I don’t usually watch television, but I did watch Craig a few nights ago and was reminded of the poignant Late Late Show show several years ago where he divulged his battle with alcoholism.  He was brutally honest and his story was deeply moving…

I don’t remember if I had quit drinking myself at that point or not.  I don’t drink anymore – Venus conj Jupiter (love; expansion, respectively) square Neptune (liquor).  I liked to drink, then I realized if I quit drinking and smoking, I wouldn’t have to work 7 days a week.
Done. Deal. Sober !

Craig is a Taurus Sun, Gemini Rising, Moon in Libra.  Moon brings fluctuation to the house of balance.  Pisces (Neptune rules) Jupiter in trine to Scorpio Neptune can definitely mean an excess of fun times in the water signs.

Craig has Saturn in Aquarius at MC in 10 in square to Neptune.  That means a need to hit the brakes (Saturn), but reluctance to do it.  Mercury, Craig’s chart ruler is focal point of a T-Square with Pisces Jupiter (conjunct Chiron) and Pluto in Virgo (Jupiter and Pluto oppose each other – signaling a big need for transformation.

I wanted to see the aspects for the day he quit drinking.  (2/18/92)

Saturn – ruled Capricorn restraint won over – dig this – on the day Craig quit drinking:

Saturn return 11 degrees Aquarius.
Venus
Mars
Uranus
Neptune
North Node of Destiny all in Capricorn

Also Mercury, Craig’s chart ruler had just passed into Pisces at 1 degree.  His transiting Sun had just passed opposing natal Uranus from the sign of Aquarius.  (Craig’s natal Uranus squares his natal Sun)

Aquarius is ruled by Uranus – sudden breaks or separations.
It is the radical wildcard – which in conjunction with a ton of Capricorn restraint, helped Craig begin a life of sobriety.

Still goofy as all get out – totally loveable too …  xo

    • If only the 20 years or so prior to that decision was so cut and dried. Odd now that I know astro, my 2nd job was at the local gas & sip. Neptune is my most highly aspected in 11, and I DID meet everyone in town after living a quiet life up until then. Surprisingly, I liked it – the galleria of regular working stiffs like me – fabulous people watching. I have stories. lol

  2. I love watching Craig – I don’t usually stay up that late but if I am restless and see that it is 12:30am, I will get out of bed and go watch Craig then go back to bed. He got married in the last few years and has a toddler at home.

    • Craig is so sweet silly and goofy – a real stich ! He and Conan are by far my faves if I am tuning in. I had to wrestle my rabbit ears just to watch the other night – it has been a g e s since I have watched the boob tube.
      Glad to hear Craig’s got his life on track, I don’t know a thing about his personal life, but saw the sobriety date and went for it. I wanted to do Steven Tyler’s chart for the same reason, but the exact date was not in his biography. good to hear from you MM
