Matter meets energy

Pictured here is Saturn from the Cassini spacecraft : Specifically, Saturnian superbolts ~> radio (Uranus rules) bursts from Storm Alley in the planet’s southern hemisphere. This image shows one bright tempest in that area, the so-called Dragon Storm.

This pic came to mind this morning as I am feeling kinda edgy today.  Could very well be transiting Uranus getting closer to my natal Saturn.  Chart biggies for me.  Saturn rules my chart, and Uranus is oriental (rising before Sun) conjunct by 4 degrees.

Saturn is terra firma, being grounded, matter, form, it is a restrictive energy.  Uranus is a maverick; wild unpredictable energy, called by some ‘the awakener’.  Its polar axis is actually on a right angle to the other planets, it ‘rolls’ around its orbit.  (Go to the sixty symbols link for more on Uranus)  Uranus rules electricity, inventors and astrology among other things.  So I am thinking what will happen when restriction meets freedom !?

Some things came to mind… I was recently reading a book called ‘Earthing’, which covers the idea of making sure your body is physically connected to the Earth as much as possible so the body may gain healthy electrically charged ions through the ground.  Interesting idea, but it comes with a price tag for additional ‘gear’.
What I have is free…everybody loves free !   Just gonna pitch you some ideas~

Think of your body.  Ashes to ashes and dust to dust, right ?  Human bodies are full of minerals (that’s the Saturn bit)…such as potassium, sulfur, sodium, magnesium, and many more.

If we become more aware of our internal energy ( heart/ Sun–and Uranus/electro-magnetics in body), more aware of using the minerals we embody–we are already ‘grounded’.  Centering a deep breath and visualizing the energy thumping away in the chest -via the heart- is incredibly healing for the Electro-Magnetic Human Field.

Now for some Star Wars: “The Force is what gives a Jedi his power. It’s an energy field created by all living things. It surrounds us, penetrates us, and binds the galaxy together.“―Obi-Wan Kenobi

Fresh Perspectives

One of my favorite drawings by M.C. Escher is Other World – a woodblock from 1947.
So fun to wrap your brain around which perspective your vision travels as you navigate the drawing.

Escher drew fabulous images of changes – morphing one image into another – birds changing to fish then to cats.  He had a great analytical way of turning the ‘situation’ upside-down and starting again.  Escher had technical expertise, concentration, precision; extraordinary vision.

It is easy to see his strengths by the massive pile-up of planets in the 11th house of Aquarius. With Leo rising his chart ruler is Sun, and it is conjunct Neptune (the inspired artist).  The Sun and its placement is where you ‘shine’ and in his case, it is peculiar viewpoints. That’s the Aquarius bit; the oddities, the unusual.

The natural house of Aquarius is the 11th (Think of it as the landlord). His stellium is in Gemini, (the tenant) which rules the hands, and dexterity.  Pluto is digging up the hidden nature of what and how we see.  Mercury is the trickster, after all – and is conveniently conjunct the Moon, which fluctuates.

Venus, or art, is in good aspect to the creative 5th house, and the Uranus Saturn conjunction provides the building (Saturn), of curious (Uranus), visionary (Sagittarian) works.

If you need a fresh perspective, do a headstand or take a different route to work !

Neptunes

Neptune rules not only string instruments, but also inspiration, dreams, spiritual intelligence and healing.
On the flipside, Neptune rules fog, illusion, deception, drugs & alcohol.
It’s a fun little planet to lasso ~> but it may be a hard ride if you have squares and oppositions.
All my difficult aspects are linked to it, and it has taken me years to get my head on straight and I’m still working on it.

I still love Neptune, how can I not ?!
Music… c’mon…can’t live without that.
My Neptune is opposite Moon (feelings) exalted in Toro.
If I get upset, I sing.
Drag out every old Cheap Trick album and let ‘er rip.

Taurus rules the throat and just for the record, (yes, I still have my vinyl) Robin Zander, the fantastic lead singer of Cheap Trick has Moon in Toro conjunct Jupiter (luck, expansion).  Not too shabby !  Here he is, most likely singing “Dream Police’  judging by the hat.
My Moon dovetails right between Robins moon and Jupiter via synastry !  …No wonder singing Cheap Trick all these years helps me feel better !

(My ex husband and I had Moons exactly conjunct and we felt the same about many things.)
namaste~

Far-Sighted

Pictured below is Nostradamus, and his natal chart.  He was famous for writing over 900 rhymed quatrains (four-lined poems) filled with hidden prophecies that predicted the future for 10 centuries.  He lived during the Renaissance and was astrologer to royalty and nobles in Salon.  Nostradamus is a 9 life path; a humanitarian.  He was also a herbalist, healer, physician and linguist.

His bio:  http://www.astro.com/astro-databank/Nostradamus%2C_Michel_de

When learning astrology, this chart struck me because of the obvious water trines.  Water houses (Cancer, Scorpio, Pisces) are the intuitive, psychic houses; they delve deep, are mysterious.

Moon in Scorpio gives depth of feeling and a keen, penetrating insight into the mysteries of life and death; as well as a tendency to keep true feelings under wraps.

Uranus, the planet that will not take the bit is somewhat quieted in the 12th house of Pisces.  It is quietly, secretly, rebellious – hiding prophetic messages within secret texts, for instance.  Uranus is the higher octave of Mercury (the communicator), and is an intuitive planet working in a mystical house.
Jupiter (generosity, philosophy) is exalted in nurturing Cancer; conjunct an angle- making it even more powerful.  Saturn and Mars are both uncomfortable in Cancer, but I feel they give a steady anchor to home and roots so that when the waves of visions may come, the seer is not adrift.

Sun in Capricorn (honors, fame, time) conjunct Mercury (writing) with Neptune (mysticism) all in the tenth house of ‘how the world sees you’ shows the prophetic legacy Nostradamus left the world.

‘may be’ erratic

basketball game against Purdue University in Bloomington on 2/23/85. The
incident was part of a tirade which earned Knight three successive technical
fouls and expulsion from the game. (AP Photo)

There is another pic I won’t post of Knight grabbing player Neil Reed’s throat.  In the same article, reports of Knight choking and punching sports information director, Kit Klingelhofer, in the 1970’s over a news release that upset the coach.

Whoa.  Mercury (communication) in Scorpio (intense power) conjunct ASC (1st house is your style) opposition rebellious Uranus in the 7th (relationships with others).  Jupiter (wants to expand) tightly conjunct Saturn (wants to constrict) in the sign of the bull.   Not to mention some serious squares to Moon (emotions) and Mars quincunx (stressful adjustment) Saturn /Jupiter and semi-square (friction) that radical Uranus.   eep.
I’ll be at home watching from the couch, thanks.

Virgo in the 10th (career) and hey, let’s face it…Virgos are perfectionists.

Legendary coach…here’s the wiki blurb:
Among his greatest achievements are multiple NCAA and NIT championships, but he has had international success as well. In 1979, he took the U.S. Pan American team to a gold medal in Puerto Rico. Knight is known for an almost uncanny ability to extract the full potential from his players, and he is proud of their high graduation rate. He is his own man, with high principles, expectations and demands. Not afraid of controversy, he often uses profanity to make his point and exercises an impressive temper. He has a great ability to teach young men both the game of basketball and the game of life, and in May 1991, he was inducted into the National Basketball Hall of Fame.

…my hands are dirty too…

7. Made it through six whole posts before mentioning STAR WARS.
What took so long..?
Waiting for the spiritual number 7 to roll up.

Okay. Here’s the deal.
STAR WARS CHANGED MY LIFE.

Today I noticed Harrison Ford and I have some similarites….besides being charming rascals.  *wink*
We are both number 9 Life path.  Nines are compassionate humanitarians; dreamers here to serve the world and they are often in the spotlight – like it or not.  Nine is aligned with the planet Neptune and the water triad (Cancer/Scorpio/Pisces).  It is the number of completion, it carries the vibration of all the other numbers before it, and is a literal saturation point.

We are also a Birth Day number 4.  Fours are structured, the squares, conservative, logical.  Fours are aligned with the planet Saturn and the earth triad (Taurus/Virgo/Capricorn).  It is the number of building, organization, crystallization in the physical universe.

I was reading Glynis Has Your Number and I was intrigued by the comment that Harrison seems uncomfortable during interviews because 4/9 are numbers at odds with each other.  I have seen Harrisons chart before and remember noting that he seems very shy considering he has a chart with every single planet above the horizon.  Many planets above the horizon is indicative of extroversion, so what gives..?  First thing I am thinking is..’how’s that Neptune doin’ ?’

So first off, Neptune most highly aspected (private/ hidden), four planets in Cancer (private), including Mercury the talker (silent type here).  He most probably thinks he should (square- inner conflict) be talking more (Mercury- thinks, talks) about his films (Neptune is film) but revealing personal stuff is not for him.   So the extrovert placements of planets above the horizon is offset by the Cardinal Water chart.
