Fluorite is a cubic, octahedral stone that is fluorescent, or glows under UV light.  The origin of the name is Latin, meaning to flow.
It is a stone that enhances mental clarity and provides a clear, clean energy.  It is good for increasing memory, concentration and enhances decision-making.  Note that it has a cubic habit, which is the power of 4 – structure, stability and manifestation.

This stone can help give form to scattered thoughts and energies, and bring your goals into focus.   It increases the flow of energy between brain hemispheres allowing the intuitive (right) and logical reasoning (left) halves to work in unison.  By making the mental path clear, fluorite aids in making a solid plan of action in order to reach your goals step by step.

 

In the natural chart 3rd house is Gemini, ruled by Mercury, motto: I THINK.  It is communication in all forms, lower mind, early education, study habits, how you learn, writing and short distance travel.

Sagittarius is 9th house, ruled by Jupiter, motto: I SEE.  It is higher mind, teaching, universities, philosophy, ethics, morals, beliefs, religion and long distance travel.

Neptune rules the 12th house of Pisces, the hidden, fog, delusion and illusion, mysticism, secrets and sacrifice.  The house in your natal chart where Neptune lives will be a place of spirituality, mysticism and perhaps some form of sacrifice or suffering in your life.

If you have an active Neptune in your natal chart, meaning is it contacting by conjunction, opposition or square another planet, you can not only expect some foggy nebulous action concerning the planets/houses involved, but also inspirational downloads from the cosmos and the collective.

If you have Neptune aspecting a natal planet by transit via conjunction opposition or square, expect the same.

If you are having Neptune trouble, may as well fortify yourself with some stable, earthy fluorite energy to help dissipate the fog, clear the air and put all that inspirational, visionary thinking to practical use.

purple haze

A friend of mine once told me he could tell I was in a good mood because he could see purple lights around me.

He was a cool guy…quiet…known for being pretty zen (he showed up as Gandhi one Halloween), so not too surprised he could see my aura.

In the right light I can see a faint haze of color around people, and Ravi Shankar had an aura I could see plain as day.

Kirlian photography , also called corona (aura) discharge, is a high voltage, contact print photography. The process is simple. Sheet film is placed on top of a metal plate, called the discharge or film plate. The object to photograph is placed on top of the film when High voltage is applied to the plate momentarily to make an exposure. The corona discharge between the object and discharge plate passes through and is recorded onto the film.  When the film is developed you have a Kirlian photograph of the object.

Interesting isn’t it, that the organic mushroom looks much more lively and healthy ?!  Raw foodies won’t be shocked to see raw uncooked veggies seem to have the best auras.
It was also noted that where an amputated finger had been removed, the aura of the missing finger still showed up in the photo.  This lead me to a fascinating article by Rupert Sheldrake concerning phantom or amputated limbs still having a connection with the physical body.

I recently had a computer reading that is called Aura photography, but is more a bio-scan of stress levels.  It will shoot out a color report of your ‘aura’ – complete with graphs and scales of how active each chakra in your body is.
I had a few bucks to blow, and I was curious to see what was up.
What- are you kidding me- ?!  If it’s weird, I’m in !  lol.

So of course, I had to experiment with some crystals and stones in the photo to see if it changed anything.
I am holding a very clear blue fluorite and a lodestone (bottom left), which changed the intensity of color a bit.

I intentionally fuzzed out the pic so the colors are the focus, so to speak.

It appears I have a high-frequency aqua-marine aura.
A scored of about 90 out of 100, meaning my aura travels farther than most.  Maybe you have seen it out & about…?
50 on root chakra, 60 in sacral, 80 solar plexis, 90 heart, 95 throat, 95 third eye, 90 crown.
Primary colors: blue = depth, green = manifestation
I am drawn to blue and green stones, Neptune (blue) squares to Leo (heart, green)  I feel they fortify me somehow, it’s hard to explain, but they feel good.
Recently I grabbed a pyrite for a few days when I needed grounding, (it is carved in a heart shape-ha irony !) and it was soothing. Keep in mind Saturn (rules rocks, earth) rules my chart.
Despite the fact that I am full of earth, I am constantly trying to guide my Neptune, so I keep crystals all over me and my house and I feel it helps.

I am also glugging quite a lot of my homemade clematis essence (helps to ground dreams into reality) that I specially harvested during the last Pisces full moon.

Aquamarine aura means compassionate, peaceful nature, easy flowing relationships.
Giant Neptuner ? ~ bingo!
Also of note with further reading I see it is the color most indicative of polarities.  This I find very interesting, as I have been told by an intuitive that I AM here to learn about polarities.  That lodestone I am holding in the pic – magnetic.
My Uranus is oriental, conjunct Sun and Uranus rules magnetics and polarities.
My Mercury is at Mid-heaven and Mercury is dualistic.

This evening, around 4:15 CST USA Mercury leaves Virgo, joining Sun, Venus, and Saturn in Libra.  Party time !
Libra is the house of parties and friends…but also lawsuits and enemies.
It is opposite the me Me ME of Aries and is the house of Balance and Us. 

Venus is at home in the house she rules and is warming up to old cuss Saturn on the couch at about 5 degrees…and she’s moving in closer…Saturn is looking good ~ he is exalted in Libra.

A spoonful of honey will catch more flies than a gallon of vinegar.

There is a sense of peace coupled with change in the air, with the grand earth trine involving Moon (feelings), Jupiter (poise), and Pluto (inner energy). 
 
Saturn is steady, diplomatic, fair and kind in Libra, especially with Venus at his side.  Pluto, with 6 aspects in the sky is manifesting change in Air (thoughts, communication) and Earth (physical world), and Fire (actions).  The Water element (Moon) is involved  via the steady Earth trine.

Mercury (Hermes) is the messenger, the traveller, the root of the name (herma) means ‘marker of stones’. 
Mercury (polarities) into Libra (scales of balance) can mean an over abundance of thinking/communicating followed by periods of quiet and relaxation (Venus).

It occurs to me I have vacation coming (yes !) and should make a calendar of chores so I can be more productive, haha Saturn, no rest for Saturn.   I will plan a day of reading (how weird to schedule relaxation) since Mercury rules reading, libraries, Saturn rules time, Venus, love.  The brick pictured above is on a path leading to a library, if you were wondering.

dragon’s head

Ammonites are fossils, previous homes to cephalopods that lived in the seas between 240 – 65 million years ago.
The name originates from the Greek Ram-horned god called Ammon.

In the Middle Ages they were called ‘dragon’s heads’ and worn for protection.  The Blackfoot tribe also wore them to ward off evil spirits as ‘buffalo stones’.

Ammonite is a powerful re-birthing stone; it represents the sacred geometry of the golden mean and the cyclical nature of life.
It is excellent for centering, and relaxation through calming the breath, and pulse.  It can awaken the kundalini and foster harmonious energy flow throughout the body.


If you are very Earthy, or just simply a lover of stones, you may like to find a pocket totem to carry as a reminder to vibrate high energies during the Uranus oppositions to Sun, Mercury and Venus.
Venus is also conjunct Saturn.  Pluto is squaring the above, and Uranus too.

There is energy pushing and pulling in the sky in many earth signs.
…so I am making friends with the Earth energies via ammonite…

Capricorn rules Saturn, Saturn rules rocks , they are made with pressure over eons of time ~ very Plutonic.
Saturn is my chart ruler, both luminaries are in Earth, so I dig rocks. 

They help me focus my energies and practice patience, with myself and others.

Electric Moon

To dream of a lodestone denotes favorable opportunities for advancement, it is an omen of happy changes.

My Neptune (rules dreams) is in the 11th house, the natural house of Aquarius – ruled by Uranus, which rules magnetics and lightning.
Lodestones are magnetic, said to be naturally magnetized by lightning strike.
The moon is full in Aquarius, the sign of inventors, humanitarians and forward- thinkers.

Now for some progressive astro science ~> Uranus rules science and astrology !
An iron core inserted into a solenoid (wire coil with electric current running through it) can multiply the magnetic field in the solenoid by a factor of tens, even thousands.  *

So I’ve been giving lots of attention to what I am magnetically attracting via my Mars (rules iron) trine from the 11th to the 3rd house of thinking.

Mars needs to lead and Uranus isn’t a follower, but in my case they are working together (Mars Quintile -spiritual gifts- Uranus) on a path of spiritual freedom and exploration.

I also have the magnetic Sun conjunct Uranus (rules magnetics) so I keep an eye on the solar cycles and any activity on the surface of the sun.  The picture above is a X6.9 flare 4 days ago.  The most powerful flare measured with modern methods was in 2003, during the last solar maximum, and it was so powerful that it overloaded the sensors measuring it. The sensors cut out at X28. *

I have read that some sensitive to solar activity can be more likely to have seiziures, dizziness, or disrupted sleep during heightened solar geomagnetic storms.
I experienced some slight dizziness during the last one, but as far as I’m conerned, the jury’s still out.  Did you feel anything ?

Uranus rules vision, magnetics and birds.  In the late 1970s, the physicist Klaus Schulten concluded that birds navigate by relying on geomagnetically sensitive biochemical reactions in their eyes, specifically, the protein cryptochrome. *

I have a very good sense of direction…where is your Uranus and how is your sense of direction..?  I am curious.   (Uranus rules curiosity)

Uranus also rules sensitive skin and conjunct Sun, I am prone to sunstroke…especially at high altitudes, and I tend to be a bit high-strung as Uranus rules the nervous system.

Aquarius is an air (communication) sign, but known as the water-bearer.
It is a fixed sign, yet totally unpredictable.

Uranus can be fabulous highly charged eccentric ideas coming in flash twinges of intuition ( I knew I would own the house I presently live in when my foot- Neptune rules the feet- touched the driveway) or it can be erratic shocking shakedowns coming out of nowhere that cause a change in perspective in an instant.

Neptune rules humming (probably why I heard the Taos hum) and Aquarius rules birds.  I could tell you a story about how my Neptune squares from Scorpio to Leo (rules the heart) can be wrapped up in a tiny little bird with a heart rate that can reach up to 1260 beats in a minute….but I won’t.  That’s my 8th house of secrets, I’ll just say I have learned to regenerate and that’s all the Mercury Rx ‘pay dirt’ you’re gonna get.

Creative Thinking

Mercury is retrograde from August 2 through August 25th.

Planets that are retrograde (Rx) only appear so from the vantage point of Earth.

Mercury rules the signs of Gemini and Virgo and represents communication and travel of all forms.

Retrograde motion in the natal as well as the transit, indicates an inner working of the energies of the planet.  It is a time to re-view, re-evaluate, re-vise.  Check the house Mercury retrograde is transiting in your chart for an indication of what areas of your life you will be re-working.

Mercury retrograde begins at 1 degree Virgo; resumes direct motion at 18 degrees Leo.  During these times it is advised to avoid signing any legal documents, or binding agreements as they are more likely to need revision.

Malfunctioning equipment is more likely to occur, (power surges & blown fuses here today/dvd’s not loading properly) and it is advised to think carefully before you speak or write.

Mercury is still in ‘shadowzone’ or slowly catching up to where it began retrograde, until the 9th of September.  While Mercury is in the shadowzone, communication matters will improve, but remain slow.

Mercury is also a quick, restless planet with a high-strung nature, so please remember to take a moment and breathe deeply if you feel jittery, and remember to nurture yourself if you feel a need to.

I plan on watching this transit carefully as Mercury rules my Virgo stellium, is closest to mid-heaven, and by transit it will be knocking off my natal squares in Leo.  On the plus side, it will be great for the metaphysical and occult research and writing I will be doing while it is in my 8th house.

Mercury retrograde in the fire sign of artistic Leo will charge up some inspiring and creative thinking for everyone !

In honor of the late July 114 degree heat index, I give you O dot.
O dot rules Leo; the heart, it is where you ‘shine’ in your chart (look for the house where it lives).  It is your WILL power.  O dot in the chart represents many things including males you know, the father (along with Saturn), actors, leaders and government.  O dot is your courage, your conscious daytime waking identity, your spirit.

The heart or Anahata chakra is represented by the color green –think Green Lantern and WILL power here, folks– it is the seat of love, compassion, generosity, ego and a positive mental attitude.  Prehnite is a stone for linking the heart with the will, of finding balance between the ego desire and the highest good of Earthkind.  (I love the smooth bumpy feel of mine and it also fits the curvature of my palm when I clasp it.)
