Astrological Archaeology

A few days ago I spoke of layers present in the natal chart.

Circumstances of the past life can be seen via South Node and the 12th house.  ( More on that later.)

Another example of peeling back the layering: Saturn not only indicates your restrictions, your work style, it also indicates your father (along with Sun).

Moon indicates your feelings, where you fluctuate, the public, women and the mother.

The Cardinal sign, Aries, is the sign on the natural first house of the zodiac – it is spring equinox, the start of the western astrological wheel.

So if you have another sign rising on the first house, consider Aries as the landlord of that house and your Rising sign as the tenant.  This is also true of the remaining houses – Taurus is the natural Landlord of the second house, Venus rules.

For example, I am a Capricorn Rising, with Saturn Rx (rules Capricorn, is my chart ruler) in Aries trine Mars.  So right off I am Cardinal on Cardinal, my Capricorn & Saturn have an Aries flavor and both are very Mars-y.

::::::::::::::

In addition, my Saturn Rx is steeping in the decan of Mars, giving me even more Mars.

The decan chart is below if you would like to delve deeper into your most highly aspected planet or investigate troublesome areas.

Decans can serve as an enlightenment tool into how your planet is working.  These decans modify the energy of the planet (also check your ASC/DC – IC/MC degrees) and add yet another flavor, another layer to the expression of the planets and angles in your natal chart.
