Way of the Dragon

Respect !

Way of the Dragon, indeed.
Born in the hour of the dragon, in a metal dragon year – double dragon is extremely powerful, very auspicious.  Dragon rules the energetic morning hours between 7-9am.  Unpredictable, ambitious, opinionated, outspoken and lucky are traits of dragon hours.

Metal dragon of 1940 is a gleaming sword.  Future – oriented, decisive and natural – born leaders, metal dragons are fair and honest.  Lessons to learn are tact, flexibility, relaxation.
:::::::::

I haven’t been as stunned by a natal chart since I saw the grand water trines of Nostradamus.

Bruce Lee’s powerful Pluto is packing a punch as focal planet of several T-Squares.
Pluto forces the personal will and outward energies of Mars  to a higher octave.

Pluto is divine will – implosive power and force channeled, focused into explosive extremes of energy that manifest in outward metamorphosis.

Bruce channeled this magical transformative Plutonic energy into extraordinary physical prowess.  Onscreen he led the globe to recognize the spiritual beauty and grace of martial arts.

Born in San Francisco and raised in Hong Kong, Bruce had appeared in 20 films by age 18.  Bruce moved back to the states when he turned 19, majoring in philosophy at the University of Washington, Seattle.

In later years he practiced, taught and wrote of the evolution of his way of martial arts, which he called Jeet Kune Do, “The Way of The Intercepting Fist.”

Bruce read and wrote extensively his thoughts about physical combat, the psychology of fighting, the philosophical roots of martial arts, and about motivation, self-actualization and liberation of the individual. (source)

Bruce Lee was a 12th house Sagittarius Sun, Scorpio Moon, Mercury, Venus and Mars.
Intense, unusual spiritual quest was definitely on the menu with this 11th house stellium. Nearly all his personal planets are ruled by his focal planet, Pluto.

Bruce was creative power incarnate.  Leonine Pluto taps into the center of being , the power of WILL in tandem with the strength of the heart: spirit, honor, kindness and generosity.

His winning card – Sag in 12th has secret allies – his Sun is trine the house Sun naturally rules, Leo.  He shines brilliant spiritual fires of the phoenix from a dark well of Plutonic power which rests on the 8th, the house Pluto naturally rules.

Scorpio fixates, obsesses, probes and penetrates the mysteries fearlessly tapping the still waters of the soul seeking control.  Sun in trine to Pluto learns self-control, then teaches the philosophy to others. Eleventh house stellium packed with Scorpionic power shares intellectual enlightenment gleaned from within for the betterment of earthkind.

The creative 5th house & intellectual 11th house axis is activated – what I have opposes what we have. Bruce wanted artistic control of teaching and communicating his way of Jeet Kune Do, financial gain was not paramount, the spiritual way of martial arts (Neptune 10 conj MC) life was most important to him.

Stealth in the 12th ~>  Sag Sun trines Pluto: his aim to bring spiritual insight to the masses – a public display of personal power controlled, harnessed ~> superhuman force applied with spiritual discipline to achieve enlightenment and transcend personal limitations.  Note Sun quintiles MC as well.  Mars rules his creative 5th house: action hero, onscreen.

Taurean Uranus trines Virgo Neptune in the 10th at MC – earth plane manifestation of unusual zen principles – martial arts philosophy was woven into his daily life, spirituality was Bruce was spirituality.  Graceful precision of movement on film was his destiny.

Libran North Node quincunx Saturn, quite possibly he knew the toll intense overwork (Saturn conjunct Jupiter) would have on the physical vehicle, but felt he was unable to comply with normal standards of rest.  He needed to share, he sought peace and balance through work, his art.  Uranus is restless in Venus- ruled Taurus, stillness must be continually cultivated, and it does not come easy.

Bruce had Uranus quintile Pluto – his talents and spiritual gifts had a profound impact on the world – he helped introduce gung fu to the world through teaching martial arts.

Be like water making its way through cracks. Do not be assertive, but adjust to the object, and you shall find a way around or through it. If nothing within you stays rigid, outward things will disclose themselves.

::::::::::

Not being tense but ready.
Not thinking but not dreaming.
Not being set but flexible.
Liberation from the uneasy sense of confinement.
It is being wholly and quietly alive, aware and alert, ready for whatever may come.

Double edged sword

May I introduce Mr. Karl Urban.

I am always amazed at how astrology is so layered….complex, and yet equally stunningly simple.  Karl is a Gemini Sun, Mercury combust (within 2 degrees of Sun means solar rays overpower Mercury, ego can rule thinking) and Sun conjunct Saturn (which gives a little balance, reality check to the combust Mercury) all in Gemini.  Mercury rules Gemini, so it is well-placed despite being combust.

Here’s the stunningly simple bit: trekkies (me !) can tell you if you don’t know yourself – Karl dead on NAILED the role of Dr. McCoy ‘Bones’  in Star Trek.  I read it brought Leonard Nimoy to tearsKarl was that good.  I can tell you my jaw dropped…whoa. !
For the record, Karl ~ you were awesome !   Trek sequel is in post-production yippie !

Gemini’s are fabulous mimics and Karl has Sun (honors, recognition) smack between Mercury (rules names, communication) and Saturn (rules bones).  See how easy ?!

Astrology has a myriad of layers like a prism diverts rays of light, humans are complex, we have depth ~ stages of learning and growth unfold as the planets move with us throughout our lives…fascinating, yes ?
Click here for similar film astro story surrounding James Earl Jones of Vader fame.

Karl has this Gemini conjunction trine Uranus in Libra.  (Now I know why he reminds me of my brother.  My brother was an 3rd house [Gemini rules] Aquarius [Uranus rules]stellium.)  Gemini Mercury trine Libra Uranus is savvy and bright, uncannily perceptive on relationship matters, and those involving art, love and money.  Uranus is unpredictable and is aptly named ‘the awakener’ for it is the ginormous game changer that strikes in an instant.  It is polarities – one minute you are here – next minute you are there.  Standing in the same spot but with a 180 shift in perspective. BAM !

Gemini’s see both sides, they are idea people – Sun, Mercury and Saturn trine Uranus in Libra is super observant, weighs and balances thinking, communications.  Uranus is the esoteric ruler of Libra – it is the intuitive wrecking ball of the status quo, delivering stunning insights in a lightning flash ~>  a whole new world, way of thinking follows.
Also, Uranus is the higher octave of Mercury and I know it rules body language (non-verbal) as it is an intuitive art, telepathic.  Karl channelled that innate talent into the role of McCoy – the body language was spot on.  Even if viewers didn’t consciously  know the exacts of why Karl was so dead on, they instinctively  knew.  Animals communicate in this way, it is honed and precise.  Some humans also have a genius ability in this area, Karl is one of these people.

Saturn in Gemini is an alert, clever focused  mind.  It acts as a funnel or anchor for the innate flip-flop dual nature of Mercury ruled Gemini.  Saturn builds a foundation in thinking and communicating – it does the hard work, conjunct Sun, Karl is a hard worker and proud (Sun) of the work he does.

This Gemini stellium is also sextile Moon in Aries, that’s communication meets action on the playing field.  Moon (feelings) in Aries likes to go gung ho – it is impulsive and independent – a leading Moon, not a following passive Moon, for it is powered by Mars and wants what it wants when it wants it, and make it snappy !  Moon is conjunct Chiron (loosely perhaps, don’t have his exact time of birth here) leading to self-revelations regarding the wounding and subsequent healing via women and/or the public in his life.  Moon is opposite Libra Uranus so love relationships and/or relationships with the public will result in breakthroughs in how he feels, what he knows (Uranus) intuitively, and how he acts (Mars).  This conjunction and subsequent awakening completely overhauls his way of nurturing himself and others.

Karl has Mars in Cancer at 16 degrees, conjunct John Rhys-Davies Mars at 20 degrees Cancer.  (Sean Bean’s Mars is at 4 degrees Cancer.)  This means they feel (Moon rules Cancer) and actively respond to situations in a similar fashion. Karl is a big fan of Indiana Jones and likely really enjoyed working with John. (Karl named one of his sons Indy, short for Indiana..!..and ok, I have to interject Mercury loves to name things and his other son’s name is Hunter, great names, imo !)   [note: Thanks Universe for giving me a whole new mindset on Mars in Cancer peeps. Message received. O&O]

Karl has 3 T-Squares, focal planets are as follows:
Focal planets are under the most stress to transform the squares, which are inner tension and friction, they represent obstacles to be overcome.

Invoke the highest vibration of Mars (enthusiasm rather than anger; Pluto transformation of self rather than power over others; Jupiter exploration of philosophies rather than extravagance and lack of foresight)

Mars in Cancer (square-inner tension) Moon in Aries & Uranus in Libra
[Moon opposite Uranus]

Pluto in Virgo (square) Venus in Cancer & Jupiter in Capricorn
[Venus opposite Jupiter]

Jupiter in Capricorn (square) Uranus in Libra & Moon in Aries
[Moon opposite Uranus]

First off, Karl’s Pluto is exact conjunct my 29 degree Virgo Sun. He transforms, while I enlighten,… seems appropriate.  The 29th degree is a culmination degree (each sign has 30 degrees, 0-29) meaning he will transform (Pluto) by service to others, self-improvement and problem solving. He will likely constantly seek perfection (Virgo) through transformative experiences.  This will involve a strain between love, his art (Venus) home and family (Cancer) and possibly overwork.  Most likely, distance (Jupiter) from family while working is very difficult for him.  The high side of this is honing the higher vision (Jupiter in Capricorn) into a piece of material work is intensely gratifying, undoubtedly he wants and needs public approval.  (Venus and Mars in sensitive Cancer.)  * for the record, I own Pathfinder, Riddick & love them, I have yet to watch Comanche Moon, my Mother owns it…soon.

Karl has 5 retrograde planets: Venus, Jupiter, Uranus, Pluto.  Retrograde planetary energies manifest or ‘incubate’ as internal energy until they are ready to manifest outwardly.  Retrograde energies are usually forced by an outside circumstance to manifest outwardly – as they begin to manifest outwardly you will WoW people with your seemingly new  talents and traits.

North Node of Destiny is in Capricorn, Saturn (rules Cap) is conjunct Sun in Gemini trine Uranus in Libra sextile Moon (public) and opposite Neptune (film).
Unusual communication via the conduit of work in film in the public spotlight.
North Node trine Virgo Pluto indicates transformation though visionary analyzation of artwork, communication and duty.

Since Karl is loaded with polarities (that is a compliment, btw., I am too.) I want to mention Hephaistos (asteroid of blacksmiths; forgiveness, craft, cunning and skill ), since Karl was part of a Weta project regarding the Weta weaponry – speaking in a doco – which of course I cannot locate at the moment, will return to edit, check back.

Éomer carried Gúthwinë (Old English  for battle-friend). It was borne by him at the battle of Hornburg, and presumably at the battle of the Pelennor Fields and the battle before Morannon.  Karl’s Hephaistos is trine Jupiter and biquintile (special talents) Pluto giving him an added boost of artistic (Venus rules Taurus) transformation.
Ok, um Karl has Sun at 16 degrees Gemini conjunct MY Hephaistos, my Sun is conjunct HIS Pluto…fascinating. I did mention polarities, did I not ? lol.

So Karl will experience the Occultation of Venus conjunct his 16 degree Gemini Sun on the 5th of June. (Occultation is 15 ’45 Gemini)  This will likely trigger a long-term slow acting shift in his way of thinking about art, love and relationships.  It may induce a more inclusive, cosmic or intuitive (Sun trines natal Libra Uranus) way of thinking (opposite natal Neptune in Sagittarius) and seeing the cosmos and dealing with others.  It will also tune up his higher ideals surrounding beliefs, healing through film work and the public, as well as on the family front (Moon).  Revelations regarding the creative self and future directions will come into focus with the occultation of Venus.

Horn of Gondor

May I introduce England’s most versatile actor, Mr. Sean Bean.  He holds a stellar career spanning every medium for approximately 20 years, in theater, radio, television and movies.  (IMDb)

Sean is an Aries Sun, Leo Moon with North Node of Destiny in Libra.  Sun is exalted in Aries, the sign led by Mars the warrior.  Sun flavored by Mars brings great physical strength and enthusiasm to lead and achieve.  Fire Sun and Moon makes for a passionate man of action and inspiration.  Sean is a life path 9, this is a life of completion, attainment, wisdom and mysticism.

Sun opposing Neptune in Scorpio may bring disillusionment, through self (Sun) or others (opposition), slowed momentum or detours in life may come through strong desires and misplaced energies of this aspect. (Neptune in Scorpio: Pluto ruler of Scorpio most highly aspected; Pluto focal point of T-Square: Neptune square Moon/Uranus conjunction).  Working in film (Neptune rules) makes this placement easier as the energies of the ‘other’ via Neptune (inspired art) can be brought to life (Sun) and the vast creative imagination (Moon conjunct Uranus in Leo) unfurled to the highest good.

Virgo Pluto as most highly aspected planet, makes Sean a powerhouse of transformation – particularly trine Saturn, (long-term work and career, * see comments for death scenes – Pluto rules death) and trine the Sun which signals great intensity and ability to focus and research each role.  Not only will Sean lead a life of many changes, he will also serve as a catalyst for those he meets.

Pluto brings an intensity and drive to plumb the depths of the inner wellspring of personal power.  People with strong Pluto placements dig into the psyche like a porterhouse steak, it is an instinctual need to probe and penetrate the mysteries.  He chooses political thrillers, warriors, heroes that are meaty roles so he can have more fun fleshing out the richness of the character.  Pluto rules the underworld – think crime, mafia, secret government spies, etc.. Sean naturally gravitates towards these roles.

Mercury in Aries brings impatience to thinking and communicating with others, especially with a trine to clairvoyant Uranus conjunct intuitive Moon in Leo.  He’s a step ahead, a quick study who gets bored quickly with inessentials.  (Mercury speech square -inner tension- restrictive Capricorn Saturn Rx, and square Mars action.)  Though he may not speak of this impatience, he is likely quiet, but his mind (Mercury) is Mars-ruled and prefers to keep ideas and energy moving, he’s thinking plenty, but keeping it to himself.

Mars on a fluctuating water house (fluctuating Moon rules Cancer) swings from action to inaction, it tends to keep the lid on…simmering…to a boil.  Mars wants to express outwardly and Cancer wants to draw inward – the energies are at odds and it can indicate moodiness.  This aspect is also well channelled through film (Mars trine Neptune) and indicates an intuition about people – Mars in Cancer can tap this and employ it while emoting on camera.

Mercury is focal point (in a T-Square) square both Mars and Saturn Rx (Mars and Saturn Rx are opposite -in compromise- with each other). This creates an inner obstacle in communications involving instinctive actions and work.  Squares are more powerful than trines once we solve them because they are the whetstone on the blade – we sharpen our senses through repeated friction.

Mercury is the interpreter, and in Sean’s chart, it trines both expansive Jupiter in Sagittarius, and the powerful Uranus Moon conjunction in creative Leo.  Likely honing down the possibilities of each role, and fine tuning the potentials into the ‘set in stone’ final product is what he finds both difficult and yet highly rewarding.  Creative Venus in Gemini sees the dualities of every role and the opportunities (sextile Mercury) available, it is the choosing (Venus and Uranus rule choice) that proves difficult with fluctuating Moon in the house of artistic Leo conjunct Uranus (polarities).

Moon (emotions, women) conjunct Uranus (rebel, eccentric) in Leo brings not only enormous reserves of innovative creative WILL power (Leo motto : I Will.) but also uncanny intuitiveness, particularly surrounding females and the public (Moon rules).  They trine Mercury so smart, communicative females are likely among his close friends.  Uranus needs freedom and feelings can grow stale unless there are mental gymnastics at play.  Mercury in Aries likes to keep moving, so stimulating conversation is a must with all people he meets.

The downside of this conjunction is the possibility of frequent sudden unexpected emotional upsets.  Uranus is the unpredictable planet of change and innovation and it is tied up with Moon (feelings, women, home).  There will be fluctuation (Moon) and polarities can change regarding where the ‘heart’ (Leo rules) is placed in an instant.  To best use this energy (Uranus rules the electrical body) watch the lunar and solar cycles (flares, etc..) for mood (Moon) changes and channel the creativity of this aspect into artistic pursuits.  Find a way to get your zen on.  Sports (fire Sun and Moon), travel, exploring, and also reading as Jupiter trine Mercury makes for an eternal student, with a need for enriching experiences and new ideas.

Also, Uranus rules flight, Moon fluctuation.  This square (inner tension) from the house of Leo (ruled by Sun, life) to Neptune in Scorpio (ruled by Pluto, death) explains the reticence to fly.

Pluto is focal point of a T-Square – it squares Venus and Jupiter (Venus and Jupiter oppose each other).  Pluto wants the power in any relationship – squared up with Venus, power in romantic relationships.  Venus in Gemini is clever, versatile, observant and scatters ideas and energies.  Jupiter ruling Sagittarius is a strong placement bringing grandiose ideals and philosophies it is the placement of the higher mind, it is also expansive and scatters ideals and philosophies.  Virgo Pluto is going to want tight control over that Gemini Venus and Jupiter in Sagittarius – these energies are not naturally restrictive, so this aspect will need work to find balance.

Pluto in Virgo analyzes (Virgo motto: I analyze) everything (particularly true as Pluto is the most highly aspected planet) in life and wants to dig deep and improve: health, love, self, work, you name it.  Pluto the planet of transformation, death and rebirth is steeping in a Mercury ruled house, as is Venus (Mercury rules Gemini).  That indicates thinking and communication of all kinds regarding love, money and partnerships and details regarding them are being transformed by contact with Pluto.  Jupiter in Sagittarius is the expansive mind  the learning and teaching of life on a broader philosophic scale.  These three planets involved in a T-Square indicates a need to be as the eye of the storm – a stillness, a of peace of mind – within the turmoil of life changes.  Jupiter expands what it contacts, it does throw a beneficial influence, but it also indicates a need for caution when in square (inner tension) to Plutonian power.

Pluto opposes Chiron the wounded healer in Aquarius, the sign of curiosity and eccentrics, the sign of futuristic forward thinking.  Chiron placed here wants inventive ways of healing and learning, but in opposition (compromise with others) to Pluto, this placement can indicate revolutionary changes to ways of thinking (Pluto in Mercury – ruled Virgo), feeling (Uranus, rules Aquarius conjunct Moon in Leo) and knocks to the ego through the deeds of others.  Pluto in this aspect indicates a need to relinquish the desire to use personal power over others and instead channel that same vast inner power of Pluto for control over the self.  In this way, healing of self and others can be reached as a partnership, as a team.

North Node of Destiny in Venus – ruled Libra accentuates a creative direction in life and working with the creative opportunities inherent in the difficult Moon / Uranus conjunction (North Node sextiles both).  Sean has five retrograde planets (tendency to be solitary) which indicates an internal expression of the planetary energies until life circumstances force the planetary energies to be expressed outwardly. (more Rx info here)  They are Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune and Pluto: the social and outer transpersonal planets.  Basically having retrogrades means you will work harder to get a handle on things – as you get older you will – then you will truly be a force to be reckoned with because you are so practiced at expressing the energies you have pondered for so long.

Quickie outlook: Currently work and relationships are getting an overhaul, transiting Pluto Rx is nearing Sean’s 7 degree natal Saturn Rx in Capricorn, bringing a re-structuring of work and career, and perhaps an authority figure (natal Sun opposite transiting Saturn) will force a career change (Pluto is transformative, change and rebirth) for the better. All the best, Sean…

I’m huge in Romania !!

I. had. no. idea. !

Shout-out to Romanians – YaY !

Romania is ruled by Sun and Leo !

Very, very cool ~ I have Venus conjunct Jupiter in Leo, Part of Fortune in Leo
and  Venus is conjunct Jupiter now in Taurus where Moon (the public) lives in my natal.

The leg opposite Pluto in the T-square lies in Cancer (Moon rules) wham-o revelation !
gobsmacked.

Sunflowers are ruled by the Sun and Leo.  xo

Manifest Destiny

Pictured below is Pluto, yes Pluto.  Not space object whatever downgrade term it got smacked with.  Check some of the Pluto posts here if you doubt this tiny planets whallop on the natal chart.

~~~~~~~~~~~~
I have it conjunct Sun/Uranus, trine Moon, trust me it has power, no matter what you call it.  Don’t let that freak you out, though.  Pluto rules metamorphosis and rebirth ~> think phoenix, or caterpillar to butterfly.
Not easy, but worth it !
Now on with the sky show…
~~~~~~~~~~~
11:00 UT, (6:00 CST) we will have a big pile up in the Cardinal (activity, action) Air sign (thinking, speaking) of Libra.  Two degree Mercury conjunct New Moon, and Moon conjunct Sun at 4 degrees- all square Pluto at 4 degrees.  Mercury is at 2 degrees opposite Uranus at 2 degrees, with Sun and New Moon opposite as well.  Uranus squares Pluto.  Those are some stressful aspects, but what growth isn’t..?

Look at it this way…

1= seeds, new beginnings   2=balance, duality    4= stability    5=change
6= harmony within flux  8= strength, new priorities  9=mystical, closure

The healers Chiron & Neptune are seeds, new beginnings.
Mercury (thoughts, communication) and Uranus (change) are balance, duality.
Saturn (responsibility) and Jupiter (visionary ideas) are mystical closure.
Mars (action) is change.
Venus (love, kindness) is harmony within flux.
Sun, Moon and Pluto are stability.
North Node of Destiny is strength and setting new priorities in the sign of Sagittarius the seekers of Universal Truth.

Quintiles are spiritual gifts straight from the universe.  There are several in the sky above… Venus Q Mars….Mars Q Saturn…Jupiter Q Neptune…Neptune Q North Node of Destiny (note that Jupiter and Neptune are bi-Q Sun, Moon, and Mercury as well)

This is a great chance to get some power behind all those thoughts of love, peace, equality, healing so they can manifest into your destiny.  The planet of action (Mars) is creating tension (change) from Leo of the Heart to the biggest planet in our sky the greater benefic, Jupiter in the dependable sign of Taurus that Venus (Love) rules.

Mars (action) is trine (harmony) changeable Uranus and sextile (opportunity) Sun, New (manifestation) Moon and Mercury (conscious, unconscious, thinking) in the Cardinal (active, initiatory) sign of balance, the sign of relationships, Libra.

Jupiter, Uranus, Neptune and Chiron are all Rx (retrograde), so these are changes that will perhaps bloom slowly, but are worth the effort.
