ you were awesome !   Trek sequel is in post-production yippie !
Gemini’s are fabulous mimics and Karl has Sun (honors, recognition) smack between Mercury (rules names, communication) and Saturn (rules bones).  See how easy ?!
Astrology has a myriad of layers like a prism diverts rays of light, humans are complex, we have depth ~ stages of learning and growth unfold as the planets move with us throughout our lives…fascinating, yes ?
Click here for similar film astro story surrounding James Earl Jones of Vader fame.
Karl has this Gemini conjunction trine Uranus in Libra.  (Now I know why he reminds me of my brother.  My brother was an 3rd house [Gemini rules] Aquarius [Uranus rules]stellium.)  Gemini Mercury trine Libra Uranus is savvy and bright, uncannily perceptive on relationship matters, and those involving art, love and money.  Uranus is unpredictable and is aptly named ‘the awakener’ for it is the ginormous game changer that strikes in an instant.  It is polarities – one minute you are here – next minute you are there.  Standing in the same spot but with a 180 shift in perspective. BAM !
Gemini’s see both sides, they are idea people – Sun, Mercury and Saturn trine Uranus in Libra is super observant, weighs and balances thinking, communications.  Uranus is the esoteric ruler of Libra – it is the intuitive wrecking ball of the status quo, delivering stunning insights in a lightning flash ~>  a whole new world, way of thinking follows.
Also, Uranus is the higher octave of Mercury and I know it rules body language (non-verbal) as it is an intuitive art, telepathic.  Karl channelled that innate talent into the role of McCoy – the body language was spot on.  Even if viewers didn’t consciously  know the exacts of why Karl was so dead on, they instinctively  knew.  Animals communicate in this way, it is honed and precise.  Some humans also have a genius ability in this area, Karl is one of these people.
Saturn in Gemini is an alert, clever focused  mind.  It acts as a funnel or anchor for the innate flip-flop dual nature of Mercury ruled Gemini.  Saturn builds a foundation in thinking and communicating – it does the hard work, conjunct Sun, Karl is a hard worker and proud (Sun) of the work he does.
This Gemini stellium is also sextile Moon in Aries, that’s communication meets action on the playing field.  Moon (feelings) in Aries likes to go gung ho – it is impulsive and independent – a leading Moon, not a following passive Moon, for it is powered by Mars and wants what it wants when it wants it, and make it snappy !  Moon is conjunct Chiron (loosely perhaps, don’t have his exact time of birth here) leading to self-revelations regarding the wounding and subsequent healing via women and/or the public in his life.  Moon is opposite Libra Uranus so love relationships and/or relationships with the public will result in breakthroughs in how he feels, what he knows (Uranus) intuitively, and how he acts (Mars).  This conjunction and subsequent awakening completely overhauls his way of nurturing himself and others.
Karl has Mars in Cancer at 16 degrees, conjunct John Rhys-Davies Mars at 20 degrees Cancer.  (Sean Bean’s Mars is at 4 degrees Cancer.)  This means they feel (Moon rules Cancer) and actively respond to situations in a similar fashion. Karl is a big fan of Indiana Jones and likely really enjoyed working with John. (Karl named one of his sons Indy, short for Indiana..!..and ok, I have to interject Mercury loves to name things and his other son’s name is Hunter, great names, imo !)   [note: Thanks Universe for giving me a whole new mindset on Mars in Cancer peeps. Message received. O&O]
Karl has 3 T-Squares, focal planets are as follows:
Focal planets are under the most stress to transform the squares, which are inner tension and friction, they represent obstacles to be overcome.
Invoke the highest vibration of Mars (enthusiasm rather than anger; Pluto transformation of self rather than power over others; Jupiter exploration of philosophies rather than extravagance and lack of foresight)
Mars in Cancer (square-inner tension) Moon in Aries & Uranus in Libra
[Moon opposite Uranus]
Pluto in Virgo (square) Venus in Cancer & Jupiter in Capricorn
[Venus opposite Jupiter]
Jupiter in Capricorn (square) Uranus in Libra & Moon in Aries
[Moon opposite Uranus]
First off, Karl’s Pluto is exact conjunct my 29 degree Virgo Sun. He transforms, while I enlighten,… seems appropriate.  The 29th degree is a culmination degree (each sign has 30 degrees, 0-29) meaning he will transform (Pluto) by service to others, self-improvement and problem solving. He will likely constantly seek perfection (Virgo) through transformative experiences.  This will involve a strain between love, his art (Venus) home and family (Cancer) and possibly overwork.  Most likely, distance (Jupiter) from family while working is very difficult for him.  The high side of this is honing the higher vision (Jupiter in Capricorn) into a piece of material work is intensely gratifying, undoubtedly he wants and needs public approval.  (Venus and Mars in sensitive Cancer.)  * for the record, I own Pathfinder, Riddick & love them, I have yet to watch Comanche Moon, my Mother owns it…soon.
Karl has 5 retrograde planets: Venus, Jupiter, Uranus, Pluto.  Retrograde planetary energies manifest or ‘incubate’ as internal energy until they are ready to manifest outwardly.  Retrograde energies are usually forced by an outside circumstance to manifest outwardly – as they begin to manifest outwardly you will WoW people with your seemingly new  talents and traits.
North Node of Destiny is in Capricorn, Saturn (rules Cap) is conjunct Sun in Gemini trine Uranus in Libra sextile Moon (public) and opposite Neptune (film).
Unusual communication via the conduit of work in film in the public spotlight.
North Node trine Virgo Pluto indicates transformation though visionary analyzation of artwork, communication and duty.
Since Karl is loaded with polarities (that is a compliment, btw., I am too.) I want to mention Hephaistos (asteroid of blacksmiths; forgiveness, craft, cunning and skill ), since Karl was part of a Weta project regarding the Weta weaponry – speaking in a doco – which of course I cannot locate at the moment, will return to edit, check back.
Éomer carried Gúthwinë (Old English  for battle-friend). It was borne by him at the battle of Hornburg, and presumably at the battle of the Pelennor Fields and the battle before Morannon.  Karl’s Hephaistos is trine Jupiter and biquintile (special talents) Pluto giving him an added boost of artistic (Venus rules Taurus) transformation.
Ok, um Karl has Sun at 16 degrees Gemini conjunct MY Hephaistos, my Sun is conjunct HIS Pluto…fascinating. I did mention polarities, did I not ? lol.
So Karl will experience the Occultation of Venus conjunct his 16 degree Gemini Sun on the 5th of June. (Occultation is 15 ’45 Gemini)  This will likely trigger a long-term slow acting shift in his way of thinking about art, love and relationships.  It may induce a more inclusive, cosmic or intuitive (Sun trines natal Libra Uranus) way of thinking (opposite natal Neptune in Sagittarius) and seeing the cosmos and dealing with others.  It will also tune up his higher ideals surrounding beliefs, healing through film work and the public, as well as on the family front (Moon).  Revelations regarding the creative self and future directions will come into focus with the occultation of Venus.
Aur Onnad Meren !
May I introduce Welsh actor, Mr. John Rhys-Davies.
John, who when young won a place at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art, has over his long career appeared in over 70 films, he is known for his voice work, and also numerous television appearances.
Ok, I’ll give it to ya straight from geeky fangirl central.
1. Indiana Jones (Sallah)
2. Star Trek (Voyager, Leonardo da Vinci)
3. Lord of the Rings (Gimli, Treebeard)
4. Dune (Noree Moneo)
Aside from the fact that he is a very sweet man, these are 4 sci-fi action-adventure flicks I adore – that pretty much seals the deal for me.  John is one superfly Taurus !
John is a Taurus Sun, Mercury, and Venus.  Taurus is a dependable, hard worker and can easily find the zen in any situation.  Venus rules Taurus and is well placed here in the sign it rules – conjunct Mercury it not only gives a pleasant, courteous manner of speaking but also his deep rich voice, for Taurus rules the throat.  Mercury leads the Sun in the chart giving John an added kick of Mercurial communication in the house of where he ‘shines’.
This conjunction of personal planets is square Pluto in Leo (the sign of creativity) giving depth (Pluto) to both his artwork (Venus) and his speaking voice.  Cancer Mars can be moody, but sextile Sun it steadies (fluctuating Moon rules Cancer) Mars and helps give his voice power as well as enriching sensitivity towards others with Sun in steady Taurus.
John has North Node conjunct Pluto in dramatic Leo – this signals a life path in the arts and being in the spotlight.  Pluto conjunct North Node means his destiny is to be a catalyst in this life – Pluto is the planet of the journey of transformation through loss, death and re-birth, literally and metaphorically.  In order to create, a great artist needs a deep well to tap for inspiration and John has got it. He is deeply inspired by others and he inspires others as well, Pluto knows no other way but intensity.
Pluto contacts all his personal planets (closer to Sun, move faster, they are felt more readily in our lives) but Mars.  Pluto is also sextile Libra Moon which is an opportunity to grow through women (Venus rules Libra, both Moon and Venus represent women) and enrich the creative process (Pluto sextile Libra Neptune as well- rules inspired art) through using the intensity of Plutonic experiences to create dramatic art.
Moon conjunct Neptune in Libra is a fine placement for artists as Moon represents feelings; Neptune inspires creative daydream states of reverie – and Libra is a Venus (cultivated art) ruled house. This conjunction is trine Pluto, so again artwork created from a wellspring of life experience.
Libra Moon and Neptune are trine Uranus in Gemini which means intuition is very strong and communication quick and restless.  Uranus is intuition, the higher octave of Mercury (which rules Gemini) meaning John is a quick thinker who likes to keep ideas and conversation flowing.  Saturn (time, patience) placed in Gemini gives a steady nature to speech and study, though in square to Neptune it can signal a need for disciplined, practical, constructive thought surrounding daydreaming and the creative process.
John has Jupiter in Leo which gives him stage (Leo rules the stage) presence, but also expands the vocal capabilities of the Taurus conjunction by square.  This can also mean a love of talking and a need to listen or simply take care to guard from hasty speech from self or others.  Eating right to stay heart healthy, is important, for a Leo (rules the heart) Jupiter can expand what it contacts and it is in square or compromise with indulgent Sun (Sun rules Leo) in Taurus.  (Taurus rules the senses, likes to enjoy food and drink.)
John has Mars quintile (spiritual gift / talent) Neptune (rules film) which gives him an edge on artistic expression with the outgoing action planet Mars working in tandem with mystical, spiritual, artistic, Libra Neptune.  Leo Jupiter quintile Gemini Uranus indicates a booming voice (Mercury rules Gemini, and Jupiter squares Mercury too) and a love for innovative, expansive ideas.  John taught (Jupiter and Mercury rule teaching) at Watton County Secondary School in Norfolk, where his students likely found him a powerful, innovative teacher.
Also, I was curious to investigate the skin sensitivity, as I also have sensitive skin.
John broke out terribly to the prosthetics used in Lord of the Rings, sometimes so much his eyes would swell shut. Poor guy ~ that’s dedication !
So here are the deets: Saturn rules skin, Aquarius sensitive skin.  John has Saturn square (internal tension, conflict) sensitive Neptune in Libra (make – up, cosmetics).  This Gemini (rules writing) Saturn (rules time, permanence and along with Mars, tattoos) is square his Moon and Neptune in beautiful balanced Libra, and I am sure at the end of filming, the last thing he wanted was more skin irritation.
Thank you John, I look forward to seeing more of your work…
Horn of Gondor
May I introduce England’s most versatile actor, Mr. Sean Bean.  He holds a stellar career spanning every medium for approximately 20 years, in theater, radio, television and movies.  (IMDb)
Sean is an Aries Sun, Leo Moon with North Node of Destiny in Libra.  Sun is exalted in Aries, the sign led by Mars the warrior.  Sun flavored by Mars brings great physical strength and enthusiasm to lead and achieve.  Fire Sun and Moon makes for a passionate man of action and inspiration.  Sean is a life path 9, this is a life of completion, attainment, wisdom and mysticism.
Sun opposing Neptune in Scorpio may bring disillusionment, through self (Sun) or others (opposition), slowed momentum or detours in life may come through strong desires and misplaced energies of this aspect. (Neptune in Scorpio: Pluto ruler of Scorpio most highly aspected; Pluto focal point of T-Square: Neptune square Moon/Uranus conjunction).  Working in film (Neptune rules) makes this placement easier as the energies of the ‘other’ via Neptune (inspired art) can be brought to life (Sun) and the vast creative imagination (Moon conjunct Uranus in Leo) unfurled to the highest good.
Virgo Pluto as most highly aspected planet, makes Sean a powerhouse of transformation – particularly trine Saturn, (long-term work and career, * see comments for death scenes – Pluto rules death) and trine the Sun which signals great intensity and ability to focus and research each role.  Not only will Sean lead a life of many changes, he will also serve as a catalyst for those he meets.
Pluto brings an intensity and drive to plumb the depths of the inner wellspring of personal power.  People with strong Pluto placements dig into the psyche like a porterhouse steak, it is an instinctual need to probe and penetrate the mysteries.  He chooses political thrillers, warriors, heroes that are meaty roles so he can have more fun fleshing out the richness of the character.  Pluto rules the underworld – think crime, mafia, secret government spies, etc.. Sean naturally gravitates towards these roles.
Mercury in Aries brings impatience to thinking and communicating with others, especially with a trine to clairvoyant Uranus conjunct intuitive Moon in Leo.  He’s a step ahead, a quick study who gets bored quickly with inessentials.  (Mercury speech square -inner tension- restrictive Capricorn Saturn Rx, and square Mars action.)  Though he may not speak of this impatience, he is likely quiet, but his mind (Mercury) is Mars-ruled and prefers to keep ideas and energy moving, he’s thinking plenty, but keeping it to himself.
Mars on a fluctuating water house (fluctuating Moon rules Cancer) swings from action to inaction, it tends to keep the lid on…simmering…to a boil.  Mars wants to express outwardly and Cancer wants to draw inward – the energies are at odds and it can indicate moodiness.  This aspect is also well channelled through film (Mars trine Neptune) and indicates an intuition about people – Mars in Cancer can tap this and employ it while emoting on camera.
Mercury is focal point (in a T-Square) square both Mars and Saturn Rx (Mars and Saturn Rx are opposite -in compromise- with each other). This creates an inner obstacle in communications involving instinctive actions and work.  Squares are more powerful than trines once we solve them because they are the whetstone on the blade – we sharpen our senses through repeated friction.
Mercury is the interpreter, and in Sean’s chart, it trines both expansive Jupiter in Sagittarius, and the powerful Uranus Moon conjunction in creative Leo.  Likely honing down the possibilities of each role, and fine tuning the potentials into the ‘set in stone’ final product is what he finds both difficult and yet highly rewarding.  Creative Venus in Gemini sees the dualities of every role and the opportunities (sextile Mercury) available, it is the choosing (Venus and Uranus rule choice) that proves difficult with fluctuating Moon in the house of artistic Leo conjunct Uranus (polarities).
Moon (emotions, women) conjunct Uranus (rebel, eccentric) in Leo brings not only enormous reserves of innovative creative WILL power (Leo motto : I Will.) but also uncanny intuitiveness, particularly surrounding females and the public (Moon rules).  They trine Mercury so smart, communicative females are likely among his close friends.  Uranus needs freedom and feelings can grow stale unless there are mental gymnastics at play.  Mercury in Aries likes to keep moving, so stimulating conversation is a must with all people he meets.
The downside of this conjunction is the possibility of frequent sudden unexpected emotional upsets.  Uranus is the unpredictable planet of change and innovation and it is tied up with Moon (feelings, women, home).  There will be fluctuation (Moon) and polarities can change regarding where the ‘heart’ (Leo rules) is placed in an instant.  To best use this energy (Uranus rules the electrical body) watch the lunar and solar cycles (flares, etc..) for mood (Moon) changes and channel the creativity of this aspect into artistic pursuits.  Find a way to get your zen on.  Sports (fire Sun and Moon), travel, exploring, and also reading as Jupiter trine Mercury makes for an eternal student, with a need for enriching experiences and new ideas.
Also, Uranus rules flight, Moon fluctuation.  This square (inner tension) from the house of Leo (ruled by Sun, life) to Neptune in Scorpio (ruled by Pluto, death) explains the reticence to fly.
Pluto is focal point of a T-Square – it squares Venus and Jupiter (Venus and Jupiter oppose each other).  Pluto wants the power in any relationship – squared up with Venus, power in romantic relationships.  Venus in Gemini is clever, versatile, observant and scatters ideas and energies.  Jupiter ruling Sagittarius is a strong placement bringing grandiose ideals and philosophies it is the placement of the higher mind, it is also expansive and scatters ideals and philosophies.  Virgo Pluto is going to want tight control over that Gemini Venus and Jupiter in Sagittarius – these energies are not naturally restrictive, so this aspect will need work to find balance.
Pluto in Virgo analyzes (Virgo motto: I analyze) everything (particularly true as Pluto is the most highly aspected planet) in life and wants to dig deep and improve: health, love, self, work, you name it.  Pluto the planet of transformation, death and rebirth is steeping in a Mercury ruled house, as is Venus (Mercury rules Gemini).  That indicates thinking and communication of all kinds regarding love, money and partnerships and details regarding them are being transformed by contact with Pluto.  Jupiter in Sagittarius is the expansive mind  the learning and teaching of life on a broader philosophic scale.  These three planets involved in a T-Square indicates a need to be as the eye of the storm – a stillness, a of peace of mind – within the turmoil of life changes.  Jupiter expands what it contacts, it does throw a beneficial influence, but it also indicates a need for caution when in square (inner tension) to Plutonian power.
Pluto opposes Chiron the wounded healer in Aquarius, the sign of curiosity and eccentrics, the sign of futuristic forward thinking.  Chiron placed here wants inventive ways of healing and learning, but in opposition (compromise with others) to Pluto, this placement can indicate revolutionary changes to ways of thinking (Pluto in Mercury – ruled Virgo), feeling (Uranus, rules Aquarius conjunct Moon in Leo) and knocks to the ego through the deeds of others.  Pluto in this aspect indicates a need to relinquish the desire to use personal power over others and instead channel that same vast inner power of Pluto for control over the self.  In this way, healing of self and others can be reached as a partnership, as a team.
North Node of Destiny in Venus – ruled Libra accentuates a creative direction in life and working with the creative opportunities inherent in the difficult Moon / Uranus conjunction (North Node sextiles both).  Sean has five retrograde planets (tendency to be solitary) which indicates an internal expression of the planetary energies until life circumstances force the planetary energies to be expressed outwardly. (more Rx info here)  They are Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune and Pluto: the social and outer transpersonal planets.  Basically having retrogrades means you will work harder to get a handle on things – as you get older you will – then you will truly be a force to be reckoned with because you are so practiced at expressing the energies you have pondered for so long.
Quickie outlook: Currently work and relationships are getting an overhaul, transiting Pluto Rx is nearing Sean’s 7 degree natal Saturn Rx in Capricorn, bringing a re-structuring of work and career, and perhaps an authority figure (natal Sun opposite transiting Saturn) will force a career change (Pluto is transformative, change and rebirth) for the better. All the best, Sean…
